Avicii Describes His ‘Straight-Away’ Attraction To ‘Wake Me Up’

Despite all the remarkable achievements 23-year-old Avicii has already attained, no one — not even Tim Bergling himself — could have predicted the contagious worldwide success of "Wake Me Up." The first single off the DJ/Producer's upcoming debut studio album is now #1 in 63 countries and is showing no signs of slowing down.

"Wake Me Up" is the first of its kind from the seasoned producer. After years of critically and commercially acclaimed releases in the electronic genre, Avicii shocked the world when he premiered the track at Ultra Music Festival and became their first EDM act ever to perform with live instruments. Although social media initially exploded with criticism and confusion, over time fans have truly come around to the electronic and country genre crossover.

"This is original, it is soulful and it is EDM," Mario Fernandez said of the track when Avicii announced its official release on Facebook. "It's nice to see a new spin on EDM and on country music," Benjamin Koenig added. "Keep up the musical creativity and the musical exploration and you will continue to explode on the EDM scene."

With the help of Incubus's Mike Einziger and Aloe Blacc, the song that has brought Avicii world renowned success was actually finished inordinately quickly, defying his usually lengthy production method.

"It all started with me and Mike Einziger from Incubus kind of playing around together in his studio in Malibu, and melodically we wrote the whole song, but we hadn't put any words to it," he explained to MTV News. "I was working with Aloe Blacc on ...

Drake Reveals Nothing Was The Same Track List Includes Jay Z Cameo

Drake started out Thursday morning (September 5) with a question he already knew the answer to, tweeting "Would You Like The Tracklist."

Of course we would like the Nothing Was the Same track list, Drake; we've only been clamoring for details surrounding your new album since you announced the title on the 2013 Grammy Red Carpet in February.

Drizzy's tweet came complete with a link to his new OVO Sound website, which presented to us 16 song titles, some of which we already knew. When fans download the album on September 24, they will start with "Tuscan Leather," a track where a single Whitney Houston sample is flipped in three different ways, according to Drake's right-hand Noah "40" Shebib.

Of course there is "Started From the Bottom," and on the deluxe there is the Big Sean and 2 Chainz-assisted "All Me." The track list also reveals that YMCMB producer Detail appears on a song called and Jay Z will appear on a track titled "Pound Cake." There doesn't appear to be any Wu-Tang features, but there is a song titled "Wu-Tang Forever."

Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, who both lent their vocals to Drake's first two albums, aren't credited on the tracklist that Drake posted, so it doesn't look like they'll appear. It is important to note that 2 Chainz and Big Sean aren't credited on the previously released deluxe track "All Me" either.

After releasing the cover art for the upcoming album featuring two profile portraits of himself — one current and one when he ...

Taylor Lautner Flaunts New Tats And Parkour Skills On ‘Tracers’ Set: Watch!

"Taylor Lautner, sounds a little far-fetched on paper. In the thriller, Lautner stars as Cam, a bike messenger up to his handlebars in debt who gets tangled up in the "dark world" of parkour.

But after seeing the kind of free-running moves that Lautner pulled off all by himself on set, it all made perfect sense to us. MTV News' Josh Horowitz was there on the New York City set of "Tracers" to find out what Lautner has been up to since we left behind the vampires and wolves of Forks, Washington.

It turns out that he's been practicing parkour a lot.

"The action difficulty is through-the-roof because most people think parkour is just, 'Oh, yeah. That's just running and jumping off of walls and buildings or something.' But they take it very seriously," Lautner said. "If a parkour artist heard you say that, they'd be very offended. I mean, it is an art form to them. It required a lot."

And by the look of footage from the set, the work paid off. A short clip from filming shows Lautner running on top of — not through, on top of — traffic and somersaulting between cars and tractor trailers.

But for Lautner, "Tracers" wasn't just an excuse to show off a new skill. "This movie is a great mix [of acting and physicality]. I really wanted to do something that was different for me," he said. "When I read 'Tracers,' it was unlike anything I had done before. It's a very character-driven movie. It's dramatic. My character's journey throughout the thing is really ...

The word: "I think a lot of people were expecting a minivan record, you know, our wives are all soccer moms, and we're just out with the kids," KOL drummer Nathan Followill told MTV News. "But that's the great thing about people's opinions and imaginations: Half of them are going to expect it'll one way, and the other half are going to think something else.
