Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez: Their Billboard Music Awards Reunion

Whether they are currently together or not according to the latest gossip, both Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez hit up the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to attend the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night (May 19).

Gomez was the first performer of the night, setting the tone. She kept the Bollywood theme of her MTV Movie Awards performance in a flowy dress with a gold metal bustier and bindi, sensually dancing to her latest single "Come & Get It."

Later on, Selena — in a partially see-through black dress — was on hand to introdue her bestie Taylor Swift, who performed "22" on live TV for the first time ... in a horse T-shirt! Later, Gomez sat in the same row as Swift and Ed Sheeran to watch the big show.

Several performances after Gomez took the stage, it was time to board Bieber Air. JB walked out of the window of the cockpit of "Bieber Air" then popped-and-locked his way through "Take You."

As city names flashed behind him and computer-generated maps pointed out exotic locales, the global superstar, in all black everything, performed the unreleased Believe track, putting the focus on his dance moves. As the song wrapped up, Bieber got back into the cockpit, set to fly the friendly skies.

In between performances, Bieber snagged the prize for Top Male Artist. "I want to thank all my fans. I want to thank my whole family, thank you guys so much," he told the room, ...

Miley Cyrus Reveals Big Single News At Billboard Music Awards

Miley Cyrus is a woman of her word. After teasing fans she'd give them the latest news on her highly anticipated new single at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night (May 19), she did just that, confirming that will arrive June 3.

The Mike Will Made It-produced tune will drop on Ryan Seacrest's radio show in just a few short weeks, marking the first listen of Miley's 2013 album.

Back in March, Miley called into Seacrest's radio show, teasing that her lead single would likely feature her collaborator, Snoop, but there's no word if "We Can't Stop" includes the iconic rapper — though the "We" certainly implies more than one person is involved.

A release date has yet to be announced for the album, though she's hit the studio with producers and artists, including Hit-Boy, Pharrell, Mac Miller and Tyler, the Creator. Production team Da Internz told MTV News earlier this month that Cyrus definitely sounds more mature on this album, her first since signing with RCA.

"I can say it's definitely going to shock a lot of people; definitely grown up," Ernest "Tuo" Clark said. "It's natural; it's not her trying to do like pop, four on the floor. What she did was, I just feel like, was different and needed in the game and, then, for her, a huge 'wow' factor."

Steve Aoki Sprays Hangout Fest With Cake And Champagne

When Steve Aoki took the stage on Sunday (May 19) at Hangout Fest 2013 in Gulf Shores, Alabama, not one audience member kept their hands at their side. His explosive opening was, simply put, game-changing.

Aoki's fans screamed, jumped and held signs up high, begging for Steve to "cake" them — and cake them he did. The master DJ jumped from his post at his booth and lunged full sheet cakes into the crowd to his eager fans who kept demanding more.

And when he wasn't letting them eat cake, he was spraying them with champagne and launching audience members into the sea of arms on a variety of inflatable toys. With a chorus of screaming supporters harmonizing his beats, and his die-hards crowd surfing in blow up turtles and row boats across the audience, it's easy to understand why this producer extraordinaire never fails when putting on a show.

Festival-goers at Hangout Fest have had quite the weekend when it comes to electronic music. Aoki took a stage that had already Ahosted the likes of EDM superstars frojack and Porter Robinson just to name a few, and brought the house down with his contiguous energy and enthusiastic performance. Aoki ...

Yeah Yeah Yeahs Dedicate ‘Maps’ To Stevie Wonder At Hangout Fest

GULF SHORES, Alabama — About halfway through the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Hangout Music Festival set, frontwoman Karen O took a moment to make a special announcement before playing the band's 2004 breakout single "Maps." "This is dedicated to Stevie Wonder," she called out to the thousands of fans who showed up to catch the Yeah's set. The iconic R&B star was slated to follow the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on the Hangout Stage as the weekend's headliner.

But Karen's tender moments ended there. For the duration of the band's set, she was her usual brash-n-flash self. Decked out in a green sequin blazer and short combo, she carried the crowd through the band's back catalog as well as a host of songs from the band's newest album, Mosquito, occasionally pausing to give shout outs to the "ganja smokers" and lending her mic to the crowd for some vocal duties.Songs like the fiery "Heads Will Roll" and the head-pounding "Phenomenon" were hard-rocking reminders of where the band was 10 years ago, when they broke out of the downtown New York City art-rock scene.

But their new numbers cast the band into more of an electro-meets-new wave vibe. "Sacrilege" and "Suck Your Blood" contained more tribal elements, mixing pounding rhythms from drummer Brian Chase as well as some sampled elements. It's not that surprising, considering they tapped LCD Soundsystem mastermind James Murphy and TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek for Mosquito production duties — and the band translates those newfound sounds well in a festival setting.

Ellie Goulding’s Powerful Hangout Fest Set Was One For The Girls

GULF SHORES, Alabama — The Hangout Festival didn't leave fans wanting for much — supermodels on water slides, country bands and shellfish, and you know, Tom Petty, Kings of Leon and Stevie Wonder playing on the shore of a stunning beach. But the one thing this year's Hangout Fest didn't feature was a long roster of female artists, so British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding had to represent.

Female-fronted acts like The Breeders, Best Coast, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Delta Rae, and Grouplove were amongst the festival's musical highlights, but, in addition to being one of the biggest names on this year's ticket, Ellie Goulding had the unique distinction of being one of the Hangout Fest's two female solo artists (the first being Lissie). And naturally, she rose to the occasion. If she could handle performing at the royal wedding of Prince William and Princess Kate at Buckingham Palace, she could handle the beach.

The warbling, pixie-esque Brit winner and first lady of electronic music enchanted the crowd with a set that featured cuts from her breakthrough debut album, Lights, and its follow-up, Halcyon.

Under a cloudy, overcast sky that echoed her native England, Goulding, true to her slightly shy, poetic girl-next-door ...

Imagine Dragons Drum Up Magic During Hangout Festival Set

GULF SHORES, Alabama — Though they have two solid radio hits to their name, Imagine Dragons are relative newbies to the festival scene. You'd think they make moody music that's best heard in a dingy rock clubs. But on the final day of the Hangout Festival on Sunday (May 19), the Las Vegas band busted their anthems wide open and helped to close the lid on a wild, wooly three-day beach party.

They may have been born in sticky-floor dives, but Imagine Dragons were more than up to a main stage slot, pulling a huge audience, who danced, sang and crowd surfed through an hour-long set from the personality-plus group. Towering singer Dan Reynolds was hampered by a broken hand in a temporary cast, but that didn't stop him from bashing away at a huge kettledrum during the percussion-heavy opening of the band's set.

The former MTV PUSH Artist of the Week band, who've notched two hits off their 2012 studio debut, Night Visions, with
and
opened with "Round and Round," which found Reynolds bounding all around the stage and stopping only to occasionally smack the drum, often on bended knee.

Reynolds is not unlike the American version of Coldplay's Chris Martin: with a big personality and relentless positivity, he is clearly in love with his chosen vocation. "I broke my hand, but the show still goes on, it feels OK!" he told the crowd. Reynolds stood on a stage monitor to help set off a massive crowd arm wave, bouncing on his toes to the infectious ...

Chrissy Teigen Owns The Beach At Hangout Fest 2013!

GULF SHORES, Alabama — The Hangout Music Festival's beach setting may be a natural environment for famed Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and TV host Chrissy Teigen, but this weekend she's been covering the more colorful aspects of what goes down off the waters of Gulf Shores, Alabama at this four-year-old gathering.

Tiegen's adventures as one of MTV's guest correspondents — "Jersey Shore" star Vinny Guadagnino, Dillon Francis, iJustine and 2012 Miss Alabama Katherine Webb rounded out the crew — were numerous. A few of the highlights included getting a face tattoo with EDM star Dillon Francis, a terrifying ride on the "Mega-Drop" and a chaotic Go-Pro-captured romp through the festival crowd for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' peformance. There was a beach scavenger hunt and a face-off with the ex Miss Alabama, too, over a peel-and-eat shrimp-eating contest (with two lucky guys). Both Tiegen and Webb lost the challenge to one of the strapping boys, whose prize was a kiss from Teigen.

Teigen, who's engaged to singer John Legend, also squared off against 'The Show With Vinny' host Vinny in a selfie contest; the model snapped up 16 photos of herself and Hangout fans in just 30 seconds. (Go figure she'd knock a camera challenge out of the park.) She also found some time for some free love:

As you can see from the above tweet, being an MTV correspondent at Hangout Fest is hard work — sweat will happen.

Public Enemy Are ‘Rolling Stones’ Of Rap, Chuck D Says At Hangout Fest

GULF SHORES, Alabama — On a festival bill that swings from acts just breaking through (Twenty One Pilots, Wild Cub) to icons like Tom Petty and Stevie Wonder, Public Enemy definitely fall into the legend category.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame rap titans proved why they belong in the latter group during a high-intensity daytime set in the Boom Boom Tent at the Hangout Festival on Saturday.

The group's hype man, Flavor Flav, said PE fed off the energy of the crowd during their hour-long show, which found the young audience shouting along to such anthems as "Welcome to the Terrordome" and "911 is a Joke."

"We're the Rolling Stones of the rap game," said group leader Chuck D after the set while chilling backstage with MTV News' Sway Calloway. "Not braggin'/Lips bigger than Jagger/Not saggin'/Spell it backwards, Imma leave it at that," D rapped.

Chuck was talking about the relative youngsters on PE's upcoming summer package tour featuring Ice Cube, De La Soul and LL Cool J, but Flav added that with seniority status comes some pressure as well. "We ain't trying to leave ya'll on pins and needles/But we just as big as the Beatles," he freestyled.

One of the difficulties of achieving longevity in the game is that you have to learn to appeal to new audiences who might not have even been born when you started, as well as the old school fans when you're putting together a set list.

How does PE pull that off?

"We study people like the Rolling Stones, the Who," said D. "You ...

Kim Kardashian Confirms Kanye West’s Yeezus Title And Release Date

Very little seems to happen by chance in Kanye West's world, so it was likely no coincidence that just as the MC was taking the stage for his gig his girlfriend Kim Kardashian confirmed when we'll have new Yeezy music.

In a post that rapidly bounced around the hip-hop world, Kardashian Instagrammed what appeared to be the album's cover, as well as the rumored titled, Yeezus. The picture includes a CD case with what looks like a melted gold Jesus piece on the cover next to a pair of unreleased red Nike Air Yeezy IIs, a piece of red gaffer tape with the title on it and the message, "#Yeezus #RedYeezy's #SNL #Tonight #NewSlaves #YeezySeason #Donda #June18."

West debuted "New Slaves" by projecting the video for the song on 66 locations? across the globe on Friday and then made a triumphant return to "Saturday Night Live" to perform the new song "Black Skinhead."

Backed by a live band and dressed in a studded black leather biker jacket and red Air Yeezy II's, he let out screams over a sparse drum track and melody culled from Marilyn Manson's 1996 hit "The Beautiful People." He later tweeted what appeared to be the lyric sheet from the song, which features the lines, "4 in the morning/And I'm zoning/They say I'm possessed/It's an omen/I keep it 300/Like the Romans." For his second performance he did "New Slaves."

Although various sites were reporting that West's album is available for pre-order now on his official site, at press ...
