Selena Gomez Will ‘Always Be Close to My Heart,’ Demi Lovato Says

They grew up together on the small screen and collaborated on music and TV movies and, in the process, became best friends.

Since meeting back in 2002 on the set of "Barney & Friends," Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez have managed the impossible: maintaining their lifelong bond in the public spotlight. Yet, like with any friendship, they have endured some hardships over the years and at times stopped communicating, which Lovato opened up about during her special Tuesday.

"We've been through a lot together, we've had periods of times we here we grew apart and we just didn't really talk," Lovato said, possibly referring to the time in 2010 when she opened up to Girls Life magazine alluding to the fact they were no longer friends due to a trust issue.

However, the former Disney starlets have put the past in the past and are back on track. "Now we are in a place where I think we realized that life is so short and that when you have people in your life that love you so much then, you should just always be around them," Lovato said. "She's going to be a big sister, and I want to be around for that. Everything about her, she has a great soul, she's talented, she's beautiful, and she will always be really, really close to my heart."

Why Did Demi Go Blonde?

Lovato said the two don't talk every day, but that "doesn't invalidate" their friendship at all, being that they are each other's biggest supporters.

Thirty Seconds To Mars’ ‘New Beginning’ Starts With LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS

Thirty Seconds To Mars are less than a week away from the release of their LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS album, but at the moment, they have more important things on their minds.

"I'm talking to Buzz-F---ing-Aldrin right now!" Jared Leto exclaimed, furiously texting away on his phone. "He came to our 'Church of Mars' show in DC — one of the free shows we're doing around the country — and it was, needless to say, amazing to meet him."

"We got to meet him the other day in DC and it was so cool to have that dude in the room," Tomo Milicevic added. "Plus, we have one of the most amazing Vines ever with him, where he's doing the 'Best Time Ever' face."

In case you were wondering, here is what doing the "Best Time Ever" face with the second guy to ever walk on the moon looks like. Of course, Mars are pretty used to rubbing elbows with astronauts these days; back in March, they launched the first copy of their single "Up In The Air" into orbit on board a SpaceX rocket, then conducted a live Q&A with one of the astronauts living on the International Space Station.

In short, they've literally gone out of their way (like, thousands of miles above the planet) to promote their new record, so while chatting with Buzz Aldrin is nice and all, Mars also realized it was time to get down to business: LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS is due to be released on May 21, and needless ...

Lil Wayne Brought ‘Positive Energy’ To Emmett Till’s Story, Future Says

Future doesn't believe Lil Waynehad any bad intent when he recorded his controversial Emmett Till line on the first . In fact, the way the Astronaut Kid sees things, Weezy helped educate people on the slain civil rights figure in a round-about way.

"I think overall with the whole situation he did bring light in a positive way to what happened, even though they might've thought it was negative, he brought positive energy to the situation," Future said on Tuesday when he phoned into Big Boy's Neighborhood radio show on Los Angeles Power 106. "He raised awareness to people who didn't even know Emmett Till, to young kids that never even knew what happened to him."

In 1955, Till, who was just a teenager, was fatally beaten by a group of white men after he whistled at a white woman. His mother insisted that her son have an open casket funeral so the world can see and remember the brutality of the racially charged murder. Till has been referenced in rap lyrics before, most notably by Kanye West and Remy Ma with no protest, but Wayne's "Karate Chop" lyric struck a chord with Till family representatives after the song dropped in February. "Beat the p---y up like Emmett Till," Weezy rhymed, drawing a dark reference to the civil rights figure.

"The record, it was done from a good place, good art, he ain't have no bad intentions when he was thinking about it like that," Future told MTV News back in February.

Future's label, Epic Records, quickly removed the controversial ...

‘Star Trek’ Baddie Benedict Cumberbatch Reveals Role’s Biggest Challenge

In Benedict Cumberbatch plays John Harrison, a would-be terrorist who sets his sights on Starfleet for reasons that may lead to intergalactic war.

But joining an ensemble cast whose collegial familiarity with one another is palpable both on and off screen, Cumberbatch said he struggled occasionally to keep his villainous character separate from folks he would otherwise characterize as friends.

"The only hardship of playing that kind of a character is that I did have to physically remove myself on a couple of occasions," Cumberbatch told MTV News. "To just get my game on, set my head straight and realize that there was glass, literal and figurative, between my character and their characters."

Cumberbatch said he deeply admired the familial energy shared by the actors who starred in the first "Star Trek." "As a fan of the first one, it so came across, and that was the joyous thing about it," Cumberbatch explained. "You thought you'd known these characters, not just because you were re-creating iconic characters from this franchise, but because of the chemistry between you. And it just seemed effortless, because you were being so bold, and such light touches at the same time."

Find Out What 'Star Trek Into Darkness' Was Almost Named!

"Star Trek Into Darkness" was directed by J.J. Abrams, who helmed the 2009 "Star Trek" reboot and helped develop the ensemble that is now associated with the franchise. Abrams credits great casting directors and collaborations for the natural chemistry his actors share onscreen. "The extraordinary casting directors helped us find these actors that literally were a ...

Britney Spears Thinks Her Sons Would Be ‘Good In The Limelight’

Watch out, world: There might be a couple more Spearses in the limelight soon. Britney Spears' sons, Jayden and Sean, seem to have caught the performing bug from their superstar mom.

"They do like attention, so I think they would probably be good in the limelight," she told "Extra" about her two kids with ex Kevin Federline. "We're taking baby steps at this point, right now, as far as agencies and stuff go, but they're little comedians. So, I don't know, we'll see."

Speaking of baby steps, Spears, who split up with her agent fiancé Jason Trawick in January and has since been spotted with rumored beau David Lucado, admitted to wanting more kids, someday. She gushed, "Awww, I want a girl!"

But, for now, Spears is busy with work. Since leaving the "X Factor", she's put her focus on her upcoming album release, as well as prepping for her Vegas live show. The show is set to debut this fall. "I'm excited," she said of the Sin City gig. "I love Vegas any time I get to go there, so I'm excited, I'm pumped. I haven't done a show in a really long time, so it'll be fun."

And, new music is also on the horizon. In addition to dropping a new song, off the "Smurfs 2" soundtrack this summer, Spears has been hitting the studio and holding brainstorming sessions with will.i.am, who is executive producing her next project. Ryan Seacrest Calls Randy Jackson’s ‘American Idol’ Departure ‘Bittersweet’

It was clear from his on-screen reaction last week that Ryan Seacrest was a bit stunned when his big dawg, Randy Jackson announced that he was leaving after Thursday night's season 12 finale.

"It's bittersweet, because I love the guy," Seacrest said of last week's surprise announcement, which even appeared to catch him off-guard. "I want him to go do what he wants to do. I love him and I can't imagine walking out, going down those stairs and not seeing Randolph Jackson sitting behind the panel. [I'm] proud of what he's brought to our show for 12 years now."

"Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to rest, after 12 years of judging on 'American Idol' I have decided it is time to leave after this season," Jackson said in last week's statement about his decision. "I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It's been a life-changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures."

The host with the most is keeping his chin up, though, and Seacrest is focusing on Thursday's finale, which will crown either Candice Glover or Kree Harrison the first female "Idol" in six seasons.

When MTV News spoke to Seacrest he hadn't yet screened this years winner's songs, but was expecting to hear them before Wednesday night's (May 15) final performance show. "They've got a lot to live up to after last year's big smash with Phillip [Phillips' 'Home']," he said. "I know both those girls ...

Rock The Bells To Reincarnate Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Eazy-E

The lineup for the 10th anniversary edition of the Rock the Bells festival is already packed with a huge roster of stars, including Wu-Tang Clan, Kid Cudi, Common, Tyler, the Creator and Rakim.

But it's the special guests among the mix of iconic and newer rap acts that promoters announced on Tuesday that really blew minds. Holograms of late Wu-Tang MC Ol' Dirty Bastard and late N.W.A. member Eazy-E will virtually appear on the stage.

According to Allhiphop, Eazy will perform alongside protégés Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, while ODB will join the reunited
Clan for the first time since his death nearly a decade ago. It will be the Rock the Bells debut for Eazy, who died in 1995, and only the second time ODB will perform at the festival.

The holograms were reportedly approved by Eazy's wife, Tomica Wright and ODB's mother, Cherry Jones and they come two years after the idea of holographic performances by dead rappers became a possibility thanks to Tupac Shakur's virtual resurrection at Coachella last year.

The rest of the lineup for the show includes: Big Krit, Black Hippy, Bodega Bamz, Brother Ali, Chase and Status, Curren$y, Danny Brown, Dilated Peoples, Dizzy Wright, Dom Kenney, E-40 and Too Short, Earl Sweatshirt, Flatbush Zombies, Hit-Boy, Hopsin, Immortal Technique, Jhene Aiko, Juicy J, Jurassic 5, Lecrae, Mimosa, Prof, Show Tha Product, Supernatural, Talib Kweli and Tech N9ne.

Beyonce Sends Fans Heartfelt Apology For First Postponed Show ‘In My Life’

It takes more than some dehydration and exhaustion to keep Beyoncé down. A day after postponing a show
in Antwerp, Belgium, on doctor's orders, the singer posted a heartfelt note to fans apologizing for what she claimed was her first missed gig ever.

"To my dearest fans in Antwerp," read the handwritten letter posted on her Facebook page. "I've never postponed a show in my life. It was very hard for me. I promise I will make it up very soon. I'm sorry if I disappointed you. Thank you for your concern. I'm feeling much better now and I'm ready to give you a great show."

Though her spokesperson said on Monday that it remained to be seen if Bey would be able to recover in time for the second Antwerp show, the singer signed off by saying, "see you tonight."

The tour kicked off in Serbia on April 15 and is scheduled to continue through an August 5 date at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. She has played 20 dates so far and has 11 European shows left after the Antwerp gigs before the production kicks into gear again with a June 28 date at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The postponement comes just one day after the latest rumors popped up that Bey, 31, might be pregnant with her second child with husband Jay-Z.

A spokesperson for the singer did not return requests for comment on the postponement or the pregnancy rumors.
