Watch Icona Pop Play The ‘I Love It’ Game!

Sure, Robin Thicke pretty much has the single of the summer on lock with "Blurred Lines." But Icona Pop's
is a really close second.

We figure you can't get it out of your head, and neither can we, so when MTV News caught up with the bubbly Swedish duo recently we had them play a game we're calling "I Love It/I Don't Care."

The rules were simple: we gave them topics from the news or pop culture, say, A-Rod's suspension, the cronuts craze, the Anthony Weiner sexting scandal or their thoughts on wearing maxi dresses in the summer heat, and they had to give a lighting fast answer of ... oh, you get the idea.

So check out what they had to say about all those topics and more, as well as their thoughts on their daredevil new video
for "Girlfriend" and Thicke's sultry cover
of "I Love It."

Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Control’ Verse: What We Learned

Kendrick Lamar shook up the rap world with his ear-popping verse on Big Sean's but while boasts of being king of both coasts and verbal warnings were issued to friends like Drake, J. Cole and Big Sean dominated the conversation, K-Dot's 64-bar rap marathon were packed with tons of goodies.

Now that we've had some time to sit with the epic verse, which dropped on Monday, MTV News examines the highlights. Here's what we learned.

Tupac Taught Me
What made the good kid go mad? It's hard to say. "Control" doesn't seem to be a beef record per se, but like the late Tupac, Kendrick spits with a competitive fire; he wasn't shy about calling out his targets by name either. Through it all he even makes reference to 'Pac's Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory album where he changed his name to Makaveli and took aim at everyone from the Notorious B.I.G. to De La Soul. "I'm Makaveli's offspring, I'm the king of New York," Lamar spits drawing clear comparisons to the fallen rap star.

Hey New York, Kendrick Claims The West Coast Crown Too
Sure Big Apple MCs took exception when Kendrick claimed the coveted "King of New York" title, but how do Cali spitters feel now that Dot also crowned himself king of the west? "I'm the king of New York/ King of the coast, one hand, I juggle both," he brags. Will any left coast spitters step up to the plate?

Dot Really Doesn't Like Molly
The good kid, m.A.A.d. city lyricist ...

Foxy Brown And Pusha-T Set To Storm ‘RapFix Live’!

It's been awhile since Foxy Brown sat down for an in-depth interview, and on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, the Brooklyn-bred rapper will make her first appearance on to chat with host Sway Calloway. Pusha-T will also be live in the studio to make an announcement about his anticipated debut album, My Name Is My Name.

Foxy Brown burst onto the scene with her 1996 debut album, Ill Na Na, followed by 1999's Chyna Doll and Broken Silence in 2001. Brown, born Inga Marchand, was signed to Def Jam when she was only 17 years old, appearing on hits like Jay Z's "Ain't No N---a" and teaming up with Lil Kim, Da Brat and Total for the now-infamous remix of "No One Else."

Later in her career, Foxy would deal with label woes, legal issues and sudden hearing loss that derailed her musical efforts — but the Don Diva is gearing up for her return, while pushing her latest single, "Band$$$ Up."

G.O.O.D. Music rapper Pusha-T will follow her appearance with a very special announcement about his upcoming solo album, My Name Is My Name, which will be released via Def Jam this year. Last year, Push previewed the single "40 Acres" for MTV News, and soon enough, fans will be able to hear it in full.

Catch Foxy Brown and Pusha-T on "RapFix Live" Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV Jams and RapFix.MTV.com. Join the conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive and send your questions for the MCs to @MTVRapFix!

Lady Gaga Vs. Katy Perry: Why The A-POP-Calypse Means We All Win

First, the a-POP-calypse was advancing. Then, it was averted. But now that Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have dropped singles on the same day — within 13 hours of each other — it's probably time to go all once again ... because surely, the end is nigh.

Yet, 24 hours after the battle between and officially began, there have been no casualties, and fans are crawling out of their bunkers to discover that the pop landscape remains intact. It's almost as if the supposed war between Katy and Gaga was nothing more than — gasp! — a storyline created solely by the media, and, more importantly, that no matter how deep our desire to declare a winner in this conflict, there probably won't be one.

That's not entirely correct, mind you. There will be download figures to report, and first-week album sales to compare, and music videos to analyze ... someone will come out on top. But that's taking the short-sighted approach, focusing on a few rather unimportant aspects of a much larger picture: that the real winner in all this is you.

Because you are a fan of pop music. And for too long, pop music has been polite, with releases strategically staked months in to maximize profit margins and superstars performing elaborate footwork routines to avoid stepping on each other's (well-manicured) toes. Things have gotten pretty boring. Turns out, a little head-to-head competition is all we needed. It's unlikely that Katy heard Gaga's new song before it hit the airwaves (and ...

Katy Perry, John Mayer Are ‘Perfect Together’ On ‘Who You Love’

While the Katy Cats were out celebrating the release of Katy Perry's new single, and her upcoming performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on August 25, her duet with her on-again, off-again boyfriend John Mayer hit the 'net.

On the folky tune, from Mayer's upcoming August 20 album, Paradise Valley, the two singers trade lines about falling for one another. At the end of the track, Perry even lets out a little "love giggle." Fan Juliette told MTV News, "They're perfect together. I think that it's going to be a really big success."

Carlos added, "They're both good artists, and I think it's always a good idea to link [up on] a duet."

Katy's fans told MTV News they are excited to see Perry flexing her vocal cords on a genre of music she doesn't tend to explore very often. "Obviously, their music is very, very different, but I like a lot of Katy Perry's acoustic stuff, like 'Mannequin' from One of the Boys," Gabe said. "I'm really excited to see her bring those roots back. I'm all for love, and ... if they're happy, they're happy, and people should just let them be."

In addition to appearing on Mayer's album, Perry confirmed that the musician also played guitar on her October 22 album, Prism. Now, fans have two albums on which to listen to the singers make sweet music together. "I love it. I love John Mayer, love his music," Morgan said. "I was hoping they would collaborate on something anyway, so I love ...
