Angel Haze And Ludacris Get Amped Up On ’22 Jump Street’ Theme Song

by 06/04/14

22 Jump Street” hits theaters on June 13, and Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum definitely need some music to soundtrack their antics in the film. Producers have tapped Detroit rapper, Angel Haze, for the movie’s title track, “22 Jump Street,” which includes a feature from Ludacris.

Angel Haze has been earning a name for herself in the rap underground, but this new release takes her well outside of her normal output. Her vocals are almost unrecognizable on the frenetic dance-track. Either way, this is a big look for the 22-year-old, and she was proud to share it with fans. Listen to the track above.

In December Haze leaked her album Dirty Gold four months early, after she got sick of waiting on a label release date.

Migos On Justin Bieber’s Racist Joke: ‘He Don’t Use That Lingo Around Us’

by 06/03/14

Trap music fans were surprised to hear Migos show up on Justin Bieber’s recent release “Looking For You,” but the Atlanta rappers tell MTV News that the collaboration came about pretty organically. And, as far as the outcry over Bieber’s offensive racial joke — they don’t support his choice of words, but they don’t think the pop star is racist either.

Just over a week after the collaboration debuted, a leaked video hit the Net, which found 15-year-old Bieber telling a joke that included the “N-word” in the punchline. Bieber has since apologized, and Migos didn’t seem to be too put off by it.

“It wasn’t a good move to make but he accepted what he did and he don’t use that lingo around us,” they told MTV News. “We ain’t personally see the video anyway we just heard about, but it feels [like it's] in the past and that’s not what we condone.

“We do our music together and we’re good through music. So [we] don’t feel like he’s a racist.”

Their collaboration on “Looking For You” was birthed when Biebs took a trip to ATL (maybe around the same time he hit the studio with Ross and Diddy?)

“He was in Atlanta, he came to our city and we linked with him,” Migos said of recording with Bieber. “It wasn’t no ‘send’ situation — we [were] in the booth and working with him was pretty cool. He’s laid back, he be chillin’, ...

Beyonce Once Ran Up On 50 Cent To Defend Jay Z

by 06/03/14

Although people were amazed at how calm Beyoncé remained during that whole elevator scuffle, 50 Cent explains that Queen Bey really doesn’t play any games when it comes to her man.

During a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Fif detailed an encounter with Bey at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas, where she got a little aggressive in defense of Jay Z. Needless to say, it was very unexpected.

“One time she jumped off of a ledge and came running over cause she thought me and Jay had issues,” 50 explained, relaying his surprise. “I was like — “What the f—? Did she really just jump and run at me like that?”

“We was at the Cosmopolitan [hotel] and she jumped out and was like this — ‘What?! That Bonnie and Clyde forreal! You try this or what, boy? I’m here!’ She bugged out at me,” he continued. Apparently Hov thought the whole thing was ridiculous.

“I looked at Jay, [he] started laughing. He’s like, “Yo, you know what it is.”

“I said, ‘Oh sh–! What the f— y’all got going on, man?’ Bey jumped down off of that joint like, ‘What? Wassup?’”

Thankfully everyone laughed that one off. Unlike the whole chain-snatching incident that went down at Summer Jam this weekend.

Gucci Mane Preps World War 3D Albums With Young Thug And Migos

by 06/03/14

Jail can’t hold Gucci Mane back. Last week the Atlanta rapper dropped his new Brick Factory Vol. 1 mixtape from behind bars, and now he’s got big label news.

Gucci has announced plans to release a triple project titled World War 3D, which will feature separate releases from Young Thug (The Purple Album), Migos (The Green Album) and PeeWee Longway (The White Album).

The triple release is set to arrive on June 17. After that, expect more music from Gucci. Trap House 4 and Trap God 3 will drop on July 4 and September 13.

The team has been busy while Gucci’s locked away, facing a potential 20-year sentence for weapons possession.

Young Thug made an appearance at Summer Jam on Sunday night with Nicki Minaj, while his video for “Stoner” is currently in heavy circulation. Migos, on the other hand, are extending their reach right now. The trio was recently featured on Justin Bieber’s single “Looking For You,” which some fans saw as a big look.

Rihanna Hangs With Nicki Minaj And Drake Backstage

by 06/02/14

Nicki Minaj invited Drake to join her on stage at Summer Jam on Sunday night, and Rihanna was there to catch the performance live.

After wrapping her set with Drake and Wayne, Nicki posted an Instagram photo of herself smiling with Rihanna backstage, captioned, “The BADDEST.”

Although Nicki recently admitted that Rih is her ideal woman because she’s the “best fondler ever,” it’s fair to suspect that the Roc Nation singer was actually there to hang with Drizzy. She’s been missing from Instagram for weeks now, which means that she didn’t share any photos of her own, but Nicki put the word out.

She and Drake were spotted canoodling all over Europe recently, and Drake even seemed to have some words for Rihanna on “Days in the East.”

50 Cent Reunites G-Unit, Nicki Minaj Parties With Drake And Lil Wayne At Summer Jam

by 06/02/14

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — Queens made a strong showing at Sunday’s Summer Jam 2014, thanks to Nas, 50 Cent and Nicki Minaj, but a few of the night’s biggest guests also hailed from Toronto, New Orleans and Long Beach.

Wiz Khalifa showed up early on the festival stage, with a cameo from Snoop Dogg and later The Roots were joined by The Lox and M.O.P. for hits like “Wild Out,” “It’s All About the Benjamins” and “Ante Up.” That was just the beginning, though.

After celebrating the 20th anniversary of Illmatic with classics like “New York State of Mind,” and “The World Is Yours,” Nas allowed Meek Mill to briefly tear the stage up with French Montana — and then he introduced a fellow rapper, from Queens: 50 Cent.

The G-Unit CEO emerged to “Hate Me Now,” all smiles, clearly basking in the moment, as he ran through hits like “I Get Money,” “What Up Gangsta” and early mixtape cuts.

What happened next, however, was truly unexpected (especially considering G-Unit’s very recent public disagreements), but 50 actually managed to get Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck on stage for their first joint performance since 2008, hitting tracks like “On Fire,” “So Seductive” and “I Smell P—-.”

That put the crowd on tilt, but Fif didn’t stop there, also bringing out Fabolous and Yo Gotti for the Animal Ambition single “Don’t Worry ‘Bout It.” In fact, 50 was having so much fun that he didn’t want to ...

Drake Hints At New Album On ’0 To 100′

by 06/02/14

You’ve gotta give it to Drake — this man has great timing. Shortly before he joined Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne on stage at Hot 97′s Summer Jam concert in New Jersey on Sunday night, the YMCMB rapper dropped the new song “0 to 100/The Catch Up” in full.

Over a hypnotic Boi-1da beat, with co-production from 40 and Nineteen85, Drizzy goes in for approximately six minutes. He hits everything from groupies, to industry struggles and tough lessons from his Dad, before dropping some big news about things to come for OVO Sound.

“We already got spring 2015 poppin’/ PND droppin’, Reps-up P droppin’, Majid Jordan droppin’, OB droppin’, not to mention me droppin,’” he spits on “1 to 100″ before the beat switches up.

The countdown is on, and it’s sure to be an eventful ride until then. There’s been no shortage of gems from Aubrey recently.

Rihanna Is Nicki Minaj’s ‘Ideal Woman’ Because She’s ‘The Best Fondler Ever’

by 05/30/14

Nicki Minaj collaborated with Rihanna on her 2010 single “Fly,” and even though they also filmed a video for the clip, two of their, um, closest moments happened at awards shows.

In an interview with i-D Magazine, Nicki revealed that Rihanna has gotten very hands-on with her in the past (and she wasn’t complaining about it either).

She named Rih her “ideal woman” with the best explanation ever. “She fondled me at the MTV Awards and the American Music Awards,” Nicki revealed. “I love her. She’s the best fondler ever.”

Why are we not surprised that Rihanna is the “best fondler ever”?

And as for Nicki’s relationship with Drake, well … “One day I will run away with Drake and get married, but right now it’s just a fantasy.”

Join Wiz Khalifa On Set As He Shoots A Trailer For Under The Influence Tour

by 05/30/14

Wiz Khalifa kicks off the third leg of his Under the Influence of Music Tour in July, along with Jeezy and Tyga, and this week the Taylor Gang rapper filmed a trailer for the upcoming jaunt.

MTV News was on set in Los Angeles to capture Wiz and company partying it up poolside in a mansion, and everyone was having a grand ol’ time, including DJ Drama and Mack Wilds, who were both on set.

“The concept is sort of like ‘The Real World’ — a play on reality TV,” Wiz explained. “[It's about] the fact that we’re all friends and we’re gonna be sharing the same space together, just having fun with that idea.”

And that vibe will obviously transfer over to the actual tour. “The chemistry is definitely there because we share a lot of the same common interests,” Wiz said of his tour mates. “We’re young and we’re our own bosses, so we like to just cut up and have fun whenever we get the chance to.”

What Does B.o.B Really Want? Find Out In His New Video

by 05/30/14

B.o.B is currently at work on his No Genre Pt 2 mixtape, but on Friday (May 30), he premiered a brand new video for his single “All I Want,” off of December’s Underground Luxury

A portion of the video finds the Atlanta rapper spitting in front of a wall covered with money, and in other scenes more bills cover the faces of people singing along to the song.

“So many women, so many chains, so many bottles,” he raps — there are just so many things that Bobby Ray wants. And if the hook on “All I Want” is interpreted literally, we’d be led to believe that money is what matters most — but that actually isn’t the truth.

Back in November, MTV News caught up with B.o.B. on the video set where he explained what the song was really about. “You can listen to the song and say, ‘Oh, it’s just about money.’ But it’s not,” he said. “It’s about accomplishment. It’s about growth.”

Watch the clip above.
