Kanye West Gave ‘Pacific Rim’ ‘A Little Street Cred,’ Cast Says

Early reviews can make or break a potential blockbuster — especially a non-sequel like "Pacific Rim" — so you can imagine director Guillermo del Toro and the cast's delight when Kanye West decided to share his thoughts about the sci-fi epic with his Twitter followers.

"I saw a pre-screening of Pacific Rim yesterday and it's easily one of my favorite movies of all time," West wrote. "This is not another 'Robot' movie. Guillermo del Toro is a master."

MTV News asked del Toro, the so-called "master," at the red-carpet premiere for "Pacific Rim" what it was like getting such praise from West. "Anytime anyone likes my work, that really, really is very emotional for me because an artist not exactly a socially able person," he said. "We are dysfunctional, socially. We work for what we create. I work for my monsters. I work for my robots. To see people connect with them emotionally is a blessing."

The film's star, Charlie Hunnam of "Sons of Anarchy" fame, was just honored to hear from an artist he respects, especially as his career in movies is just taking off. "It doesn't get much cooler than Kanye West, so I certainly think it gives us a little street cred. It's just exciting. It's always exciting when, as an artist, you really respect and admire someone's work, and that kind of comes back," Hunnam said. "To have someone like Kanye, who I have been listening to for years, give us such a glowing endorsement was really, really exciting."

Some, as Charlie Day pointed out, were quick to ...

‘Ender’s Game’ Creator Orson Scott Card Responds To Boycott Threats

In the wake of a proposed ban on "Ender's Game," the upcoming science fiction opus adapted from Orson Scott Card, the author issued a statement Monday in an effort to redirect attention to the film — instead of some of his controversial statements about gay marriage.

In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Card said, "Ender's Game is set more than a century in the future and has nothing to do with political issues that did not exist when the book was written in 1984.

Responding in part to the recent Supreme Court decision to strike down anti-gay marriage legislation, Card declared the issue unsettled. "With the recent Supreme Court ruling, the gay marriage issue becomes moot," Card wrote. "The Full Faith and Credit clause of the Constitution will, sooner or later, give legal force in every state to any marriage contract recognized by any other state.

"Now it will be interesting to see whether the victorious proponents of gay marriage will show tolerance toward those who disagreed with them when the issue was still in dispute," he added.

Card's statement follows the announcement that he will not join "Ender's Game" stars Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, where they will unveil an extended look at some of its footage. Card's absence came as a shock to many in the sci-fi and fantasy community because of the strong presence of his work at the convention in past years. But it remains to be seen whether Card's response to those threats will assuage his opponents in the gay ...

Eminem On ‘Wild ‘N Out?’ Nick Cannon Puts In A Request

"Wild 'N Out" makes its big return to MTV2 on Tuesday (July 9) for a , and though the lineup of guests already includes artists like 2 Chainz and A$AP Rocky, Nick Cannon is putting in one big request for the king himself: Eminem.

In an interview with MTV News, Cannon explained that Joe Budden will appear on the new season, and he was hoping that Em would tag along as well.

"Joe Budden is always out there talking reckless so I think this is the perfect platform for him and I'm hoping he brings his boss Eminem with him. That'd be interesting. We've been looking for him to do the show."

"Interesting" is the key word here, as Cannon famously feuded with Eminem back in 2009 for throwing jabs at his wife Mariah Carey, who Em was rumored to date before she got hitched. It's all love though, as Cannon said that "Wild 'N Out" would be the perfect setting to put any issues to rest once and for all.

"First of all, we all know Eminem's hilarious. We know that," Cannon declared, going on to explain that he'd already asked Paul Rosenberg for a Slim Shady cameo.

"I actually asked his manager. I was in the elevator with his manager and was like, 'yo dude tell Em to come through. He's been talking greasy and this is the perfect platform for us to air it all out,' " Cannon said.

And just to prove that there was no ill will, the "Wild 'N Out" host even admitted that he would be ...

Kanye Calls Unofficial ‘Black Skinhead’ Leak ‘Heartbreaking’

Kanye West has spoken: That that leaked Monday (July 8)? It's not the official version.

West hit up Twitter Tuesday to officially announce that the dark, CGI-heavy clip that found its way online was not the final version of the upcoming video: "The BLKKK SKKKN HD video that leaked yesterday was not the official version," he tweeted first, then followed up with a series of tweets revealing that photographer/director Nick Knight directed the video ("Me and Nick Knight have been working on this video for 5 months and for creatives it's heartbreaking when something like this happens") and that the real version will drop within the next week.

He also demanded that all websites currently hosting the video take down "the unapproved/unfinished ruff" and had some colorful words for whoever leaked the vid in the first place.

The link that was flying around the Web Monday took fans to a Universal Music Group "development" page that has since been password protected.

Although West says that the video is "not the official version," it does seem that the full-frontal-boasting mini flick is, in fact, an iteration of the final product — judging by Kanye's tweeted request: "Allow me and Nick to give the world what we've been losing sleep over."

This is not the first time a Ye video has found its way online before it was ready for the eyes of the world. Back in 2010, a poorly synced, unfinished version of West's "Monster" video leaked to the public.

"They really have followed us in what was going on in our life, and so there's a lot of family stuff, a lot of stuff with me and my brothers. I'm in the studio. We're in and out of that, but really it's just the choices that we're making as a couple and how we're growing and continuing to build our future family."

The joyous news broke just one day before the band kicks off their ...
