‘Man Of Steel’ Supersuits: Actors Get Deep About Their Spandex

"Man of Steel" devotes an enormous amount of time and energy getting so many elements of the Superman mythology right — down to the costumes that the hero and his adversaries wear. As the eponymous superhero, Henry Cavill said that his experiences wearing the newly redesigned suit were nothing short of, well, super.

"The suit was amazing," Cavill told MTV News' Josh Horowitz. "It had like a physical energy about it, and there was so much care and attention and respect put into the concepts for it, the design. It wasn't just a bunch of material put together. It was a genuine thing."

Cavill admitted that even he was taken aback by the image of himself in the suit, and actually felt unlike himself during the scenes in which he wore it. "When I put it on for the first time, I didn't see me wearing an outfit, I felt like we were creating Superman in the room," he confessed. "And every time I was on set, people treated me differently when I was in the Superman suit, and every time I was in it, I felt differently. It was trouble wearing it at all; it was its own stuff."

Meanwhile, Cavill's onscreen adversary General Zod, played by Michael Shannon, donned a more complicated sort of armor. Shannon admitted that, on set, he felt silly — especially since most of its design was created later in a computer.

‘Man Of Steel’ And Lois Lane: The Importance Of Superman’s Heroic Woman

Ever since her debut in "Action Comics" #1 in 1938, Lois Lane has been inspiring readers to pursue truth at all costs. It's this purity and focus of intent that has made her essential to Superman — the other character that debuted in that same issue.

Thankfully, Lois has stood the test of time, no doubt because of the undeniable charisma infused in her by creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. She's appeared in every one of the Man of Steel's TV shows, animated series and films to date, always by Superman's side, proving that one doesn't need superpowers to fight evil.

Now Amy Adams has inherited the press pass from a long line of actresses — including Margot Kidder, Kate Bosworth, Erica Durance and Teri Hatcher — but what essential traits should Super-newbies be on the lookout for when catching "Man of Steel"? We gathered a panel of experts together to discuss what makes Lois Lane important.

"Lois is central because she's Clark's hero. She's audacious. Irrepressible. Superman might catch that meteor to protect Ma and Pa and Jimmy, but Lois is the reserve when all other fuel is depleted. She's the fire behind the heat vision. She teaches him something new every day, about humanity, about shrugging off the perceived limitations of the individual in pursuit of social justice. She's as much a crusader as Batman, but she doesn't need to hide behind a mask." — Paul Montgomery, iFanboy.

"To my mind Lois is the high point of human spirit who routinely changes the world for the better by getting ...

Bonnaroo Superjam: Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA Leads Team Through Classics

MANCHESTER, Tennessee — The Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Solange, Schoolboy Q and Chad Hugo of the Neptunes joined forces at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival on Friday night for a "Superjam," showing off their skills as Boston band Lettuce, featuring a tight horn section, brought the funk.

Jazzy Jeff was sent out first to set the stage, deftly scratching James Brown's "Funky Drummer." Schoolboy Q then joined in with a shout-out to Saturday performer Nas, busting out the MC's "N.Y. State of Mind Pt. II." His own "There He Go" had fans waving their hands as they attempted to mimic his rhymes.

Chad Hugo showed off that distinctive Neptunes flair, spinning Birdman's "What Happened to That Boy."

RZA, who didn't grace the stage until an hour into the set, offered his group's "C.R.E.A.M." and ODB's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya," while Wu affiliate Redman made a surprise appearance with "Tonight's Da Night."

Of course, it wouldn't be a Superjam without a hefty helping of classics: Sugarhill Gang's "Apache (Jump On It)" was given new life, Solange beautifully crooned "Killing Me Softly," and the collective got a little sentimental, giving gratitude to the crowd before Sly & The Family Stone's "A Family Affair."

Elsewhere Friday, the entire Wu-Tang Clan celebrated the 20th anniversary of Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Paul McCartney and Wolfgang Gartner performed, and Pretty Lights' set stretched late into the morning.

Kanye West’s ‘Raw’ Yeezus Lacked ‘Focus’ When Rick Rubin Jumped In

Kanye West invokes his "god name" for the title of his game-changing sixth album Yeezus, but when it came time to complete the project, 'Ye reached out to "the god" — legendary hip-hop/rock producer Rick Rubin — for help in the 25th hour. The pair worked furiously to strip down and re-assemble the album three weeks before deadline, as Rubin reveals in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

Though Rubin is credited as the executive producer of the album, he originally thought that Kanye was presenting him with a completed body of work for critique. "Kanye came over to play me what I assumed was going to be the finished album at three weeks before the last possible delivery date," he explained. "We ended up listening to three hours of partially finished pieces. The raw material was very strong but hadn't yet come into focus. Many of the vocals hadn't been recorded yet, and many of those still didn't have lyrics.

"From what he played me, it sounded like several months more work had to be done," Rubin added. "I joined the project because after discussing what he had played for me, he asked if I would be open to taking all of the raw material on and help him finish it."

West has emphasized that this album will be a raw and stripped-down body of work that pushes the boundaries of art, so it makes sense that he turned to Rubin. Besides Rubin's forward-thinking projects with artists like LL Cool and the Beastie Boys, he is also legendary ...

Mac Miller Gets Sinister In ‘Watching Movies’ Video

Mac Miller has been hard at work promoting Watching Movies With The Sound Off, and with the June 18 release just around the corner, he's got a very busy four days ahead of him. On Friday (June 14), the rapper amped up the hype even more by premiering his "Exorcist"-like new video for "Watching Movies."

In the slightly darker video, there's no shortage of twerking girls, biblical references and laser-eyed dudes, but he does get cozy in a casket at the end. "People worship these idols 'til they come in contact with gods," Miller raps while driving shoe-less (his barefootedness is something we've witnessed on "RapFix Live"). If you did, in fact, watch this with the sound off, you might think it was part of a creepy movie — there's a cross made out of broken televisions, a girl puking in bed at the videos start and a scolding priest, who Mac doesn't seem fazed by.

Mac Miller Explains How 'Objects In The Mirror' Reflects His Real-Life 'Emotion'

Like his previous video for "S.D.S.," another track off Watching Movies With The Sound Off, it has a similar sinister aesthetic that could potentially set the tone for the rest of the album, although he does get sweet by singing on "Objects in the Mirror," so it could be a surprise.

After heading uptown to BET's "106 & Park" on the same day, Mac will also visit "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" alongside Ariana Grande, whom he collaborated with on her Daydream track "The Way."

Grouplove Kick It With Kim Jong-un In ‘Ways To Go’

Not to ruin it for you, but Grouplove didn't actually travel to North Korea to shoot the video for their new single, "Ways To Go" — in which they inspire kid Kim Jong-un to don a Hawaiian shirt and dance his tiny dictatorial derriere off — but they would have.

"Nah, we shot it in this crazy house in Malibu, the Villa Leon, that's kind of defunct and falling apart, but they let us run around inside," frontman Christian Zucconi said. "But now that you bring it up, that probably would have been a good idea."

Don't worry; the lack of authenticity doesn't dampen the effervescent energy of the video, or the song, in the slightest. "Ways To Go" is shiny, sunny and seems destined to dominate summer pop playlists, and the video's a total treat (try not to crack a smile while watching it) ... so even if they didn't pull a Dennis Rodman and head to the DPRK to make it, well, that doesn't really matter all that much.

"You know, people watch videos on their phones now; they have to be bright and bold for people to pay attention," vocalists Hannah Hooper said. "For people to enjoy something something super beautiful, I feel like takes a joint and a screen."

Both of those seem required to enjoy Grouplove's upcoming Spreading Rumours album, too ... it's full of the kind of wide-eyed, wonky pop experiments that fans fell in love with on songs like "Tongue Tied" and "Colours" (from their 2011 debut, Never Trust a Happy Song), only pushed to new, ...

Bonnaroo 2013 Preview: Twenty One Pilots Rev Up Opening Day

MANCHESTER, TennesseeTwenty One Pilots got the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival revved up for a weekend of revelry with the off-the-charts pep of their opening-day set Thursday.

The genre-bending Ohio duo were clearly stoked to be performing at the festival, as singer Tyler Joseph alternately bashed his piano and excitedly sprinted across the stage — at one point, even climbing the rafters to take in the view from on top of the rigging.

Their poppy blend of hip-hop, indie rock and electronica attracted a giddy crowd, who were thrilled by their single "Holding On to You," accented by Josh Dun's pounding drums. "The Run and Go" was another favorite that had fans bopping up and down to its sing-along chorus. "House of Gold," "Ode to Sleep" and "Guns for Hands" rounded out the set.

The MTV Artist to Watch also opened the Hangout Festival in Alabama last month.

Rich Homie Quan Ready For ‘His Chance’ At Birthday Bash

Firestarter: Rich Homie Quan

Rich Homie Quan began hitting the studio because he wanted fans to feel his pain, but on Saturday, Atlanta rap fans will watch their city's newest star take center stage and share his love for music at 107.9's annual Birthday Bash concert.

B.o.B, 2 Chainz, French Montana, Young Dro and Trinidad Jame$ may be the marquee names set to appear at Phillips Arena on Saturday, but fans are geared up to see Quan, who has recently emerged as A-Town's most exciting newcomer thanks to melodic rap tracks like and the menacing "Better Watch What You Sayin'."

Quan's auto-tuned sing-songy rap style has been compared to others on the Atlanta rap scene, but Rich Homie assures us that he is different. "In my music I ain't tryna be the next dope boy, I ain't tryna to get out here and talk about stuff I don't have. I want people to just hear my real story," he told Mixtape Daily. "I'll tell you about how I wore the same shoes three days in a row, same outfit three days in a row. I ain't sayin' it so you can laugh now."

Coming up, Quan was inspired by Southern spitters with messages like Juvenile, Webbie and Lil Boosie. Before rap Rich had a run in with the law and was locked up, but upon his release met his mentor Teezy, who would sign Quan to his Loyalty Over Royalties (L.O.R.) record label. Things were finally going good for Quan until Teezy was murdered in December 2011. Now ...

Kanye West’s Yeezus Track Got King Louie To Wake Up And Freestyle

King L had no idea that Kanye West was a fan of his prior to Yeezy shouting out the Chicago up-and-comer on his remix to Chief Keef's but if he didn't know then, he surely knows now.

Louie was recently revealed as one of the key features on Kanye West's June 18 album Yeezus. The street-bred flame spitter appears on a track believed to be titled "Send It Up," and while the pressure of appearing on a Kanye album may have gotten to some, the "Val Venus" MC revealed to MTV News that he just went in and freestyled his performance during a recording session in Paris with Kanye.

"When I did the joint, we were in the studio — no B.S., like 20 hours strong, a day. We were in Paris or whatever," he told us via Skype on Thursday. "I had woke up, and it was just a freestyle verse off the top and that turned out to be the one he was really rocking with; just genuine bars."

On Monday, Kanye played the album for a select crowd in New York City and the King Louie-assisted track sounded like a clear-cut party starter, with a kinetic beat complete with blaring sirens and a pounding drum.

Kanye West Teaches A Thing Or Five About Yeezus: Here's What We Learned!

Louie said the finished version is "dope," but he does confirm that it is very different from the original beat he recorded on. When you factor in West's meticulous post-production methods, it isn't hard to believe.

"The ...
