‘Curse Of Chucky’ Trailer Hits The Web: Watch Now!

Just when you thought it was safe to buy your kid My Buddy — perhaps at a garage sale, since production stopped — the homicidal doll is back in "Curse of Chucky." Set for release on DVD and Blu-ray on October 8, the film premiered a trailer today which updates the "Child's Play" series for a whole new generation of terrified tots (and their unlucky parents and guardians).

In the trailer, which premiered Monday (July 8) on Mashable, a family moves into a new home, only to receive an unexpected package at the door. It contains a new doll, which the family's daughter immediately takes a shine to. Unfortunately, that doll, Chucky, is still possessed by the evil spirit of a deceased serial killer — thankfully played by Brad Dourif, who provided his, let's say, unhinged voice in all of the previous films. Numerous murders ensue in only the way that Chucky can, ahem, execute them, but not before he uses his adorable façade to ensnare a handful of unsuspecting parents and protectors.

Don Mancini, who created the little monster, returns as both writer and director, ensuring that the film exudes authenticity as it expands the mythology of one of the most unusual -- and yet enduring horror villains in the genre's history. Unfortunately, there's no indication that Chucky's bride, played by Jennifer Tilly, or his son, played by Billy Boyd, will appear in the film.

"Curse of Chucky" is the sixth film in the series, not counting three short films that Mancini created in 2005 and 2006. ...

50 Cent Isn’t ‘Afraid’ Of Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Change

Jay-Z has been waving his "new rules" flag around the release of his latest, Magna Carta Holy Grail, and the idea of shaking up the music industry has already resonated with many. 50 Cent, for one, welcomes it.

"You can't be afraid of change. I think the old way of doing things is not gonna work, but then you gotta create a plan for a new way. How are you gonna do it?" Fif asked rhetorically when MTV News asked him about his thoughts around Hov's digital rollout for Magna Carta Holy Grail on June 25, a week before anyone heard the project.

Jay partnered with Samsung to release the album on July 4 via a dedicated phone app available to Galaxy smartphone users. In exchange for the exclusivity, Samsung paid a reported $5 million to distribute 1 million digital copies of the LP to its users. The RIAA changed their rules and says they will immediately count those sales toward the album's platinum certification, while it will appear that Billboard will not count those "bulk" Samsung sales toward their albums chart — meaning that if Jay is to eventually earn a #1 spot for MCHG he can't do it off the back of those first 1 million sales.

Fif, who has built a reputation as a shrewd business man and successful mogul himself, doesn't side with Jay or Billboard, but suggests that the main thing that matters is the financial gain behind the deal. "I don't think you can take anything away from it — that idea," he said. ...

Lil Snupe Suspect #2 Arrested For Fatal Shooting

A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Meek Mill protégé Lil Snupe.

Edrick O. Stewart, a 21-year-old resident of Monroe, Louisiana, was booked into the Winnfield City Jail on charges of manslaughter Wednesday (July 3), according to a statement released to MTV News by the Winnfield Police. Originally, Snupe's suspected killer, 36-year-old Tony Holden turned himself into authorities on June 25 and was charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities are not releasing any further details on Stewart's involvement in the homicide at this time, but they did release a photograph of the accused. No bond has been set for Stewart at press time, but one is expected, as Holden, who is currently being held at another facility, was granted a $2 million bond that he was unable to post.

The shooting death of Lil Snupe (born Addarren Ross) at the Maplewood Apartments at 1901 South Jones Street in Winnfield, Louisiana, was the result of an altercation that erupted during a private video-game session a friend's apartment. The R.N.I.C. MC was in town visiting from Jonesboro when he was fatally shot twice in the torso.

Snupe was laid to rest at Jonesboro-Hodge High School in his hometown of Jonesboro, Louisiana, on June 29. Among the hundreds of mourners in attendance was Meek Mill, who had signed the promising 18-year old rapper to his Dream Chasers imprint on the spot late last year.

"I'm never one to talk at funerals," Mill said when presented with a resolution from Jonesboro ...

Jay-Z Goes ‘H.A.M.’ On Twitter, Says Magna Carta May Be Fourth Best LP

What started out as a pretty normal Twitter Monday got a jolt when the usually inactive Jay-Z popped up, randomly responding to fans for a few hours.

Prior to Monday (July 8), Hov suggested that he had met his "yearly allotment" of digital entries back on June 17, but with his Magna Carta Holy Grail album officially hitting stores on Tuesday, Jay shockingly hopped onto Twitter to answers some pressing — and some not so pressing — questions.

"Wait, isn't poaching elephant tusks illegal, though? #Oceans #MagnaCarta," Hiphopwired.com editor Alvin Blanco asked before Hov volleyed back for his first tweet of the day: "yeah, so is lying about American history, but I def digress. *my laugh."

While Jay loves Magna Carta, he wouldn't go as far to say that it's his best album, after all the man has so many to choose from. "Do you think MCHG is your best work," asked @Beyonce_Miami, who we suspect has zero relation to Jigga's wife.

"[Hard to beat RD, BP1, TBA. It can fight for 4th #factsonly]," he replied referencing his 1996 debut Reasonable Doubt, 2001's The Blueprint and 2003's "The Black Album."

When asked if he would recruit his dear friend the Notorious B.I.G. if he were still alive still alive, Jay seemed to get a bit emotional. "@thebeginnin Would BIG be on the #MCHG if he was here ?? [Are you going for tears???? wow.oh, sorry, absolutely. BK style]," he said before adding that he shot "6 pieces of art" (read: music videos) for the album.

Miley Cyrus’ ‘We Can’t Stop’ Gets Cleaned Up By Rebecca Black

Former viral-video sensation Rebecca Black has emerged from wherever she's been hiding — home school? Kathy Beth Terry's house? That sad place where dreams go to die? — with a brand-new cover of Miley Cyrus' salacious summertime hit

Of course, given her age (just 16) and her squeaky-clean persona, Black's not getting as down-and-dirty as America's reigning queen of twerk ... so instead of bumping and grinding against dudes with smoking crotches, RB simply sings the song, accompanied by a guy named "Jon D," who has very nice teeth and is almost certainly a youth minister. She's also replaced some of Miley's more, uh, not questionable lyrics with appropriately PG material, so "To my homegirls here with the big butts/Shakin' it like we at a strip club" becomes "To my homegirls here, living it up/Feeling alive and are in love," and Cyrus's "trying to get a line in the bathroom" line is removed entirely.

Instead, the focus is placed solely on Black's singing abilities — you can tell she's really going for it when she closes her eyes — which have definitely improved from her . And sure, that's not going to make for a particularly compelling bit of viral fodder — here's about the best thing we can say about Black's song: it's a sanitized, slightly sleepy ballad that really serves no point, but certainly doesn't offend , either — we suspect that's not the point. This is essentially a de facto audition tape (for just what, we're not ...

Tomorrowland 2013 Trailer: The Moon, The Stars And An EDM-Loving Wizard

The trailer for Tomorrowland 2013 hit the Internet on Monday (July 8), and the three-minute-plus clip makes good on its "ninth magical chapter" promotional copy with a wizard-like character whose fascination with planets is set against a backdrop of a full moon and a sky strewn with stars.

And while the three-day fest kicks off on July 26 in Boom, Belgium, the video, seemingly titled "The Arising of Life" borrows from another time and place. In addition to the otherworldly trailer, fans also got a preview of this year's Tomorrowland theme song when festival performer Pete Tong played it on Friday's episode of his BBC Radio 1 show.

A thumping, high-energy track, "Chattahoochee" was produced by headliners Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, who have been capturing the festival's uniquely international feel for the past three years with anthems like ("Chattahoochee" will be available on Beatport on July 22.)

Tomorrowland will offer stages for every EDM taste, including sets by Tiesto, Nervo, Steve Aoki, Zedd, Afrojack and former Swedish House Mafia members Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell. While MTV News won't get a peek at the Belgium festival grounds until the festival's start on July 26, our 2012 private tour should give a hint at what might be in store.

And as the voice in the 2013 trailer reminds us, "Just because you haven't seen something, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist!"

MTV VMA Moonman Reinvented By KAWS

The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards are coming to Brooklyn, and the borough's most influential artist is helping them feel right at home.

Internationally famous artist and provocateur KAWS has redesigned the VMAs' Moonman award, giving the silver spaceman his first facelift in 30 years. And for a guy who's reinterpreted everything from Mickey Mouse to the Michelin Man, not to mention worked with top brands like Nike and Marc Jacobs, taking on the Moonman was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.

"It's such a strong, iconic thing. Everyone sees the Moonman and knows right off the bat what it is," KAWS told MTV News. "When I was first invited to do the project, I knew that I didn't want to create something new entirely, I wanted [to do] something you see that's immediately KAWS and immediately Moonman; people just get it."

KAWS first rose to fame in the mid-90s with his graffiti tags and guerilla-style re-workings of bus stop advertisements — he'd literally pick locks to replace ads with his own work — around New York City, but he's lived and worked in Brooklyn for nearly a decade now ("I remember coming over to Brooklyn to paint and it seemed like a playground," he said). And in that time, his bold, street-indebted work has won over the art world and earned him legions of admirers, including Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.

He's also crossed over to the mainstream — one of his most iconic characters, Companion, flew in last year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade alongside the likes of Buzz Lightyear and ...
