Amanda Bynes Hospitalized On Psychiatric Hold After Bizarre Incident In California

Actress Amanda Bynes was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold by California sheriff's deputies on Monday night after she set a small fire in a stranger's driveway.

According to Captain Don Aguilar of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, Bynes was "involved in a disturbance in a residential neighborhood last night in Thousand Oaks." Fire officials responded shortly before 9 p.m. to a report of a gas can on fire in a driveway and after investigating the incident and speaking to Bynes, 27, they determined that she met the criteria for a 5150 psychiatric hold. The homeowners have said that they had no ties to the troubled former child star.

A 5150 order places an individual under a 72-hour involuntary psychiatric hold, during which they are given a mental health evaluation. The order under the section of the California Welfare & Institutions Code allows for the involuntary hold when someone "make[s] statements that they're either a danger to themselves or others, or gravely disabled."

The same provision was used in 2008 on Britney Spears when the singer's erratic behavior sparked concern from family and officials. Aguilar said no medical aid was rendered at the scene and at this time no criminal charges have been made against Bynes.

According to TMZ, Bynes was carrying a "little red gas tank" at the time of the incident, during which she burned some of her clothing. Officials said it did not appear that the former Nickelodeon star's actions were a deliberate attempt to set the house on fire and that there was no damage to the home, ...

Riff Raff’s Guide To Vine: ‘Look Good, Feel Good … Eat A Lot Of Lobster’

Although video-sharing service Vine is replete with shaky, 6-second footage of dogs cavorting and children hamming it up, studded in there — like so many diamonds in a cheap plastic pair of shades — there is genius. And that genius is undoubtedly Riff Raff.

Jody Highroller is a Vine master — serving up 6-second bursts of majesty with every tap of the iPhone screen. From Dada-esque vids featuring Riff screaming, "I have most funza when by SELF!" to opulent displays of swags and snacks, Riff is definitely worth a follow — if you're not already one of his 417,000-plus Vine denizens. You can find him under "Riff Raff" on the app.

"Yeah, I've done a lot of Vines," Riff told MTV News, an unidentified woman by his side. "My personal favorite is the one where I'm in front of the camera and I look good."

The Raffster benevolently took some time out from suing the "Spring Breakers" team and prepping his debut album, Neon Icon, to impart on us some Vine-making tips, including, "You gotta be color-coordinated in all your videos," "Your socks have to match the girl that you're with," and "it doesn't matter what you're doing as long as you look good," leaving us with this sage advice: "Look good, feel good, make a lot of money, eat a lot of lobster."

Don't forget to Vine that lobster-eating, Riff. That has "instant classic" written all over it.

‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Star Benicio Del Toro Wants To Get Nerdy

The diverse cast of Marvel's upcoming space epic assembled this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, making their public debut in front of a giant room of adoring fans. That included recently cast Benicio Del Toro, who told MTV News he was just glad "to get invited."

Del Toro joined up with the three human Guardians — Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and Zoe Saldana — as well as a few other friends and foes, including Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan and Djimon Hounsou. We caught up with Del Toro following the mega panel, which also featured appearances by Tom Hiddleston as Loki and the star-studded cast of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and asked the respected actor how he felt when he got cast.

"I just love to get invited, you know?" said Del Toro. "I'm glad I'm invited to be a part of this film. I'm sure Djimon [Hounsou] feels the same way. We're very lucky to be a part of this"

Comic-Con is known for bringing never-before-seen footage of big-budget films to an adoring audience, but fans were still surprised to get a look at "Guardians" so soon. After only two weeks of filming, the audience was given a sneak peek at how the film is coming together. The footage screened at the panel showed Chris Pratt's character Star-Lord being taken prisoner by the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps, as well as the first appearance of the film's two all-CGI characters, Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

"I think that clip that I saw was different for me ...

Drake Removes J. Cole’s Autism Lyric From ‘Jodeci Freestyle’

It may have taken J. Cole a little while, but the self-proclaimed Born Sinner realized he was wrong for making light of those who suffer with autism and issued an apology for his Now, Cole's collaborator Drake has also stepped up and claimed responsibility.

"J.Cole wrote a beautiful and moving apology to individuals and families affected by autism who were understandably hurt by a verse in 'Jodeci Freestyle'. I share responsibility and offer my sincerest apologies for the pain this has caused," the Young Money MC wrote on his October's Very Own blog on Monday night.

Drake released "Jodeci Freestyle" back in June and featured Cole on the track. The song wasn't an official single, but one particularly lyric caught the attention of Autism Speaks, an advocacy organization. "I'm artistic, you n---as is autistic, retarded," Cole spit.

On Monday morning, Cole issued an apology after a petition that collected more than 4,500 signatures. "I do not believe that an apology is needed every time someone is offended, especially when that apology is really only for the sake of saving an endorsement or cleaning up bad press," Cole stated in a letter that he posted on his site. "With that said, this is not the case today. This letter is sincere. This apology IS necessary."

Now Drake vows to remove the controversial line from the song. "Individuals with autism have brilliant and creative minds, and their gifts should not be disparaged or discounted," he said. "This was a learning lesson for both of us, and I'm grateful for the ...

Beyonce Adjusts Her ‘Halo’ After Tangling With Fan Onstage

Beyoncé proved why she's the Queen during a Montreal stop on her Mrs. Carter Show world tour Monday night when she gracefully sang through a violent fan encounter.

As she was performing her 2008 hit "Halo," she got a little too close to a wind fan, and her curly locks got caught in the blades. But instead of stopping her performance, the singer pressed on as security guards and crew members stepped in to detangle the superstar from the machine.

Eventually she got unsnarled, and took to Instagram after the show to laugh off the unexpected moment, by re-writing the lyrics to "Halo."

The new version goes, "Gravity can't begin/ To pull me out of this fan again/ I felt my hair was yankin'/ From the fan that's always hatin'." The rewrite of the Ryan Tedder-produced track continued, "Virgin Remy & Malaysian/ Haaaa!/ I got snatched/ 2 snaps/ Goodnight all, B." (Virgin Remy and Malaysian are types of hair.)

It's hardly the first time that Bey has used social media to address tour-related incidents since kicking off the jaunt back in April. That same month, after she postponed a show in Antwerp, Belgium, the singer released a handwritten apology to her BeyHive.

As fans eagerly await news on her highly anticipated new album, Beyoncé's tour will chug along with dates slated right through the end of the year. She will play Boston on Tuesday night (July 23) and hopefully have worked out any and all potential fan snafus before show time.

Demi Lovato Clears Up Gosling, Channing Slander: I Go For ‘Ethnic Guys’ With ‘Edge’

Is it possible there are women in America who aren't madly in love with Ryan Gosling and Channing Tatum? Well, apparently there are, and one of them happens to be Demi Lovato. With the sound of gasps heard across the Internet, MTV News decided to get to the bottom of it.

Last week, the "Heart Attack" singer took over the BuzzFeed site, where she wrote a post titled "16 Signs You're Becoming Demi Lovato." In it, she admitted she loves Cinderella, thinks Kelly Clarkson is "amazing" and is still hanging on to her (very '80s) scrunchie. But she also dropped that bombshell, revealing she's not "particularly attracted" to Gosling or People's Sexiest Man Alive, Tatum.

"I'm not particularly in love with either one. To me, they're still kind of pretty boys. I just don't think they're just the most attractive men in the world," Lovato wrote in the post. "I'm a really big fan of Mickey Mouse; he's provided me with a lot."

We hit Philadelphia's Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Summer concert where the 2013 VMA nominee was performing last week and asked her to explain her comments about two of Hollywood's dreamiest leading men.

"They are really attractive — don't get me wrong. [But] they are not my type. I go for the bad-boy kinda thing, an edge," Lovato explained. "I'm not into muscle-heads. I'm into tattoos or ethnic guys or whatever, so it's not really my type but it doesn't mean they are not good-looking. They are so gorgeous; they are just not my type."

Lovato, who has ...

Batman And Superman Movie: Find Out The Superhero Sequel’s Title

At the Warner Bros panel during this past weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, Zack Snyder, the "Man of Steel" director, made the announcement that his follow-up to the Superman reboot would also feature Batman and strongly hinted that the two caped heroes would be at odds by inviting actor Harry Lenix to read a passage from "The Dark Knight Returns." The Bruce Wayne quote came from the famous scene of the two fighting, where Batman has the upper hand.

"I want you to remember, Clark, in all the years to come, in all your most private moments, I want you to remember your hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you."

If that wasn't confirmation enough of a hero battle, ComicBook.com is reporting that the film's writer, David S. Goyer, revealed at the Superman 75th Anniversary panel that the title will either be "Superman vs. Batman" or "Batman vs. Superman."

"So over in Hall H at the Warner Bros — I guess most people know now — at the end of the Warner Bros panel, Zack came out and he brought Harry Lennix, who plays General Swanwick in 'Man of Steel'.... Harry read a bit from [The Dark Knight Returns] and so the next film we're making," Goyer said. "We're already in pre-production, comes out in summer of 2015. We're actually not sure whether the title is 'Superman vs. Batman' or 'Batman vs. Superman.' That rematch, that combination, the two guys onscreen and that's happening."

ComicBook.com then did some more sleuthing to see ...

J.J. Abrams Sticking With ‘Star Wars’?

What happens at Comic-Con clearly doesn't stay at Comic-Con. After unconfirmed rumors emerged from the gathering over the weekend that director J. J. Abrams might be rethinking his gig as director of the
re-boot, Lucasfilm was quick to set the record straight.

"There is no truth to the rumor," Lucasfilm said in a statement on Monday about the stories that Abrams was possibly dropping out of the gig of a lifetime. "J.J. is having a great time working on the script and is looking forward to going into production next year."

Actor Harrison Ford, who knows a bit about the "Star Wars" universe after his stint in the original trilogy, put his muscle behind Abrams during a chat with MTV News
at San Diego Comic-Con. Though he was adamant about not discussing whether he'll be back in the Han Solo togs for the film, Ford said Abrams was absolutely the guy for the gig.

"I think he's a great storyteller ... he's developed an enormous filmmaking skill," said Ford. "I think it's a daunting project and he's the kind of guy that can take on huge challenges and deliver ... Wonderful guy, really happy that he's involved in the movie, even if I'm ... not."

Back in March, Abrams finally broke his silence on "Star Wars," saying he has a
for the movies that he loved while growing up.

"I feel like I can identify a hunger for what I would want to see again and that is an incredibly exciting place to begin a project," he said. ...

Cory Monteith Co-Star Jenna Ushkowitz Praises Actor’s ‘Love And Light’

As the cast of "Glee" prepares to get together for the first time since the death of Cory Monteith, the late actor's co-stars continue to share their memories of their friend. The latest is Jenna Ushkowitz, who has portrayed Tina Cohen-Chang on the show since its debut in 2009.

Under a photo of the smiling cast posted on her Instagram account, Ushkowitz, 27, wrote, "I am so grateful that 'Glee' brought this group of extraordinary individuals together to form a family. I was lucky enough to closely experience the love and light that Cory shared with the world, as well as having the privilege of traveling down the road together on a once in a lifetime journey."

Monteith was found dead
in his Vancouver hotel room last week after succumbing to what the British Columbia Coroners Service called "a mixed drug toxicity involving heroin and alcohol."

"Cory always reminded me to be gracious, kind and open, and he will leave a mark in my heart forever," she continued. "Thank you everyone for your constant support and love while we mourn the loss of our dear friend, and continued support to Cory's family, and to Lea."

A week after his death, "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy finally broke his silence last week. "You either deal with it head-on or you just disappear until January or February, and I think that's not what people need right now from a position of leadership," Murphy said at Comic-Con of plans to have the third episode of the upcoming season dedicated to Monteith's athlete-turned-Gleek Finn Hudson.

"We ...
