Arcade Fire’s ‘Reflektor’ Leaks, Band Still Plans To Salsa Tonight

For the past month, Arcade Fire have slowly been rolling out clues about their new album, first with a mysterious "REFLEKTOR" tag that's subsequently been spray-painted around the globe, then, a message to tune in at 9 p.m. on September 9, for the worldwide-premiere of the Anton Corbijn-directed "Reflektor" video, and finally, a rather dramatic (and shiny) rebranding as "The Reflektors."

So, you can imagine their disappointment when, less than 72 hours before "Reflektor" was set to debut, the song leaked. It seems someone took it upon themselves to rip the track from limited-edition 12" that was set to go on sale today — this is why we can't have nice things, people! — and though the grand unveiling didn't quite go as they'd planned, we're willing to bet that somewhere, Arcade Fire are delighting in the discussion their brand-new single is creating.

Because, "Reflektor" certainly represents a new direction for the band ... with its slipstream synthesizers, constant conga beat, four-on-the-floor focus and heavy horn section, it showcases a dancier side of the oft-serious art rockers.

Of course, it's still plenty dark, too — with Win Butler keening "Trapped in a prism/In a prism of light/Alone in the darkness of White" (lyrics that were, in part, revealed on the back of the "Reflektor" 12") and his wife Regine adding the odd, ethereal line in French — not to mention a cameo from David Bowie, whose voice adds a dour tone to the proceedings.

The song also doesn't seem to stray far from many of the subject ...

‘Breaking Bad’: Who Will Die Next Week?

Of course Uncle Jack and the white supremacists were going to show up! The bullet-ridden finale had the kind of inevitability that made Sunday night's episode of "Breaking Bad" so difficult to watch without covering your face with your hands.

Next week's episode is a little harder to predict thanks to the cruelly perfect timing on the cliffhanger. The only person we know who walks away from the shootout in "To'hajiilee" is Walter. Everyone else could potentially be taking a dirt nap not far from Heisenberg's buried barrels of money, but we've got some guesses as to who that might be.

Steve "Gomie" Gomez - 1 to 5 There's no way that that many bullets get fired and someone doesn't die, and when that many white supremacists point their rifles and an automatic shotgun at the DEA agents, at least one of the good guys is going down. With Marie fully aware of the secret mission to bring down Walt, Gomie is fully expendable. He's enough of a minor character to die without it being too much of a downer, and his death would be enough to force Walt to leave New Mexico. Sorry, Gomie. You were an OK cop.

White Supremacist Kenny - 1 to 3 Uncle Jack's buddy (and, like Jesse Plemons, a "Friday Night Lights" alum), Kenny is without a doubt the Gomie of the white supremacists. Someone needs to die from each side to show that the shootout was actually deadly instead of the miss-a-thon that we saw at the end of this episode. If Hank or Gomie are ...

Bruno Mars’ Super Bowl Halftime Gig: Who Should He Get Jersey With?

Bruno Mars has been big time for a while. But over the weekend the
singer landed the most mega gig there is: the Super Bowl halftime show. The Hawaiian native will log some serious frequent flier miles next year when he begins rehearsals for the February 2 game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The Grammy and VMA-winning singer will join a list of recent megastars who've played the gig, including: Beyoncé
, U2, The Who, Madonna, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Prince and, in 2009, Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen.

And while the announcement of his addition to that roster has caused a bit of rumbling from some disgruntled Jerseyites who are mad that organizers didn't choose amore Tri-State appropriate act, we here at MTV think there's plenty of room for Mars to pay tribute to the New York/Jersey area while still doing his thing.

Here's a list of our dream collaborators for the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show.

Wyclef Jean/Lauryn Hill: First the good news: Hill will definitely be done with her prison sentence for tax evasion
by the time the Super Bowl comes around. And though her "Neurotic Society" single was a failed comeback attempt, there is nothing more Jersey than getting her to finally reunite with fellow South Orange native Wyclef Jean for a mini Fugees reunion, with Mars acting as the pop peanut butter holding that fragile sandwich together.

Bon Jovi: Let's face it, a lot of people though that Jon and the boys were a shoo-in for this job. I mean, what's ...

Lady Gaga Goes ‘Over The Rainbow’ During Theatrical ‘GMA’ Performance

Lady Gaga is no stranger to unforgettable performances. And on Monday (September 9) she added one more to her long list of stage spectacles. She took the stage on "Good Morning America" to put a very old Hollywood spin on her latest single, by paying homage to the 1939 Judy Garland classic, "The Wizard of Oz."

Wearing a blue-and-white gingham dress like Dorothy's, she first performed "Over the Rainbow" with her real dog, Fozzi, serving as a Toto stand-in. She sang the track to the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man (who would later serve as her back-up dancers) before declaring, "Well, I live for your applause. Shall we make our way to Oz?"

The theatrical performance included audience members wearing poppy hats and, of course, a yellow brick road. At one point she changed out of her Dorothy attire to rock a Glinda the Good Witch dress and then stripped down to her black to defeat the Wicked Witch of the West. It was all capped off when she re-emerged in her Dorothy gingham with big hair and a bow.

Gaga was back after her eye-catching performance of "Applause" to chat about why she wanted to pay homage to the iconic flick, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary. "I think it really is an explanation, in a way, for my entire career so far, even with the VMAs performance and then the transformations that were happening today," she said. "It's like my way of saying all of these outfits and all of these wigs ...

‘Riddick’ Gives Vin Diesel His Third #1 Weekend Of 2013

It looks like the third time was definitely the charm for Vin Diesel.

The "Fast & Furious" franchise star scored his third #1 weekend of 2013 with his third turn as the gritty antihero from "Pitch Black" and "The Chronicles of Riddick." The latest installment in the sci-fi series, a combination of the intimate vibe of the first film and the grandiose mythology of the second, collected an estimated $18.6 million during its first weekend at the box office.

On the heels of the success of "The Fast and the Furious" and "xXx," Universal opted to spend a reported $105 million making 2004's "The Chronicles of Riddick," the first entry in a proposed trilogy expanding on Diesel's breakout supporting character from "Pitch Black." The movie was ridiculed by most critics and earned a soft $57.7 million during its domestic run. But thanks to Diesel's revitalizing triumphs in the bigger-than-ever , Universal came back onboard to distribute the much cheaper "Riddick."

"Once we realized we were not going to be a studio picture and we were going to be an independent movie, it became daunting and exciting," writer/director David Twohy told the Hall H crowd at San Diego Comic-Con, speaking of the pre-distributor genesis of "Riddick." "Production meetings were in Vin's kitchen. He'd roam around, trying not to smoke his American Spirits."

The same weekend last year did only 71 percent of the overall business of this past weekend; this weekend, however, was still 2013's smallest. The first weekend in September is typically slow, with kids going back to ...

Eazy-E And ODB At Rock The Bells: The Secrets Behind Their Holograms

Even if you don't know Chris "Broadway" Romero's name, hip-hop fans most certainly know his work. This past weekend, Romero was an essential part of a team that thrilled the crowd at the Rock the Bells festival in Los Angeles, by helping to bring fallen rap legends Eazy-E and Ol' Dirty Bastard back to life.

Eazy was reunited in spirit and hologram with his protégés Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on Saturday night, while ODB rejoined his Wu-Tang Clan on Sunday. The holographic effect was months in the making and was done with the help of Rock the Bells organizers Guerilla Union, the families of Eazy and ODB as well as Romero and Play Gig-It, the company behind the music-based Facebook game.

For Romero however, the journey started in 2001 when he was tasked with animating the late Big Pun for his posthumous "How We Roll" music video for his posthumous Endangered Species LP. "In 2001 I was sitting with Fat Joe in the back on an Italian restaurant... it was kind of the same types of conversations I have now with Eazy-E and Dirty's family," Romero told MTV News. "They have the same concerns that Fat Joe and Big Pun's people had with his legacy 12 years ago. I carry that reputation and that desire to keep extending the legacies for artists who aren't here."

Since animating the Pun video, Romero began making a name for himself directing videos like "Piggy Bank," "I Get Money" and "Ok You're Right" for 50 Cent. Last year he hooked up with Play Gig-It CEO John ...

Lil Twist Won’t Let The ‘Bullsh–‘ Justin Bieber Stories ‘Crumble’ Him

Lil Twist has been making plenty of headlines, and most of the time, it isn't because of his music. The Young Money rapper has run into some legal trouble and has seen his friendship with Justin Bieber come into question, with many sites and news outlets often dubbing Twist a bad influence on the pop star. Still, the 20-year-old doesn't let the bad press get to him.

"They're doin' their job, man. They're doing what we do," Twist told MTV News of the publications and online outlets that he feels shine him in a bad light. "Like how we go to the studio and we go and record to make music and we make money off of that to support our families; if they didn't come up with bullsh-- stories and post it, they can't get no money from it."

In May, he was stopped for speeding while driving the Biebs' Ferrari, and in July, Twist was arrested for a DUI while driving Justin's high-end vehicle. In August, he was named in a battery report. Twist couldn't speak to MTV News about any of the charges against him but did suggest that all the reports are accurate and that some reporters embellish on the facts — he didn't specify how.

"They just twist — they add some sh--, they add a lot of sh-- to a lot of stuff that comes out," he claimed. "I don't even pay attention to the media any more. I've been into a few accidents, I ran into a few mistakes, but I'm young. You ...
