‘Powers’ TV Series Heads To PlayStation Network

The long-awaited adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's comic book series "Powers" is still on the way — but now, it's been given new life thanks to the video game industry.

The Sony Pictures Television adaptation was previously set up at FX, with the network going so far as to produce an unreleased pilot starring Jason Patric and Charles S. Dutton. Now, "Powers" will come to viewers through the PlayStation Network. The video game console has ordered "Powers" straight to series, in what's likely to be a 10-episode order, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Powers," written by Bendis and illustrated by Oeming, takes place in a world where super-human men and women exist. Much like the title, these people are referred to as "powers." Detective Christian Walker, played by Jason Patric in the FX pilot, is one such powered individual; he investigates cases involving other "powers," alongside his partner Deena Pilgrim, played in the FX pilot by Lucy Punch.

With "Powers" moving away from FX and landing at PlayStation, the comic book series will undergo some changes, including an overhaul of the cast from the unaired pilot. Bendis and Oeming will executive produce the series alongside writer Charlie Huston, as well as several "Walking Dead" veterans including Circle of Confusion's David Alpert.

The worlds of comic book television and original digital programming seem to be bigger now than ever. With "Powers" now on the way as PlayStation's first original series offering, it seems that those worlds will only continue to grow.

What do you think of the news of "Powers" ...

7 ‘Game Of Thrones’ Movies We Want To See

Seven kingdoms, seven gods, seven seasons — seven movies?

As it stands, is about to enter its fourth season of television. But George R.R. Martin, the wildly imaginative mind behind the novels that inspire the HBO fantasy series, says the prospect of a big-budget "Game of Thrones" movie is already "being actively discussed."

"It all depends on how long the main series runs," he told The Hollywood Reporter this week. "Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope). It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know."

If Martin and HBO want "Thrones" movies, there's certainly no shortage of material to pick from. Here are our suggestions for seven "Game of Thrones" movies that could kick all kinds of Westerass.

"The World of Ice and Fire"
Later in the year, Martin and co-writers Elio Garcia and Linda Antonsson of Westeros.org release a massive book called "The World of Ice and Fire," which goes into great detail about the various lands and rich history surrounding the "Thrones" source material. A film series with similar branding could explore quite literally whatever it wants, dating as far back as the fall of Valyria to future events we've yet to even consider.

"The Long Night"
Ancient Westeros history includes a period of darkness called "The Long Night," during which the first order of the Night's Watch assembled alongside the Children of ...

‘Arrow’: Everything You Missed On ‘Suicide Squad’

It was one of the most anticipated episodes of "

Can You Diggle It?
In this week's Diggle-centric episode of "Arrow," Oliver Queen takes a backseat as his head of security embarks on a quest to retrieve a biochemical weapon for A.R.G.U.S. leader, Amanda Waller.

Meanwhile, Oliver does everything in his power to track down Slade Wilson, Dig is enlisted for a special A.R.G.U.S. task force joining the likes of Bronze Tiger, Shrapnel, and Deadshot. Although initially hesitant about the whole thing, he soon comes to realize that good and evil aren't always that easy to differentiate.

Mockingbird
Although we've seen Amanda Waller a few times so far this season, we've never really seen her in action. "Suicide Squad" shows us a whole new side of "The Wall"; a leader who isn't afraid to manipulate her teammates in order to get what she wants. The Amanda Waller seen in this week's episode is a no-nonsense, tough as nails professional who will sacrifice her own task force if necessary, as she is in the DC comic book universe.

Deadshot's Daughter
Adding a layer of humanity to his character, Floyd Lawton reveals that he has a daughter, Zoe, whom he chooses to stay away from for her own good. According to the comics, Deadshot eventually takes on all of the local gangs in Star City as a means of cleaning up the streets for his daughter. Here's hoping we see something of a similar nature in an upcoming episode of "Arrow."

Missing Members
While being introduced to the rest of the Suicide Squad, a familiar voice is heard offscreen offering ...

Get Jealous: Two One Direction Fans Went On A Date With Harry And Liam

Remember when you went on a double date with Harry Styles and Liam Payne? No? Oh, sorry, must have gotten you confused with this girl.

The One Direction guys teamed up with Trekstock — a charity that funds research for young people with cancer — to take two lucky fans on an intimate double date in the heart of London on Tuesday night.

The campaign kicked off last summer. Fans were asked to make donations on the company's website. After they hit their goal of $500K — and surpassed it with a hefty $784,245 — a winner was selected at random.

The lucky lady was merely identified as "Allison T." on the website, but no matter who she is, she and her plus one seemed to have an awfully great time. In addition to their night out with Liam and Harry, they were also treated to a three-night stay at London's 5-star Soho Hotel and handed $750 to splurge on the city's Carnaby Street.

King Los Leaves Bad Boy: Was Diddy’s ‘Nobody’ Rant The Reason?

Rick Ross and French Montana deliver an unforgettable performance on the Boss' new single but Bad Boy CEO Diddy absolutely stole the show.

The standout Mastermind track samples audio of Puff passionately tearing down and somehow trying to motivate an unknown member of his team. Ross told "RapFix Live" that the audio came from a very real conversation and while he told us that it wasn't French Montana on the receiving end of the rant, he left the door open.

"When I took [the rant] and chopped it up and put it on my record I gave him my word. I would never reveal who it was that he was scolding because it's someone you know," Ross told us on March 6.

So when former Bad Boy artist King Los stopped by the "RFL" couch on Wednesday (March 19), we asked him whether he was on the receiving end of Diddy's tongue-lashing.

"I love the mystique of this. I'ma let this play out a little bit, but boy, your intuitive skills, man," Los told Sway insinuating that he may have been the one Diddy was talking to.

On the track, the music mogul warns of unsavory individuals ready to bring members of his team down. "These n---as is roaches. These n---as is mere mother---in' mortals," Puffs barks on the track. "You wanna walk around with them or you wanna walk with God, n---a?"

"I had something to do with it," Los admitted, being very vague about the whole thing.

Earlier on Wednesday, Los announced on Shade 45's "Sway in the Morning" ...

This Is What Maggie Q’s ‘Divergent’ Dress Would Look Like With Underwear

The stars of the soon-to-be hit flick, strutted their stuff on the black carpet at the film's premiere on Tuesday with the stars rocking both daring and classic looks.

While most of the attention was thought to go to the film's star Shailene Woodley, who looked positively stunning in a gold sequin one-shoulder Elie Saab gown, or even Kate Winslet, who 14 weeks after giving birth, looked as glamorous as ever in a crimson dress, it was Maggie Q who may have stolen the show.

Maggie Q, who plays the Dauntless aptitude test facilitator, Tori, in the flick, bared all at the big premiere by going commando on the red carpet. The "Nikita" star left her undergarments at home to rock a super-sexy Anthony Vaccarello cut-out dress. But honestly, if we had a body like that we would be doing the same thing.

Well, after seeing her oh-so-sexy ensemble, we thought, what would this dress have looked like if Maggie Q had decided to be a bit more modest and add some undies to the skin baring ensemble? Well, imagine no more.

‘Kill Bill 3’: Uma Thurman Is Waiting On Tarantino, Just Like Us

In the last few years, Quentin Tarantino has pretty much completely cooled on the idea of returning to his character The Bride for a "Kill Bill Vol. 3." Back when the two-parter was originally hitting theaters, the writer-director talked about possibly catching up with Beatrix Kiddo down the road once Vernita Green's daughter catches up with her.

That was the idea until about the time Tarantino started rewriting history with "Inglourious Basterds" and "Django Unchained." In an interview with MTV News, he said that he felt like he had accomplished his mission with two volumes. "I think I killed Bill," he said. "I don't know. I could change my mind about it, but I don't know. It's looking like not."

But Tarantino, while obviously a huge factor in the "Kill Bill Vol. 3" equation, is only half of the creative team behind The Bride.

Uma Thurman, the actress who played Kiddo, is the other part, but I spoke with her at press day for Lars Von Trier's newest movie, "Nymphomanic," — which she is amazing in, by the way — she stressed that it's Tarantino's decision to make.

"Ultimately, of course, it's a Quentin Tarantino call because he would have to decide to do it," she said. "He's so full of bean and ideas that he'll either have the lightning bolt of inspiration about it or he won't. So who knows? When the fat lady sings, we shall know."
So for now, the answer remains the same. Until Tarantino changes his mind about a third "Kill Bill," we're just going to have ...
