2 Chainz’s Bodyguard Relives Robbery: ‘We Thought It Was A Joke’

2 Chainz has steadfastly denied that he was robbed of his namesake jewelry at gunpoint in San Francisco last weekend. But on Thursday, the MC's bodyguard, Harold "Hammer Strength" Folsom, called in to a Columbus, Ohio, radio station and described for the first time exactly what happened during the daring daylight chase and grab.

"All of a sudden three dudes just jumped out with huge guns, .357 Magnums," Folsom said in the interview, which has since been taken down from Power 107.5's website. (A spokesperson for the station confirmed to MTV News that the interview took place and that Folsom is part of Chainz's crew; a spokesperson for the rapper could not be reached for comment at press time.)

"They pointed the guns at us and we was like 'Whoa!' We thought it was a joke for a minute. We looked at them, we stopped, kinda paused. We thought it was a joke. Then all we heard was, '2 Chainz give it up.' So we like stood there and didn't do anything, and we kinda like froze, cuz we wanted to see if this was real. All of a sudden, the next thing you know, 2 Chainz kinda like backed up a little bit. And then he said, 'Give it up. Give it up.' And then all of a sudden he took off. He took off running first. When he took off running, we took off running. Then all of a sudden these dudes, they just start shooting. I don't know where they shot at."

Britney Spears Gets Ready For ‘Ooh La La’

Hankering for some new music from Britney Spears? You're in luck; she's confirmed her Dr. Luke-produced "Smurfs 2" track, is premiering Monday.

The track was leaked back in May, but it will finally get an official spin on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show, she announced on Thursday.

In addition to working with Luke on the up-tempo, family-friendly track, Spears also hit the studio with Ammo and Cirkut as well as Bonnie McKee, J Kash, Lola Blanc and Fransisca Hall.

Just last week, Spears tweeted out what appeared to be a still from the Marc Klasfeld-directed video for the track. Not much is known about the clip, but it seems like two "Smurfs" fans will be particularly excited when it's released: Spears' sons, Jayden and Sean. "My boys' dream is about to come true!" she tweeted on Thursday. "Wait until ya'll see the #OohLaLaVideo Nobody loves The Smurfs more than my boys.... :)"

In addition to her work on the soundtrack, Spears has also been hitting the studio to record songs for her follow-up to 2011's Femme Fatale, which is being executive produced by her pal will.i.am. It's rumored that in addition to the Black Eyed Peas frontman, she's also worked with the likes of William Orbit, Naughty Boy and Hit-Boy.

Miley Cyrus Let Future Into ‘Her Personal Life’ To Make ‘Great Records’

Pharrell assures us that Miley Cyrus' upcoming album won't be but with additional producers like Future in her corner, the former Disney Star definitely seems bound to showcase a new side of her personality.

Miley previously told MTV news that she and Future linked up for a studio session where no pen and papers were used and the atmosphere felt more like a party. Future confirmed this when we caught up with him on Wednesday in Los Angeles, explaining that he works off the vibe of an artist, without ever needing to write things down.

"I never write. I usually just look at the artist's face and when I'm saying certain things, I see what moves them, so [there's] never no paper in the studio," he explained. "It's always me freestyling, [being] free-spirited, vibing and tryna pick her brain to see what she likes and what she don't like. See what she's going through by just having different conversations.

"From the conversation, I pretty much know where your life is at and where you wanna take the music," he added.

The details of Miley's relationship and personal life have been a fixture of the gossip sites lately — in addition to the fascination with her twerkin' obsession — so the music they recorded together contains a little bit of everything, according to Future.

"We got a lot of great records, and it all came from conversation and having a nice vibe," the Atlanta rapper told us. "Whenever she allowed me in her personal life through conversation, I tried to take ...

Superman Reviewed: What Are People Saying About ‘Man Of Steel’?

After years of waiting for another Superman story, "Man of Steel" is finally here. Zack Snyder, who succeeded in deconstructing heroes in "Watchmen," this time builds one from the ground up, creating an origin story that utilizes the iconography of the character to take him in a new and markedly different direction. But is that what audiences will want? The trailers thus far have promised something that has kept fans abuzz, hoping for something serious as the "Dark Knight" films, but as sweeping and epic as, well, a Superman movie should be. MTV News has assembled a roundup of reviews from around the Internet by different folks — some of whom thought it exceeded those expectations, and others who thought it fell short.

How Faithful Is It To Classic Superman Stories?
"There's nary a mention of kryptonite, the Fortress of Solitude is only an existential locale, and Clark Kent never earns so much as a single Daily Planet byline in 'Man of Steel,' director Zack Snyder, writer David S. Goyer and producer Christopher Nolan's strenuously revisionist Superman origin story, which might more accurately have been titled "Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Spacemen," given the amount of screen time devoted to exiled Kryptonians body-slamming each other into all manner of natural and manmade structures." — Scott Foundas, Variety

How Well Does Zack Snyder Handle Christopher Nolan-esque Material?
" 'Man of Steel' is second-tier and third-generation Chris Nolan-flavored neo-superhero material. Nolan chose not to direct this film, but co-wrote the original story with David S. Goyer (who wrote the final screenplay) and is one ...

Kanye West’s Yeezus Track List Leaks: You Can’t Control Everything

Kanye West's Yeezus is a passion project in every sense of the term, from its searing sonics and seething lyrics to its rather, uh, nontraditional promotion, which has been spearheaded by West and his creative team and seems designed to avoid any and all conventions.

There have been spontaneous projections on buildings in cities across the globe, startling performances on and hastily-assembled "listening parties" in NYC loading docks ... and through it all, West has maintained that there would be no singles released off Yeezus, and, reportedly, the album won't be available for pre-order either. His intent, it appears, is to let the music do the work for him.

And yet, all the micro-managing in the world can't stop others from spoiling the party; with four days to go before Yeezus is released, West has yet to reveal the album's track listing ... though, thanks to a Swedish retailer, fans are now aware that the record features 10 songs. That track list was given more credence with the leak of a photo of Yeezus' back cover (supposedly taken at a manufacturing plant) began making the rounds on Friday, which not only shows titles of songs, but a list of samples used in their construction.

Several sites have also began running a "confirmed" track list that also reveals the artists West has collaborated with on Yeezus, several of whom he's been shouting out at various listening sessions. Of course, West's rep has yet to actually confirm anything, and 'Ye has so ...

Mac Miller Explains How ‘Objects In The Mirror’ Reflects His Real-Life ‘Emotion’

While Mac Miller is best known for his rapping skills, he changes things up on "Objects in the Mirror" by not rapping a single bar, instead slowing it down to sing. When Mac stopped by "RapFix Live" on Wednesday, host Sway Calloway shared some lines from the jazz-inspired track and let Mac interpret.

The song, off his June 18 release Watching Movies With the Sound Off, is all about love, and while Mac says he didn't write it about a specific female, he did draw from real-life experiences. "What I like to do when I'm writing a song like this is something in my life that happens. I take the emotion."

"People love you when they on your mind/A thought is love's currency," Sway read from the first verse. Mac explained, "Yeah, ya know it just exists in your head with love and with how that works."

"RapFix" also invited Statik Selektah, who will is also dropping an album on June 18, the same day hip-hop heavyweights such as Kanye West and J. Cole release their albums. Selektah also shared some lines from "Objects in the Mirror," reading, "Listen to me, I'mma set you free/Yeah, he ain't gonna break your heart again/Go through the worst to reach the ecstasy/When your imagination's on pretend."

"I'm a little bit weird with saying exactly what is going on in my life, so you take that emotion and you create a situation in your head, and you come up with something. Then, you apply that emotion into that situation and build characters," Mac explained. "You ...

Kim Deal Parts Ways With Pixies

Kim Deal has parted ways with Pixies, ending an oft-confounding, occasionally frustrating, always brilliant partnership that spanned 25 years, and included one hiatus, an abrupt breakup and a triumphant round of reunion tours.

The band made the announcement on Friday (June 14), via a polite statement that read, in part:

"We are sad to say that Kim Deal has decided to leave the Pixies. We are very proud to have worked with her ... [and] despite her decision to move on, we will always consider her a member of the Pixies, and her place will always be here for her. We wish her all the best."

That's a far cry from the band's breakup in 1993, which came after years of creative tension between Deal and frontman/songwriter Frank Black (or Black Francis, if you prefer) and was notable for several reasons, including the part where Black notified Deal of her firing via fax. Deal had joined Pixies in 1986 as their bassist, co-wrote and sang lead on the song "Gigantic," the first (and only) single off their 1988 full-length debut Surfer Rosa.

Pixies would go on to release three other critically lauded, influential albums — 1989's Doolittle, '90's Bossanova and '91's Trompe le Monde — but Deal was becoming increasingly frustrated by Black's total control over the band, and during a hiatus, she formed the Breeders, the band that would become her primary focus after Black broke up Pixies.

After a decade apart, rumors of a Pixies reunion began to spread, and in 2004, a full tour — with Black, Deal, guitarist ...

Matt Damon’s ‘Elysium’ Trailer: Watch Now!

Matt Damon only has a few days to live and one hell of a long way to go in the latest trailer for "Neill Blomkamp. The new preview gives a more complete look at the dystopian Earth that Damon's character occupies, the idyllic space station, Elysium, and more specifics about the adventure we'll go on when the movie hits theaters in August.

The trailer begins simply with Damon's character, Max De Costa, speaking with an automated civil servant who informs him that his parole has been automatically extended thanks to a run-in he had earlier with two robotic police officers.

Left with a broken arm and a wounded spirit, Max suffers yet another setback when an accident at work traps him behind safety doors, effectively leaving him with five days to live. His only option is to break the law by entering the privileged, orbiting world of Elysium to use the advanced technology there that isn't available on Earth.

With the story set up, the trailer shifts gears to focus on the sci-fi action mayhem that follows. With the help of a robotic exoskeleton and a few compatriots, Max makes his way to Elysium, but he picks up a few enemies on his way. Jodie Foster plays Secretary Rhodes, an Elysium higher-up who sends an assassin named Kruger (Sharlto Copley from "District 9") to take Max out.

The trailer for "Elysium" makes promises of enormous sci-fi action with the same kind of eye for social statement that took "District 9" to the next level. It looks like we have one more huge ...
