Zac Efron Endorses Batman Over Superman

In two years, moviegoers will witness one of the most anticipated superhero showdowns of all time: Batman versus Superman, in the still untitled "Man of Steel" sequel.

On paper, the outcome might seem obvious. How can any mere mortal hold a candle against the god-like Kal-El? Then again, Batman always has tricks up his sleeve, back-up plans for his back-up plans — and, most importantly, high-profile fans.

Ahead of the MTV Movie Awards this weekend, we sat down with the stars of the new comedy for an all-day MTV Takeover, asking them about some of their controversial preferences in a friendly neighborhood game of "Would You Rather." When MTV's Josh Horowitz asked Zac Efron to weigh in on one of the most hotly-debated nerd-fights of all time — would you rather be Batman or Superman — Efron snapped back without skipping a beat:

"I'm Batman," he said in his best Christian Bale voice.

There you have it, folks: If Efron picks Batman over Superman, what's the point of even going forward with the "Man of Steel" sequel? The verdict is in!

Our game of "Would You Rather" unearthed some other interesting revelations, including one involving Superman's own father — or at least the man who plays him. Seth Rogen was asked who he would rather go up against in battle: "Man of Steel" veteran Russell Crowe, or Crowe's fellow Australian native (and Rogen's on-screen wife in "Neighbors"), Rose Byrne.

"Rose, easily," Rogen laughed, sitting right next to Byrne as he gave his answer. "I have 300 pounds on her!"

Even if ...

Palaye Royale Thank Their ‘Cult’ Of Fans For MMM Win

Hey there, Soldiers of the Royal Council: Musical March Madness champs Payale Royale just want to let you know that you are all family — maybe a little in the cultish sense.

"We have such a loyal fan base — we're a close-knit family cult kind of thing," Emerson Barrett told MTV News after finding out that the unsigned band beat out Linkin Park for the title. "A little bit like the Manson family. Our fans would coordinate and schedule mass voting periods. They were very set on us winning and it paid off."

Palaye Royale was definitely the Dark Horse of the epic MTV tournament, which crowned Ed Sheeran last year as the winner. A uniquely DIY band, the trio from Vegas writes and records all their own music, shoots and edits their music videos and has been steadily building up their fanbase online since day one. That dedication helped them beat out the likes of Tokio Hotel, Vampire Weekend and Coldplay in our tournament — and, ultimately, Linkin Park.

"We're very personable," Sebastian Danzig told MTV. "As an unsigned band you have no one exploiting you; it's just creating music, editing all our videos and keeping the connection with the fanbase. I think there's something pure and honest about the music we're doing and the work we're doing — it resonates with a group of people that actually want to see it succeed."

"The youth does want to see a revolution and I think we are the band to do that," Barrett added.

When the guys ...

‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Exclusive: Beware The Sinister Six

In a few short weeks, Peter Parker will engage in his toughest battle yet, spinning webs against the likes of Max "Electro" Dillon, an armored-up Rhino, and even one of Peter's oldest friends, Harry Osborn, the newly-minted Oscorp leader who undergoes a terrible transformation of his own.

But by our count, that's only three villains — shouldn't there be at least three more, if we're talking about the Sinister Six?

That's right: Sony has its eyes on a new "Spider-Man" spinoff franchise of its own, "Sinister Six," centered on some of Spidey's most notorious villains. Will we see all six of these nemeses rally in or will we have to wait until years from now for that get-together?

Find out with us in the latest chapter of "MTV's Secrets Revealed: The Amazing Spider-Man 2," all about Spidey's Sinister Six.

What We Know
"Cabin in the Woods" filmmaker Drew Goddard has been linked to writing and directing a "Sinister Six" movie, though any further details beyond that point are unknown. What is known, however, is that Sony plans to launch a "Sinister Six" movie in the future, as part of an initiative to release new "Spider-Man" movies on a faster schedule.

Which Spider-Man rogues can we expect to see in the "Sinister Six" film? At this point, it's impossible to say. And don't bother asking Andrew Garfield if we'll get the answer in "Amazing Spider-Man 2."

"Do you really want to know," he asked MTV's Josh Horowitz, "or do you just want to see ...

Drake’s Feeling Confident About Hosting The ESPYs–And He Wasn’t Wearing A UConn Shirt

After hosting SNL in January, Drake is feeling confident about hosting the ESPYs, but he also wants to clear up a rumor that he betrayed the Kentucky Wildcats by wearing a UConn shirt after his team lost in the NCAA finals.

The YMCMB rapper appeared on ESPN's "NBA Countdown" Wednesday night, where he didn't waste any time addressing the photo that circulated after the finals.

"I took a picture with Rip Hamilton, he was wearing a UConn shirt and I was wearing a James Young logo Kentucky shirt, but the James Young logo looks like a 'U,'" he explained. "So just understand I was not wearing a UConn shirt. I am about the institutions when it comes to college, so I support my Wildcats."

Is that so hard to believe, after seeing that sad photo of when the Wildcats lost?

That was a tough game for him, but he has plenty to look forward to, like hosting the annual ESPYs in July.

"It's been a dream of mine for a long time," he explained. "I watched a guy that I look up to in every aspect of life — Jamie Foxx — do it and I always say if I can follow in his footsteps that'll be a great career for me, so I was blessed with the opportunity to do it. "SNL" gave me the confidence to do it."

Hosting an awards show isn't the easiest task, but Drake doesn't seem to be too worried about it. During her hosting gig at the Oscars, Ellen made the Internet go ...

Watch Nirvana On Fallon Before Their Rock Hall Induction Tonight

Thursday night (April 10) is going to be a special one for Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic. It's the night their band Nirvana will join some of their biggest influences (Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Lead Belly) as members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

But, of course, they'll be doing it as a duo and without singer/guitarist Kurt Cobain
, who was found dead following his suicide 20 years ago this week. The pair visited the "Tonight Show" on Wednesday to have a chat with host Jimmy Fallon and they said that while they're excited about the honor, it is also a tough time for them.

Grohl, wearing a jean button-down and black jeans and Novoselic, in jeans, a black shirt and bowler hat, took their seats on the couch as the Roots played the theme song from Teen Spirit deodorant.

"That's crazy," Grohl said when Fallon brought up the Rock Hall honors. "It's exciting, it's also bittersweet too because our friend Kurt's been gone for 20 years," added bassist Novoselic. "So it's a good way to remember him. He should be here."

Grohl, who grew up in Virginia, said before he joined, he'd heard about Nirvana and loved the band's debut, Bleach. Then Novoselic talked about how both he and Cobain were "weird" kids in high school because, "we thought the world was weird so we gravitated towards each other. We loved punk rock music, and everybody else hated punk rock music."

Asked to recall the moment that they knew Nirvana was huge, Novoselic said the band's label initially printed 50,000 ...

Every Amazing Moment From Our ‘Hercules’ Clip In GIFs

Have you watched the MTV Movie Awards Takeover clip for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's "

Here are our favorite bits you may have missed:

"Do I Look Afraid?"
No, The Rock. You don't. We're not quite sure what kind of character arc Hercules will have in the movie, but unlike some heroes we can mention we don't think it'll be dealing with being scared of using his superhuman powers.

You And What Army?
Oh, that army. "Hercules" isn't skimping on the man-power, as this clip just gives a tease of the massive armies at the title character's disposal.

We Ain't Lion
Is The Rock the only man alive who could put a lion's head on his own head and make it look awesome? Probably. Here's hoping we find out how he got it, and it doesn'tjust involve Hercules visiting a store called "Lion Lids."

Attack Of The Clones
Speaking of armies, seems like it isn't just Hercules with men at his back: here we get a sense of a massive, insane barbarian army who will try and take Herc down.

I Scream, You Scream
...But mostly this guy screams. As the whole scene — but this shot in particular — ably shows, the movie is willing to mix genres, throwing in a little horror when necessary.

Paging Admiral Ackbar
Speaking of tones, it also looks like the movie won't shy away from humor. Here, Autolycus (Rufus Sewell) makes a quick 180 when he sees the barbarian army, quipping, "...and we've walked into a trap."

Groundskeeper Willies
There's one way ...

‘American Idol’ ’80s Recap: The Bad, The Rad And The Totally Tubular

"American Idol's" top 8 part deux took on the 1980s on Wednesday (April 9), revisiting a time "where Instagram, Snapcahat, even the selfie did not exist," as Ryan Seacrest described it at the top of the show. (By that definition, he could also have been talking about 2004, but who's counting?)

Former "Idol" champ David Cook guided the competitors through the decade that none of them were alive to experience themselves. Who was tubular and who was totally bogus? Here's a recap.

Jena, Caleb Rock
On a night with no breakout moments, Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson — who opened and closed the show, respectively — gave the night's two best performances. As the weeks go on, Irene and Johnson are starting to look like the only contestants with a shot at going all the way. (And they'll have to get there on their own, now that the judge's save has been taken out of the mix.)

Irene's version of "I Love Rock and Roll" started out with her on the piano, singing a very un-rock and roll take on the classic, but her powerful vocals took over in the song's final two-thirds and she commanded the song. Although she didn't need to rework it, the changes earned her stylistic points, and her instincts at this point are perhaps the sharpest of any of the contestants.

Johnson's performance of Journey's "Faithfully" was a no-brainer, straight down the middle, big take on the power ballad. No tricks, no gimmicks, and even a little safe, but Johnson did well and will likely stay in ...

Need To Know: Amanda Bynes Is Drug-Free, Off Meds

Amanda Bynes Is Drug Free
The actress, who famously had a seemingly psychotic episode last year and was admitted to a psychiatric hospital, is now on zero medication. Amid rumors of bipolar disorder and Schizophrenia, Bynes' mother said her daughter has "no mental illness whatsoever" and, to prove it, has taken her off all meds. If not mentally sick, then what caused the erratic behavior? Bynes' mother claims "chronic alcoholism" and weed.

Big Sean & Naya Rivera Call Off Engagement
The rapper and "Glee" star, engaged since 2013, have called off the wedding. But have they broken up for good? Big Sean's rep made a confusing statement when he said, "Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately." Is there hope for the lovebirds? Rivera has yet to comment on the matter.

Katherine Heigl Sues Store For $6 Million
The star is suing Duane Reed after the drug store chain tweeted out a picture of Heigl carrying some shopping bags. The tweet, which reads "Even @KatieHeigl can't resist shopping #NYC's favorite drugstore," features a paparazzi shot that Heigl is pretty pissed about. If she wins, the cash will go directly to her charity, The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, founded after her brother died in a car crash back in 2008.
