After spending some time on the Broadway circuit, Michelle Williams is back on her music grind, prepping her Journey To Freedom album for release this fall. One of the project’s lead singles is “Say Yes,” which features her Destiny’s Child girls, Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland.

Fans were thrilled to see the ladies come together again, but Williams says that this was always in the plan. “It feels wonderful [to work with them], and no matter how much we try to say it’s not a Destiny’s Child song [it doesn't matter],” she told MTV News, laughing.

“It’s not going on a Destiny’s Child album, it’s going on my album featuring Beyoncé and Kelly, the same way Kelly featured us on her album. But no matter how much we try to separate ourselves when we’re together, it is what it is — this is the group.”

Williams explained that she and the girls made a pact to keep working on each other’s solo projects, and they definitely kept their word.

“There was an interview we did some years ago saying that we would participate, in whatever capacity, on each other’s solo projects,” she explained. “Whether that is appearing with Beyoncé from time to time on her tours, or on shows, or Kelly’s album, so this was my turn now to have them on an original song on my album.”

After another disappointing season with the New York Knicks, Carmelo Anthony is now a free agent, and NBA fans are waiting with baited breath to see where he ends up. There’s been lots of talk about him signing with the Chicago Bulls, and one Chi-Town native really wants to see it happen.

That’d be R. Kelly. And he’s so desperate for Carmelo to sign a deal in his city, that he’s offering White Castle meals and even a serenade.

During an interview with the Morning Riot in Chicago, Kellz went a little cuckoo for Carmelo. “I would love to see Melo on the Chicago Bulls,” he shouted, completely unable to contain his enthusiasm. “I’ma get down on my knees baby, I would love to have you in Chicago my dude.”

Melo, you should understand that this move would come with some additional perks, courtesy of R.Kelly. “Come to Chicago we gon’ lay out the red carpet,” Kellz continued. “I’ma take you to get some gourmet meals, start you off with some White Castle my dude. I’ll even write you a theme song baby!”

A theme song and White Castle? Sold.

While you’re busy worrying about where free agents LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony will end up, someone else was making a big decision. It was Kid Cudi. He decided to go blonde, very blonde.

Cudder broke the news on his Twitter account Tuesday (June 24), by sharing a photo of himself playing a guitar, with the simple caption, “blond.”

Just the fact that Ma$e even plans to release an album this year is exciting, and after hearing the collaborations he has lined up, we’re looking forward to it even more.

Back in May, he dropped the Now We Even track “Nothing,” and during a recent interview with Hot 107.9, the Harlem rapper revealed that Kanye West and Rick Ross will be featured on his upcoming single “Billboard.” And, Dipset will be featured on the album as well — hollarlujah, amen.

“It should be out the first week in October,” Ma$e said. “We gon’ have Yayo on it, Ross, Puff, Dipset. It’s gon’ be really special. This will be what I would have put out after Harlem World, so it’s gonna be really special.”

Last year Ma$e told MTV News that he would only consider signing with Drake and Kanye West. There’s been no update on his label situation, but since he has a ‘Ye collaboration in the bag, maybe Drizzy is on the tracklist as well. We definitely know that the Toronto rapper is interested in working with him.

Trey Songz on ‘Foreign (remix)’ with Bieber

Trey Songz is back with his new album Trigga and we have the exclusive MTV First premiere.

Included on the album is Trey’s “Foreign (remix)” featuring Justin Bieber, which he was very excited to share with fans.

“I’m elated for people to hear how [Bieber] sounds on it, because the first reaction I get from a lot of people is: ‘Who is that?’ Because you don’t expect him to be on a record like that,” Trey told MTV News earlier this month.

“It’s incredible. We’ve seen Justin Bieber grow in the last few years. People have a lot of opinions on how he’s chosen to live his life in a lot of ways, but one thing we can’t deny is that musically, he’s evolved,” Trey added. “Last year he went out on an edge and made the world –basically — accept him doing R&B.”

Despite all of her teasing, we’re almost sure that Nicki Minaj will never actually marry Drake, and since they know each other so well, she’s the perfect girl to give some advice on dating him.

During an interview with Capital Xtra, Nicki gave a couple of tips on snagging Drake, and pretty much admitted that she would never seriously date another artist. Any quotes you’ve seen about her calling him the “perfect man”? Well, she doesn’t quite remember saying that.

“I don’t remember saying that he’s a perfect man — maybe I was joking? He is perfect but I don’t know about guys in the industry. I don’t know about other artists. I think two artists [dating] that’s hard,” she said.

Well, for all the other ladies out there who would be interested in dating Drake, what’s the game plan?

“I think what works with Drake is if you act like you don’t like him,” Nicki said, jokingly adding, “Be horrible to him and then you’ll get [his attention].”

“I’m kidding. I think he likes intellectual women actually. He likes fat asses but I think he [also] likes a girl who can hold a conversation.”

And can we expect a Drake feature on her upcoming album The Pink Print?

Don’t even bother trying to understand Azealia Banks’ reasoning. The Harlem rapper has become notorious for feuding with other artists (for no legitimate reason), and after she spent last week hurling insults at T.I. and his family, now she’s praising Lana Del Rey and Kesha. What?

On Sunday, Banks was probably browsing Spotify, or her iTunes library, because she started to tweet about both singers. First she wrote, “Ultraviolence is amazing. I love Lana,” and then added, “I really like ke$ha. She lives in her truth.”

Now, we’d like to point out that Lana Del Rey’s authenticity has been questioned over and over again, since she emerged in the spotlight, and yet she’s the artist that Banks is in love with? Maybe Azealia Banks just has a really soft spot for pop stars?

A warm welcome was out of the question for Rick Ross this weekend. The Miami rapper was slated to perform at Hot 107.5′s Summer Jamz 17 concert in Detroit on Saturday, but when he showed up at the venue he was denied entrance to Chene Park by a mob of people.

According to MLive, a press release from the venue said that Rozay had to cancel his set after a “human blockade” of about 150 people, led by a local rapper, were threatening his life.

“The local rapper” was not named, but there’s speculation that part of the reason Rozay was denied, is thanks to a song called “No Fly Zone,” from Detroit native Trick Trick. Royce Da 5′ 9” is featured on the song, which essentially encourages fans to not support rappers who don’t collaborate with Detroit natives.

Hot 107.5′s program director, Jay Hicks, gave this explanation to the crowd.

“I’m going to be real with y’all. I’m going to be real as f—. We had Rick Ross right outside here tonight,” Hicks said. “At about 11 o’clock, when he was pulling up to come into Chene Park, he was met by 100 individuals outside. We have tried to pull every resource together and asked him to come back. He is in fear of his life.”

“And he may never come back to Detroit, and that’s no bullsh–,” Hicks added. “This is some real sh–. He was in fear of his life and he is not performing ...

Maybe Jay Z wasn’t sitting court side when LeBron and the Heat lost to the Spurs Sunday night, but his presence was still felt. During game 5 of the NBA Finals, Beats By Dre debuted a remix of X Ambassadors and Jamie N Commons’ single “Jungle,” featuring Jay.

The rock-heavy, upbeat track, produced by Alex Da Kid, originally appeared in Beats’ five-minute “Game Before the Game” commercial last week, featuring stars like Lil Wayne and Heat star James, but a revamped version hit TV last night. Shortly before that, Dre hinted that something big was coming, with a tweet directed at Jay. The full song will be available exclusively for Beats subscribers in the next week.

This one is for motivation and Hov knows there are “records to break, medals to take, flags to wave,” especially with the World Cup in full swing.

Dre is having a great year so far. He and Jimmy Iovine recently inked a $3 billion deal with Apple for Beats Music, and then the Doc had the most low-key celebration ever.

Tyler, the Creator might have a soft spot for Jennifer Lawrence, but when he needs to dance like a madman, he apparently hits up Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

On Thursday night, Kendall posted an Instagram video of the Odd Future rapper dancing up a storm with her and her sister — and their dance troupe is known as “The Jealousies.” The wild moves are even more entertaining set to music that sounds like it was pulled from an old Western film.

Tyler was leading the dance up front, so we’re going to assume that he was responsible for coming up with those moves. And since he’s so bored of rapping, and he’s ready to sing, maybe this is all just a part of his new career trajectory.
