Selena Gomez Trying To Stay ‘Super-Private’ As New Justin Bieber Photos Make Headlines

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber continue to keep Selenators and Beliebers guessing about what exactly is going on between them. They initially made breakup headlines last November, but in the months since, they have redefined the term "on-again, off-again relationship."

New photos of the couple, taken earlier this month and just making the rounds on Tuesday (July 16), show the twosome snuggling at a Fourth of July bash held at a Hollywood Hills home. The photos, which seem to suggest that Bieber and Gomez have reconciled again, are making headlines just as Gomez is opening up about the paparazzi attention she receives.

"There'll be days where I'm not bothered at all and I can just go out with my friends to the movies or walk around the park," she told the British Guardian in a recent interview. "But when it gets frustrating, that's when I call Taylor [Swift]. Or Demi [Lovato]. Sometimes it will just be, like: 'Urgh, people are talking about me!' But then it feels gross [to complain], because it comes with what I love to do."

Even with the photos seeming to suggest a rekindling of the relationship, it's not just fans who are left guessing about the couple's status. Bieber's mom recently stopped by "The View," where she replied, "I know that it depends what day it is," when asked what exactly is going on between the two young stars.

With so much interest in her personal life, Gomez further addressed all the media attention. "Sure, I knew people would talk about ...

First, the iconic Moonman got a serious makeover from artist KAWS, and now the nomination for the top prize at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards is getting a facelift as well.

MTV is set to make history on Wednesday at 8 a.m. ET when the nominees for the night's top prize, Video of the Year, will be unveiled exclusively on MTV's Instagram and Vine accounts. It will mark the first time an awards show has ever announced nominations through those social media platforms.

Each hour after the Video of the Year reveal, MTV will post additional Instagram and Vine videos highlighting the nominees in other categories. It's just the latest in a series of iconic firsts for the 30th anniversary show, which will touch down in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center on August 25.

After the old-school Moonman made the trip from L.A. to New York earlier this summer to Barclays - where the VMAs will make history as the first major annual awards show to take place in the borough -- internationally famous artist and provocateur KAWS unleashed his one-time-only redesign of the show's trophy.

"It's such a strong, iconic thing. Everyone sees the Moonman and knows right off the bat what it is," KAWS told MTV News. "When I was first invited to do the project, I knew that I didn't want to create something new entirely, I wanted [to do] something you see that's immediately KAWS and immediately Moonman; people just get it."

KAWS' Moonman definitely sets a new standard. Cast in a striking gun-metal finish, ...

Justin Bieber Fans ‘Dying’ After Just One Taste Of ‘Heartbreaker’

Justin Bieber has kept fans in the dark when it comes to what his next single, will sound like — until now. On Monday, the singer finally gave fans a chance to hear 30 seconds of the slow-burning jam.

The tune serves as the soundtrack for the commercial for his new fragrance, the Key. Over an R&B-inspired beat, the singer repeats the word "heartbreaker." Manager Scooter Braun has said the song will end the critics' "witch hunt" against the 19-year-old.

Fans are eating the tease up. In the hours since Bieber dropped the commercial, which features him driving up to a hotel in a sports car and later romancing a young woman, they have been gushing over the clip.

"Justin only says 'Heartbreaker' in the commercial and we're already dying," @BiebersBrows wrote. "Just imagine our reaction when the full song comes out."

What surprised some fans was the way the song sounds. It doesn't favor some of Justin's other dance-music-influenced singles like "Beauty and a Beat" or "As Long as You Love Me," but instead has more of a "Boyfriend" vibe. @Iifenote wrote, "I didn't think heartbreaker would sound like that."

"Heartbreaker" serves as the first listen to Bieber's next album, currently dubbed his And it certainly has fans hyped for the release, which Braun has said will drop in a way that honors the Beliebers and will allow the pop star to really speak for himself.

"@justinbieber YO the clip of #heartbreaker sounds so sweet!" @jdbfeverforlife tweeted. "I CAN'T WAIT to hear the whole song! #BringItOn soon!"

But the tease ...

Exclusive: Panic! At The Disco Talk Dark, Decadent Too Rare To Die!

Panic! at the Disco last album was called Vices & Virtues, so this time, they're switching things up: their new record is very much about the virtues of vice.

Yes, from its title — Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! (taken from Hunter S. Thompson's apocalyptic ode to excess, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas") — to its thematic inspiration — Panic's Sin City roots — their new album is a decidedly dark, slightly depraved thing. And, as frontman Brendon Urie explained to MTV News, the band is delighting in all that decadence.

"The songs I was writing came from me seeing Vegas in a new light; I mean, when we left Vegas, we were 17, 18 and we were pretty bitter because we couldn't do all the things everyone else could. We couldn't play gigs, we weren't allowed in the bars, so we were pissed off," he said. "But in the past couple years I've visited Vegas quite a bit, and I started doing things I never thought I would do, like going out to clubs, and for some reason that really struck a chord with me. People go there to lose themselves in the moment, and drop their guard, and it hit me in a way. Like, 'Wow, I want to do that. I want to make music like that, that moves people, that's a party, that makes you feel good.'"

And yet, as is the case with most things in Las Vegas, there's a dark undercurrent running beneath those good times, and Too Rare To Die! ...

‘Divergent’ Set Visit Exclusive: Inside Shailene Woodley And Theo James’ ‘Magic’ Chemistry

If you haven't hopped aboard the train yet, you may want to hurry: The big-screen adaptation of Veronica Roth's best-selling young-adult novel is barreling down the tracks into theaters — gaining plenty of buzz along the way.

Set in a near-future Chicago in which society has been divided into five factions each representing a different virtue — Abnegation (selflessness), Erudite (intelligence), Dauntless (bravery), Amity (peacefulness) and Candor (honesty) — the story centers around 16-year-old Beatrice "Tris" Prior, who leaves her family's faction, Abnegation, for the daring world of the Dauntless.

Star Shailene Woodley's Tris is hardly the first dystopian dame to grace the silver screen, but when MTV News visited the set recently, the 21-year-old actress explained that she doesn't view her character as your prototypical hotshot heroine.

'Divergent' To Lead MTV's Comic-Con Live Stream. Check out the lineup HERE!

"The interesting thing about Tris is — I don't think she's a badass," Woodley explained. "She's not a superhero. She's not an action star, and I think that there is something really refreshing about bringing a very normal adolescent to life in a way where she has to rise to the occasion and find her brave heart and be really courageous in situations where she doesn't necessarily want to be."

Without the safety net of her family and childhood friends, Tris is forced to find a new support system within her faction, which comes to include love interest Four (Theo James) and pal Christina (Zoe Kravitz).

"I think when you find Four, he's extremely closed and kind of damaged and learned ...

In Spenzo We Trust Trades Chicago Violence For Hip-Hop

Main Pick

Headliner: Spenzo

Representing: Chicago, Illinois

Mixtape: In Spenzo We Trust

Real Spit: Don't let Spenzo's age fool you, the 18-year-old spitter may be young, but there's nothing kiddie about his raps. On Monday (July 15), the teen released his debut mixtape, In Spenzo We Trust, and it's reflective of the world around him.

"I'm just tellin' 'em my story, so it's gonna get picked up by the people that see what I see," Spenz told Mixtape Daily about his latest project. "They see the violence, they're growing up around it or they're being in the hood. They see everything I see."

On Sunday, a day before the tape was released, Spenzo's name began to trend on Twitter, a testament to his popularity. "At the Moment" is an appropriate ode to his newfound fame, as is the Sonny Digital-produced "Different Now." On the opening track, "Englewood," Spenz paints a picture of his former life in the hood. "They tryna trap up in the rap, how is that/ Dumb mother----er you still up in the trap," he spits in his unique drawl.

With "Clearly Now," the young MC shows a different side, telling the story of his absentee dad. "1995 I became a bastard/ My pappy, who knows I give a f---? Who knows I give a f---/ I turned 15 and met the one who had, but I was just too old to give a f---, too old to give a f---," he raps before giving props to his step-dad.

It's not all serious however. The Young Chop-produced "Wife Er" is a fun auto-tuned track ...
