‘Star Wars Rebels’ Teaser: Are There Clues For ‘Episode VII’?

Because a day can't go by without some fleeting bit of "Star Wars" news, today Lucasfilm finally released their first look at the upcoming animated series "Star Wars Rebels." So what can we learn from the 16-second teaser... And what teases does it have for "Episode VII"?

First, here's what we knew going into the teaser:

» "Star Wars Rebels" will premiere on Disney XD in 2014. » The CGI animated show is set between "Revenge of the Sith," and "A New Hope."

» It's executive produced and written by Simon Kinberg, who wrote "X-Men: The Last Stand," and is rewriting the upcoming "Fantastic Four."

And that's pretty much it. With the teaser, though, we do get a sweet voiceover explaining part of the premise: "To battle the Empire, a Rebel Alliance will form, The Jedi will rise, and you will know the power of the Force. Star Wars! Rebels! Coming in 2014 to Disney XD."

So included in those shocking revelations is that the Rebel Alliance that shows up in "Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope" will be in "Star Wars Rebels." Also, there will be stars. And wars.

Slightly weirder is the phrase, "The Jedi will rise," particularly considering "Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" ended with the Jedi being hunted to the edge of the galaxy — and by the time "A New Hope" starts, there's approximately two of them: Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Yoda. And that's it. Potentially there could be other Jedi hiding throughout the Galaxy, but watching Darth Vader hunt down and kill Jedi Knights is what we'd characterize as ...

‘Walking Dead’: We’ve Got The Scoop On ‘Twisted’ Season Four

The new season of "The Walking Dead" is shambling toward us faster than... well, a fast-moving zombie. In advance of Sunday's premiere, we chatted with executive producer Gale Anne Hurd by phone, who told us all about what makes this season different, bigger and better. She also gave us some teases for fans of a certain character played by Norman Reedus. That would be Daryl.

But first, one of the biggest question marks going into season four was the promotion of writer Scott Gimple to showrunner. "He wrote many of our favorite episodes," said Hurd. "What's great about Scott is that he combines the ability to write great, almost intimate character moments within larger epic tableaus."

Hurd also cited his experience in both film and television as an asset. Gimple has written for "Flashforward" and "Drive" on TV, and co-wrote "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" for film.

"There's a sense of completion in his episodes," continued Hurd. Gimple's strength according to Hurd is that he can put a definitive endpoint on an episode, while still balancing the serial aspects that are inherent in creating a season of television — not an easy task by any means.

'Walking Dead' Web Series Explains Crucial Moment From Episode One.

Also different about this season? Who gets their time in the sun. Hurd noted that viewers should look for characters like Tyreese, Carol and Beth to step up this year in a big way, alongside Rick, Daryl, and the others. Which means that we're going to see an end to the Rick-tatorship from season three... at least ...

Miley Cyrus: Four More Bangerz You Have to Listen To!

For months, everyone has been talking about everything from her twerking to her tongue, but now, Miley Cyrus can let the music speak for itself.

On Tuesday (October 8), she released her fourth album, Bangerz, but in a way, it should be considered a debut album, since this is a Miley Cyrus we have never seen before. The "Miley: The Movement" star has completely shed her Hannah Montana image. In its place is a 20-year-old that is confident, focused and knows exactly what she wants.

Cyrus holds nothing back on Bangerz, as she blends pop, hip-hop and even a little country over sweeping ballads and club-ready tracks. There is no question that Miley can really sing, as she shows off her impressive vocals. The album is interlaced with features including Britney Spears, Future, Big Sean and Nelly, proving not only to her fans, but critics, exactly what kind of artist she intends to be.

Smilers have already listened to the lead tracks, "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball," countless times, but there is much more to Bangerz, which is why MTV News has broken down four more tracks you need to listen to.

"SMS (Bangerz)" Featuring Britney Spears
Former Disney stars Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears join forces on the Mike Will Made It-produced track, "SMS." With a beat reminiscent to Salt-n-Pepa's 1987 hit, "Push It," the girls "strut their stuff" over a heavy beat. Miley kicks it off by rapping, "They ask me how I keep a man/ I keep a battery pack." Britney then brings in her signature vocals, ...

Panic! At The Disco Are A New Band (Again) On Too Rare To Die!

The history of Panic! at the Disco is a complicated one, filled with firings and departures, stylistic shifts and sophomore slumps, and, of course, plenty of punctuation-related drama.

In part, all that upheaval was to be expected: More often than not, it's what happens when a band experiences such overwhelming success at such a young age. And yet, the continued change has put Panic! in a rather unique space ... to date, they've recorded four albums — their newest, Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! is in stores Tuesday (October 8) — and each time, they've done so as an entirely different band.

After their A Fever You Can't Sweat Out debut, they made the underrated Pretty. Odd. with new bassist Jon Walker (and an increased focus on pastorals and psychedelics). By the time they hit the studio to make Vices & Virtues, Walker and founding guitarist Ryan Ross had split, leaving Panic! with just two members: dramatic frontman Brendon Urie and steady drummer Spencer Smith, who did their best to make a symphonic Steampunk album.

Now, with Too Rare, Panic! is primarily Urie's project. Smith battled substance abuse issues throughout the recording, and, by his own admission, he didn't contribute much when he was present (in August, Smith announced he was leaving the band to focus on his recovery).

So now, it's up to Urie to shoulder the load. And he's more than up to the task ... because if anything, the new Panic! at the Disco is a showcase for ...

Why Lady Gaga’s Koons ARTPOP Cover Will Make Her Forever ‘Iconic’

In her ARTPOP single "Applause," Lady Gaga sings: "One second I'm a Koons fan, then suddenly the Koons is me" — a statement that came true when she revealed her album art Monday (October 7).

The Jeff Koons-designed cover features a statue of Gaga created by the artist, immortalizing Mother Monster in hisart. This team-up proves Gaga isn't just a "flash in the pan," curator and Koons scholar Lynne Warren told MTV News.

"Jeff is very — he just has this sort of laser sense about popular culture," Warren told MTV News. Unlike Andy Warhol, who was prone to depicting those who enjoyed the proverbial "15 minutes of fame" in his art, Warren said that Koons is more discerning about his subjects. Example? Koons also created a statue of King of Pop Michael Jackson in the late '80s.

"Jeff seems to have really good senses to choose people who are not only at the height of their careers, but are going to be iconic," Warren said. "They won't be remembered just because he made art out of them, they will be remembered on for their own contributions. He must feel like Lady Gaga is not going to be a flash in the pan."

Gaga revealed the art — which features a nude statue of the singer surrounded by a deconstructed image of Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus," a shiny lawn ornament between her legs — on her website and billboards around the world. The statue will make its debut on November 10 at an ARTPOP album release party.

The imagery in ...

Paris Hilton Gets Wet With Lil Wayne In ‘Good Time’ Pool-Party Vid: Watch!

If there is one thing we learned from Paris Hilton's new music video, is that the heiress certainly knows how to throw a party.

The video, which premiered a day early on Rolling Stone, has Paris flaunting her figure in a barely there bikini as she throws an epic pool-party bash, complete with glow sticks, bottles and a 10-foot-tall robot, otherwise known as Kryoman.

"The video is so sexy and so much fun, I really wanted it to be colorful and full of life and my friend Kryoman flew out to be in it and he just makes the video so much fun like spraying all the CO2 canisters," Hilton recently told MTV News. "He is the party machine basically. I love him. I've watched him. He performs with all the biggest DJs around the world, like [David] Guetta, Avicii, Calvin Harris so it was really cool to have him in my video because I know everyone in the dance scene really knows him and just having him part of the party scene is really dope."

Not to be outdone by Kryoman, Cash Money labelmate Lil Wayne appears in the video, which was shot over a span of 24 hours, along with YMCMB president, Birdman, who chills behind Weezy during his verse.

"It was amazing, we had a great time," Hilton said of shooting the video with Wayne and Birdman. "The set was so much fun, we had so many interesting things happening and I loved all the wardrobe, there were so many gorgeous outfits. It was just a party ...

Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz: The Reviews Are In!

Seems like everyone's got an opinion about Miley Cyrus ... and that was before anyone actually got to hear Bangerz, her first album in more than three years and one of the boldest attempts at career reinvention in recent memory.

After all, Miley has made no attempt at hiding her aspirations with this album: It's her declaration of independence, her attempt at pushing pop music forward. It's also the opening salvo in her bid to become the biggest pop star on the planet. As she told the cameras in her recent MTV doc Bangerz "is bigger than just a record, it represents taking over the world."

And ambition like that is bound to have folks talking — no wonder she's pop's most polarizing star. So what are critics and fans saying about Bangerz? Here's a round-up of some early reviews:

'A Pop Blitz From A Hip-Hop Blueprint'
As you'd probably expect, critics keep finding new and interesting ways to weave Miley's very public persona into their reviews of her record, though several have also used that space to praise the production work on Bangerz, its personal subject matter and effortless blending of hip-hop and pop.

"Bangerz, is the onetime Disney star's fourth studio album, but her first as the master of her own destiny and — with two lead singles already landing at No.2 and No.1 — a pacesetter in music," Nick Catucci writes in a glowing review for Entertainment Weekly. "It's also utterly fresh, a pop blitz from a hip-hop blueprint, and proof that Miley won't settle for ...

Paris Hilton Doesn’t ‘Give A F—‘ With Lil Wayne In ‘Good Time’: Listen!

Paris Hilton and Lil Wayne's new YMCMB friendship has Weezy yelling out, "It's Paris Hilton, bitch!"

In the heiress' new "Good Time" track, which made its way online on Monday (October 7), she enlists Wayne for an all-out dance party — think Vegas nights or Miami clubs, sexy pool parties, light shows and lots and lots of booze — all of which Hilton sums up as a "good time."

The song is entirely electronic, with amped-up synths, hand claps and plenty of Auto Tune. "I might be a bit tipsy, but that's OK 'cause you're with me," she sings. Later, it seems like Wayne is seeing double too. "I'm f---ed up, can't tell you what's what." His intoxicated-inspired continues: "All she know is suck, f---/ I walked up to her big butt/ And asked her ass butt what?" And did he just jack Britney Spears' catchphrase by proclaiming, "It's Paris Hilton, bitch!"?

"Good Time" is Hilton's first of new music with Cash Money. On the label, she'll release an album in 2014. And when she hit MTV News to talk about her future plans, she gushed that it was an "honor" working with her new labelmate Lil Wayne.

"I love being in the studio. Music has always been a huge passion of mine," Hilton said. "So to be having my new single out with Lil Wayne, it's just such an honor, and I'm so excited for the world to hear it."

Are Paris Hilton And Birdman Getting Married?

A neon-splashed teaser clip for the video hit the 'Net last ...
