The robots reign once again. Daft Punk tops the Billboard albums chart for a second consecutive week, as their Random Access Memories sold nearly 93,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Last week, the dynamic duo posted the year's second-biggest debut, moving an impressive 339,000 copies of RAM to claim their first-ever #1 album in the U.S. This week, that number wasn't quite as high, but it was enough to easily outpace Alice In Chains' The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, which opens at #2 with sales of more than 61,000 copies.
John Fogerty's Wrote a Song For Everyone debuts at #3, with sales of nearly 51,00 copies, followed by British pop act Little Mix, who sold nearly 50,000 copies of their DNA album. Blake Shelton rounds out the Top 5 with his Based on a True Story, which sold nearly 42,000 copies.
Darius Rucker's True Believers is in at #6, selling nearly 41,000 copies, followed by the "Great Gatsby" soundtrack at #7 (more than 36,000 copies sold), Imagine Dragons' Night Visions at #8 (nearly 33,000 copies) and Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience at #9 (nearly 31,000 copies). Vampire Weekend close out the Top 10 with Modern Vampires of the City, which sold nearly 29,000 copies.
Outside the Top 10, the-Dream's IV Play failed to deliver the goods, debuting at #16, with sales of 22,000 copies, and a pair of rock acts took big tumbles down the chart: The National's Trouble Will Find Me slips from #3 to #20, and Thirty Seconds To Mars' LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS ...
