Mariah Carey’s ‘#Beautiful’: Miguel Reveals Naughty Hashtag Meaning!

For anyone wondering why Mariah Carey and Miguel decided to tack a hashtag onto the title of their breezy summer single, well Miguel has a very simple, if naughty, explanation.

"The hashtag in the title of this song is particularly fitting because the word that comes before 'beautiful' when I sing the chorus is an expletive that I can't say on air," he told MTV News, referring to the F-word he slyly delivers on the song's hook. "But the hashtag is particularly fitting for that expletive, if you just kind of pay a little bit of attention."

"#Beautiful" is the lead single off Carey's forthcoming studio album, but what caught some fans' attention initially is that the tune doesn't kick off with Mariah's signature vocals but rather Miguel's verse. But the R&B crooner said there was no controversy. He chalked it up to the superstar diva's musical vision.

"She has so much foresight and she was all about the sound and it being different and standing out," Miguel explained. "And I think that she's always been that way — she's always created music that's stood out."

The title of the track also perfectly encapsulates the process of working with the legendary vocalist, Miguel said. "She's incredible," he gushed. "She's not only a beautiful spirit, inside and out, she's just really talented. I couldn't even fathom how creative she really is and how fast her mind works. ... The fact that she had so much vision — enough to want to do the record as it was — and include me ...

Fat Joe Needed ‘Instagram’ Warning: ‘Joe, Don’t Do It’

You just don't get a 20-year rap career by doing the same old same. When Fat Joe da Gangsta dropped his debut album Represent in 1993, he was about the twice the size he is now and a rap murder machine, it's a far cry from the smooth-talking, hit-making rapper that he has become.

"I just feel I'm getting better," Joe said when he appeared on "RapFix Live" on Wednesday. "You gotta reinvent yourself. I just feel like I'm getting better when I play with flows, a lot of rappers can't even change their flows."

Over the course of the past year, Joe has linked with Kanye West ("Pride N Joy"), Chris Brown ("Another Round") — both for the first time in his career — for some pretty impressive results. On Thursday, Joey Crack found another new collaborator in Future. Together they created an auto-tune laced song for the ladies.

Joe says he is just having fun, but his fellow Bronx, New York, MC French Montana insists that the Terror Squad leader isn't giving himself enough credit. "You gotta stop being humble now. Too many hits, all right, too many hits. Fat Joe been dropping hits since he started," Montana interjected. "Don't be humble no more, you gotta let them know."

While it is true that Joe has amassed an impressive list of singles like "Lean Back," "What's Luv?" and "We Thuggin'," he doesn't always hit the mark. His 2012 Internet release "Instagram That Hoe" didn't go over so well. "I wish somebody would've told me, 'Joe don't do ...

Kendrick Lamar Digs Up ‘Hidden Messages’ In ‘Vibe’ Video

Kendrick Lamar has deep and deliberate messages in his music, but rather than explain his motivations he'd rather leave it up to the listener. So when MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway prodded about K. Dot's inspirations behind his latest video, the good kid tried his best to maintain the mystery.

"It's a few different hidden messages over there but the most obvious showing that even a grieving situation, your vibe can't be killed," Lamar said when he came offstage at this weekend's Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama. "There's other little intricate things in there, I like to leave it up to the viewers and the listeners."

The video appropriately opens in a church as the somber chords play under Kendrick's melodic declaration of his sins. "I am a sinner, who's probably gonna sin again. Lord forgive," he harmonizes.

After several beats pass, it becomes apparent that Lamar is attending a funeral, as he walks past several grievers wearing white and places his hand on a white casket before walking out of the church. In his conversation with Kendrick, Sway pointed out the similarities between the rapper's all-white funeral and West African Yoruba customs where death is celebrated as a transition into another life. "That was an idea," Kendrick confirmed, not giving up much else.

As far as the hilarious Mike Epps cameo, where the comedian baptizes Kendrick in a pool full of liquor: "That was just being funny. That was him being crazy," Lamar said. "I've always been a fan of him and that was just something right on ...

Zendaya’s ‘Crying’ Fans ‘So Sad’ About ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Loss

It was one of the most competitive seasons of "Dancing with the Stars" to date, but after three months of hard work and a lead going into the finale, 16-year-old Disney star Zendaya Coleman had to watch the coveted Mirror Ball trophy go to another deserving contestant, Kellie Pickler.

Coming in second place isn't getting the "Shake it Up" star down. She is more concerned with how her young fans — and dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy, who had to get 14 stitches after she elbowed him in the head during rehearsal — was handling the news.

"I was happy that I made it that far and I think that's the most important thing to take with me," Zendaya told MTV News. "I was more worried about my partner. Obviously, he had stitches. He's all banged up and all the fans at home that are crying their eyeballs out. All my little fans are so sad. Parents are tweeting me, talking about 'My daughter's is crying she doesn't want to go to school because she's upset you didn't win.' "

Zendaya, who was the youngest contestant to ever compete on the show, said she will miss Val now that the season has ended, and she'll never forget the special bond she created with her fellow competitors.

"When it comes to other contestants, everyone does get really close. You really feel for each other because you know what you're going through," Zendaya said. "It's not like a competition where people hate each other; we are all in it together."

J. Cole Features TLC On Born Sinner, But No Jay-Z?

Fans were pleasantly surprised to hear Missy Elliott on "Nobody's Perfect" from J. Cole's debut album, and for his upcoming sophomore effort the Roc Nation MC will be gathering some more surprising guests — but none of them will be rapping.

"I got TLC on the album, T-Boz and Chilli," Cole said of Born Sinner during an interview with London's BBC 1Xtra.

It's not every day that the iconic singing group get together. After Left Eye passed away in 2002 the group has managed to release just one album, so getting them was no easy feat. "That's management right there, shout out to Bystorm, they made that happen. The same thing with Missy Elliott, sometimes you need management to pull those favors, to make those calls," Cole explained to Fuse on Thursday. "They got me in touch, they loved the song, they loved the music.

"It's like my favorites, I wanted to go and get my favorites and then have them do the things that I love them for doing... [TLC] is doing what I love them for," he continued.

Miguel also appears on Born Sinner's lead single "Power Trip," but Cole says there will be no MCs contributing bars to his June 18 work. "Nobody else other than J. Cole is rapping on the album, but there's some great features," he said.

Cole's first album featured only two spitters: Drake on "In the Morning" and Jay-Z on "Nice Watch," but unless Hov is singing or doing some sort of spoken word it looks like the Roc Nation CEO ...

‘Fast & Furious 6’: The Reviews Are In!

When "The Fast and the Furious" debuted in 2001, few expected that it would evolve into a full-fledged franchise — much less one that lasted 12 years and produced five sequels (and counting). "Fast & Furious 6" arrives in theaters with enormously high expectations, thanks in no small part to the convergence of stars and supporting players from literally all of the previous installments, including the anachronistic "Tokyo Drift."

But does this new film deserve the kind of excitement that it's receiving from fans? MTV assembled a cross section of reviews from critics across the web who seem to think that the franchise's tank is still full of surprises.

How Far Has 'Fast and the Furious' Come By Part Six?
"The series under Justin Lin (who has directed the last four) is completely aware of how silly it is.The series leans into the over the top action and the goofy soap opera elements in a way that's not quite tongue-in-cheek — Lin is never making fun of the movies or the characters — but that is in a spirit of having an awful lot of fun with it." — Devin Faraci, Badass Digest

Most Importantly, How's The Action?
"Here's a movie that could easily have been dialogue-free. And probably would have been better for it. But the volume is a key element, especially for those who find the sound of revved-up engines evocative." — Claudia Puig, USA Today

Kim Kardashian To Find Out Baby’s Gender On ‘Keeping Up’

Kim Kardashian might not let cameras roll when she gives birth, but they were when she found out the gender of her baby with Kanye West.

In a tease for the June 2 premiere of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," viewers are taken into the examining room the moment the reality starlet learned if she is having a boy or girl. Surrounded by Khloe, Kourtney and Kris, Kim gets her sonogram, and the tease cuts off just after the mama Kris says, "Do you see a little pee-pee?"

Ryan Seacrest, who executive produces the show, confirms that the full reveal will take place on the show's season premiere next Sunday. The same day the teaser hit the Web, little sister Khloe released promo pics from the new season, featuring the entire clan looking fresh and preppy in a garden setting. Kanye is not featured in any of the shots.

In another tease released earlier this week, Kim exposes her growing baby bump and wonders just how she gained so much weight, asking, "How the f--- did I get like this?" Kim has faced lots of criticism about her weight gain over the course of her pregnancy, but also has received support from other celebrities including British pop singer Cheryl Cole.

Kim is reportedly due in July and invites have been sent out for her . When MTV News spoke to Kim's little sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, they shared they weren't quite ready to be aunts to Baby Kimye just yet.

As I Lay Dying Singer Was ‘On Steroids’ Before Hiring Hitman

As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis was using steroids at the time that he allegedly hired a hitman to kill his ex-wife, according to the rocker's lawyer. The San Diego Union-Tribune reported that during a hearing on Thursday seeking a reduction in his $3 million bail, Lambesis' lawyer said the pumped-up hard rocker's decision-making was severely impacted by his drug use.

Lambesis has been in jail since May 7, when he was arrested for allegedly trying to hired a hitman, who it turned out was an undercover cop, to kill his ex-wife, Meggan. During the hearing, the judge agreed to reduce Lambesis' bail to $2 million, which lawyer Thomas Warwick said was still to high for his client. Warwick has been seeking bail of $250,000 for Lambesis, who has pleaded not guilty
to a single count of solicitation of murder.

Warwick said Lambesis had gotten into body building and became a paid spokesman for nutritional supplements, which at some point also included taking steroids. "His thought processes were devastatingly affected by his steroid use," Warwick told the judge. According to the United States Anti-Doping Agency, among the psychological effects of taking anabolic steroids are increased aggressiveness and sexual appetite, which can sometimes result in abnormal sexual and criminal behavior, often referred to as "roid rage."

Prosecutors claim that on May 7 Lambesis hired a man named "Red," who he believed was a contract killer, but was really an undercover officer, because he wanted his wife "gone." He allegedly handed the man an envelope with $1,000 cash, as well ...
