It's safe to say blockbuster season is in full swing when a $50 million debut isn't enough to be #1 at the box-office.

beat industry expectations with a super strong $51.1 million opening over the weekend, which would have been enough for the top spot were it not for a certain Marvel Comics superhero. held onto the #1 position for a second consecutive weekend with a $72.5 million domestic total, the fourth biggest second weekend in history after "The Avengers," "Avatar" and "The Dark Knight."

Downey's third solo outing as the armored Avenger has now made $289.4 million domestically and more than $664 million internationally for an overall total of $949 million. $95.3 million was collected in China, where audiences were treated to exclusive Chinese specific sequence. "Iron Man 3" is huge in South Korea and is now the highest-grossing film ever in Malaysia and Indonesia. It should join the elite club of movies to have cracked $1 billion before this week is over.

"The Great Gatsby" enjoyed the third biggest opening ever for a film that was blocked from making it to #1; "Iron Man 3" did the same thing to Baz Luhrmann's take on the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic as "Shrek 2" managed to do with "The Day After Tomorrow" in 2004 and "Avatar" did with Downey's "Sherlock Holmes" in 2009. It was the second biggest opening for Leonardo DiCaprio (behind "Inception") and will soon overtake "Moulin Rouge" as Luhrmann's highest grossing film ever.

Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's "Pain & Gain" came in third ...

‘Arrested Development’ Trailer: The Gang’s All Here

There are certain things you want from the Bluths: stair cars, bad magic, blinged out hook hands and potential cousin-on-cousin action. That's why the 90-second trailer for the upcoming reboot season of
 is almost perfect.

The cult comedy is coming back on May 26 in a 15-episode all-at-once season on Netflix that brings us up to speed on what the key family members have been up to since we last saw them. And fans of the low-rated, but beloved original series will have plenty to love in the snapshots of the Bluths being, well, the Bluths.

A few highlights:
» The "sane one," Michael, opens the trailer at Phoenix's Sky Harbor airport, where he arrives in search of a new place to live, only to burn his hand on the super-heated door handle of a waiting taxi. He gets an unwelcome surprise in the next scene, when he pops in to visit son George Michael in his college dorm room ... where the freshman appears to be shacked up with his favorite cousin, Maebe.

» In a quick-cut montage we get re-introduced to the whole insane gang: Michael, Gob, Lindsay, George Michael, Lucille, Tobias Funke, George, Maebe and Buster, who is, of course, freaking out about something.

» The world's most confounding couple share a tender moment, when blonde beauty Lindsay tells sexually ambiguous Tobias, "I really love you," and he responds, "Oh, Lindsey, we've got to get you to that acting class."

» Family patriarch George telling someone over the phone, "I just want my son to have a ...

Doh! Justin Bieber Doesn’t Make Cut In ‘Simpsons’ Cameo

In classic fashion, the much-hyped Justin Bieber cameo on Sunday night's episode of "The Simpsons" was essentially a throw-away joke that you might have missed it if wasn't for an on-screen warning.

Bieber popped in briefly during an episode entitled in which Bart pretends to be a keyboard prodigy because he is smitten by his sexy Russian piano teacher.

"First of all, you're over 10 years old, second, you're clearly Justin Bieber," says the security guard at the entrance to the 10-And-Below talent show. An incredulous Bieber, wearing a Versace leather jacket and gray T-shirt, throws up his hands and says, "That's another 25 bucks we'll never see! Gosh!" Standing right behind him in a white hoodie, blue sport coat and NY baseball cap is manager Scooter Braun, who did not get a line in the bit.

After Bieber stomps off, the scene changes and the words, "All clear — The Simpsons will be Bieber-free from this point on." Just before his appearance, a similar warning popped up, "Thirty seconds to Justin Bieber, you may start or stop watching according to your beliefs."

Like Lady Gaga in 2011,
Bieber played himself in the episode.

With the bucket list check off, Bieber joins a long, and illustrious list of famous musicians who've swung by Springfield (either as themselves or characters), including: three Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Katy Perry, Smashing Pumpkins, Cypress Hill, U2, Fall Out Boy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Ramones, the White Stripes, R.E.M., Michael Jackson, Metallica, Britney Spears, 50 Cent and Coldplay's Chris Martin.

‘Star Trek’ Fights ‘Exhausting And Exhilarating’ For Benedict Cumberbatch

In Benedict Cumberbatch plays a mysterious newcomer who quickly finds himself facing off against the crew of the Enterprise. In an epic fight scene with Mr. Spock himself, Zachary Quinto, Cumberbatch says he wore himself out even before he actually got on set to shoot the sequence.

"It was exhausting but so exhilarating," Cumberbatch told MTV News last week. "These guys had been training a little bit longer than I had, because I was late to the process of being part of the film. But one of the best parts was the fight rehearsals with Zach and our amazing, amazing stunt doubles. I was dragged up to a standard — to his standard — by the most extraordinary experts."

Director J.J. Abrams sat in the director's chair for the franchise for the second time on "Into Darkness," but even he admitted that the sequence turned out more impressively than he had expected. "The fun of it was to shoot it outside with this built piece of this ship with actual wind and smoke and the sun," Abrams explained.

"It ended up looking so crazy real even before we did the visual effects," he observed. "The sun was huge, but we got the camera movement on such a grand scale so you knew you weren't on a stage. I mean, it was a really crazy thing to shoot."

Quinto revealed that they shot the sequence on just one moving platform, but in the film, it looks like he and Cumberbatch square off on two. He admitted that seeing the end result took ...

"I didn't put you down for the first five years of your life," she replied. "I have a broken hipbone because of it."

Even though Paola appears to drive him crazy in the reality/talk show, Vinny shrugged his shoulders and grinned when referred to as "a momma's boy" by his uncle.

"There was one particular time, Mother's Day, he was young, and he wasn't allowed to walk anywhere alone," his mom recalled when asked a favorite memory of her son. "He walked like half a mile, and he came back with a gift for me. But he was young, he wasn't allowed to do that, and he did it anyway. He got yelled at for doing that, but he did."

Check out these Mother's Day cards from MTV's cutest kids!

‘Man Of Steel’ U.K. Ad: Russell Crowe Tells Superman To Dream Big

The ads for have spared no effort rendering the film's iconic hero, Superman, as nothing less than a messiah for the people of Earth. And in a new U.K. television ad, Supes' father Jor-El, played by Russell Crowe, meditates on the potential his son may one day have.

"What if a child dreamed of becoming something other than what society intended?" he asks. "What if a child aspired to something greater?"

The "something greater," according to the clip, is a lot of stone-faced reactions from Kal-El himself, Henry Cavill, as he squares off against the franchise's greatest villain, General Zod (Michael Shannon). Amidst shots of Superman being taken into custody by the same mortals he has sworn to protect, Zod lays waste to buildings and airplanes before the Son of Krypton finally loses his composure and decides to fight back.

How Michael Shannon became General Zod in "Man of Steel."

"300" and "Watchmen" filmmaker Zack Snyder directed "Man of Steel" from a script written by David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan, whose work with Batman made the "Dark Knight" trilogy one of the most popular and critically acclaimed comic book adaptations of all time. Cavill co-stars with Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Christopher Meloni. The film offers its own "Batman Begins"-style origin story for the superhero, appearing to ignore the stories previously told in "Superman" and more recently, Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns."

With fan expectations high for the film, "Man of Steel" could re-launch the franchise if it's as successful as distributor Warner Bros. hopes it ...
