If you’re in jail, you’re probably not having the best time of your life, but during Chris Brown’s stint behind bars, he had a couple of encouraging moments. In addition to learning that “Loyal” had hit #1 on the charts while he was incarcerated, Breezy reveals that the guards actually played the song inside the correctional facility.
["They were] playing it over the speakers when I was locked up,” Breezy explained to MTV News. “You know how they’d call you like, ‘Brown you’ve got a visitor’ — they would play the music and I [thought]…this is funny.”
What a co-sign. And obviously “Loyal” was even bigger outside of those walls.

“I got a call from my management team [saying] ‘Loyal’ is number one, and that’s the best feeling in the world, especially when you’re in a dark, terrible place,” he added. “You just want somebody to say ‘aye man whats up, you good?’ or just check on you, and you find out that your music is in every club and everybody’s vibing to it, there’s just no other comparison.”
