Juicy J Wants $15 Million For New Three 6 Mafia Album

Going solo has clearly suited Juicy J. Over the past few years the Three 6 Mafia standout has built his rep outside of his iconic group, and while he is gearing up to drop Stay Trippy without DJ Paul, Juice says he'll be down to do another Three 6 album — if the money is right.

"If they cut a check for $15-$16 mil," Juicy told "RapFix Live" of Columbia Records, where Three 6 are currently signed.

The Memphis, Tennessee group released their debut album Mystic Stylez in 1995 and have since set a number of sonic hip-hop trends with classic records like "Tear da Club Up," "Sippin on Some Syrup" and "Stay Fly." The duo released their last album Last 2 Walk in 2008 and have been quiet ever since. "It's really up to Columbia Records, man. I feel like Columbia Records put that group on the shelf so it's their call when they wanna bring back the Three 6 Mafia," he told "RFL" host Sway Calloway on Wednesday. "The contracts are still signed; the group is still signed with Columbia so it's really up to the label."

Juice has been doing pretty well on his own, however. He's linked up with Dr. Luke and Wiz Khalifa to release Stay Trippy and is even signed on as a partner in Khalifa's Taylor Gang label. Thanks to hit singles like "Bandz a Make Her Dance" and his current track "Show Out" with Young Jeezy and Big Sean, Stay Trippy is one of rap's more anticipated albums of 2013. If all goes ...

‘American Idol:’ In Memoriam

is dead to me.

I don't mean that in some vindictive way; truth be told, I haven't really cared enough to be outraged since probably 2009, when Kris Allen defeated Adam Lambert in a polarizing finale before disappearing from the face of the earth. And I'm not saying it out of frustration, either ... at this point, I've gotten used to the ill-advised shakeups at the judges' table, ridiculous "feuds," questionable Top 10s, and underwhelming champions that have sadly become this show's recurring themes.

I'm not bored by "Idol," or saddened by what it's turned into, or even really mad at this year's winner. All of those things would require me to have some sort of emotional connection to the show, and, quite frankly, my feelings for it rival those of the goldfish I won when I was 8. When that goldfish died, we flushed it down the toilet. Now, I'm flushing "American Idol."

It was probably inevitable; after all "Idol" has basically been on life support since Simon Cowell packed up his cashmere sweaters in 2010. Its viewership has been in a steady decline, and those still watching have gotten older and more conservative. This season's re-shuffling of the panel — adding Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban — was a last-ditch effort by producers to stem the tide, to somehow inject some youth and relevance into the flagging show.

It didn't work, and now "Idol" gets beaten in the ratings by the younger, hipper "The Voice" and viewers kept around ...

The Weeknd Drops Sexy ‘Kiss Land’ And Sincere ‘John Carpenter’

The Weeknd takes pride in his privacy, but on his new tracks "Kiss Land" and "John Carpenter," the mysterious singer/songwriter opens up about his rise to stardom.

Abel Tesfaye posted both tracks in a single seven-minute YouTube clip on Thursday night. On "Kiss Land," which also is the name of his forthcoming album, Weeknd broaches a familiar subject, singing of his immense sexual appetite. "Cause the only thing you're taking, is your clothes off/ Go 'head girl strip it down, shut your mouth, I just wanna hear your body talk," he wails.

is far less romantic; instead of his crooning of his sexual exploits, the shy singer lets us into his life a bit. "I got a brand-new place, I think I seen it twice all year/ I can't remember how it looks inside, so you can picture how my life's been/ I went from staring at the same four walls for 21 years/ To seeing the whole world in just 12 months, been gone for so long I might've just found God," he breathes in his usual soft voice.

The Weeknd goes on to sing about his off-beat sleeping patterns and drug habits. "My doctor told me to stop, and he gave me something to pop/ And I mix it up with some Adderalls and I wait to get to the top/ And I mix it up with some alcohol and I pour it up in a shot/ I don't care about you, why you worried about me," he goes on before warning: "This ain't ...

Kanye West Sports ‘Band-Aid,’ Jokes With Ben Affleck In ‘SNL’ Promo

Kanye West may not be doing any skits on the season finale this weekend, but he showed that he definitely has a funny bone in spots promoting the show.

Yeezy cracked a few jokes alongside this week's host Ben Affleck and cast member Fred Armisen. In the first of three ads, Fred starts beat-boxing in an effort to coax 'Ye into a freestyle session. "No, no stop. Don't do that," West says with a straight face while rocking a bandage on his head.

The bandage is mostly likely part of the joke. On May 10, a video of the G.O.O.D Music spitter walking into a pole while trying to evade the paparazzi was released online. And during New York performance on Wednesday night 'Ye didn't seem all too happy. "So I don't want nobody trying to run up on me with no cameras, trying to sell pictures and sh-- to magazines, asking me no dumbass questions, throwing me off of my focus and sh--," he belted in a freestyle rant.

During Wednesday's show, West also let it be known that he will be doing no "SNL" skits. "Hell nah, I ain't doing no mother----ing 'SNL' skits; this my goddamn life. This ain't no mother----ing joke," he said.

But the rapper took off his cool for the ads. In the third spot, West and Affleck teased Armisen after he branded the trio as "three award winners." "What award did you win Fred?" Affleck asked before Yeezy chimed in: "Yeah, what award was that?"

Skit or not, Kanye is expected to perform two ...

Demi Lovato Talks About People Who Inspired Demi’s ‘Emotional’ Songs

Demi Lovato wants your undivided attention on her latest album, Demi.

The pop powerhouse bares all on her latest effort, weaving honest lyrics into power anthems and big ballads. And Lovato says these tracks perfectly describe who she is, which is why there was no hesitation when she decided to appropriately title the album, Demi.

"With this album we are going towards a more mainstream audience," Lovato explained during "So if there's a lot of people out there who don't know who I am because they didn't watch 'X Factor' or Disney channel or whatever, it is. And so this is the first time that some people are going to be seeing me, and I wanted them to really get to know who I am, but now you do, I'm going to tell you."

And that she does, bouncing back and forth between emotional tales of heartbreak and love. And Lovato wanted to make sure that her story was told by writing 10 out of the 13 tracks.

"With a lot of the music, I feel if you are only signing other people's songs it makes it harder for people to understand your story and relate," Lovato said before admitting that her favorite song at the moment is "Made in the USA." "So it was my goal to write every single song on the album and then I fell in love with songs I didn't write, but who cares...still sound good."

Earlier this year, Lovato told MTV News that when fans listened to her album it would say a lot ...

How Far Will ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Boldly Go At Box Office?

is about to get beamed out of the top spot. Marvel's follow-up to will certainly live long and prosper with its nearly $1 billion box-office bounty, but this weekend is going to belong to Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock.

the sequel to director J.J. Abrams' 2009 reboot of the nearly 50-year-old sci-fi franchise, is expected to dominate the North American box-office as it warp speeds its way toward a $100 million four-day-plus kickoff. The movie, boasting a heavily guarded secret about its villain and the return of Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, opened exclusively in IMAX on Wednesday (making an estimated $3.3 million from 336 locations), followed by regular and 3-D showings on Thursday.

"Star Trek" should beat the $75 million domestic launch of its predecessor by at least $25 million. It's outperforming the first movie overseas as well, where it was released in seven markets a week earlier. "Into Darkness" carried a much larger production budget than Abrams' first foray into the "Trek" universe, with a larger marketing budget behind it as well.

Captain Kirk and crew will certainly steal much of the main demographic for "Iron Man 3," but Tony Stark's latest adventure should still be the runner-up with an expected $30 million domestic haul. While it won't make as much as "The Avengers" in the long run, "Iron Man 3" will certainly crack $1 billion worldwide and is far and away more successful than its predecessors.

With no other big new wide releases in theaters, last weekend's runner-up should fall just one spot to #3. ...

‘American Idol’ Runner-Up Kree Harrison Tells Fans To ‘Stay Tuned’

Kree Harrison isn't letting her loss to Candice Glover get her down. In fact, she's got some big plans for the future — plans that might even involve departing judge and "Idol" vet Randy Jackson.

"It was sad. We'll see each other. I know we will," the 22-year-old Texas native told MTV News after Thursday night's "Idol" season finale. "I love him and apparently we have a mutual friend, which I didn't even know until the other day. And, so I would love to work with him in the future. I adore him."

She added that her song, "All Cried Out," which she performed during the season, is a pretty good indicator of what's next for her. She explained, "I would want that to be my single, either way. I hope [to debut new music on the road]. Stay tuned."

The 40-date "Idol" tour will kick off in St. Louis at the end of June, and Harrison is looking forward to performing for the fans who helped her get all the way to the finale. "I get to travel the country and thank each and every one of them for voting for me and getting me this far," she said. "As many hugs as I can possible give, I will."

This year's "Idol" finale was characteristically action-packed and drama-filled. Before Candice was crowned the winner, there was one show-stopping performance after another, including a team-up between the two finalists to perform the 5th Dimension's "One Less Bell to Answer."

Before host Ryan Seacrest called out Candice's name, the two women stood together, ...

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’: The Secret Behind The Mystery Villain

"Star Trek Into Darkness" is out, and J.J. Abrams' mystery box is wide open. So what's inside? The answer made Trekkies squeal and groan in equal measure and confused many of the uninitiated, but now we're left to wonder what it all meant.

Spoilers on spoilers on spoilers ahead.

When the whole song and dance of rumors and denials was done, Benedict Cumberbatch ended up being Khan, as many, many people (including the MTV News team) had predicted and Abrams himself previously denied. The choice confused some fans, since John Harrison's true identity didn't affect the story in a significant way, and even more "Trek" novices had to rely word of Spock Prime (Leonardo Nemoy in another cameo) to believe that this guy wasn't to be messed with. So how did we get here? Let's take a trip back through a "Star Trek" wormhole.

Planting The Space Seed
The initial rumors that Khan might make an appearance in a sequel to 2009's "Star Trek" reboot came right from the source. Writer Roberto Orci, in an interview with Ain't It Cool News, openly said that "if you're a 'Trek' fan, there's no way Khan isn't at the top of the list of things you want to play with."

That first spark started an avalanche of questioning that continued right up until the release of "Star Trek Into Darkness." Just a few days after Orci's AICN interview, MTV News asked Abrams about the possibility of Khan in the sequel. "It'll be fun to hear what Alex and Bob are thinking ...
