Game Decided On A Release Date For The Documentary 2

by 17 mins ago

He’s actually gonna make this happen.

Earlier this month, when MTV News caught up with Game on the set of his “Or Nah” video, he told us there was a chance that The Documentary 2 wouldn’t actually drop in January 2015, like he originally planned — but it looks like things will work out after all.

Since Game is prepping Year of the Wolf, plus that project with Ed Sheeran, he seemed doubtful that his sequel would arrive on time, but a 10-year anniversary only comes around once. He took to Instagram on Thursday night to announce that January 18 is the release date.

“#YearOfTheWolf is finally done,” he wrote of his new Blood Money album, due out in October. “Now on to ‘The Documentary 2′ dropping January 18th…. Exactly 10 years from ‘The Documentary’….. Nobody is f—–g with 2 !!!!!!!!! So don’t drop nowhere near me….. You’ve been warned!”

Sounds like a great anniversary gift.

Ma$e Gets ‘Politically Incorrect’ To Address Michael Brown And Trayvon Martin’s Deaths

by 23 mins ago

Ma$e is prepping his latest album Now We Even, and while his recent releases have been more club and radio friendly, he’s taking a break from the jams for some real talk on “Politically Incorrect.”

Following the huge posse cut on “Don’t Shoot,” the Harlem rapper adds his own two cents to the uproar over the shooting deaths of Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin.

“Rainy night down in Florida, dispatcher said don’t follow him/ How the hell he end up with the coroners? I don’t get it,” Ma$e spits on the track. “I’m politically incorrect, I’ll never sell my own out for a check/ They say that I’m from generation X/ ADD, n—-s don’t know what I’m gon’ do next.”

“It got me wondering, is Obama gon’ protect his own?” he adds. “Yeah, yeah, yeah, I hear all the talk/ But I’m also watching Zimmerman and Wilson walk.”

On “Don’t Shoot,” artists like Game, Wale, Rick Ross, Curren$y, Fabolous and more spoke out about Michael Brown’s death. Proceeds from the song’s sales will be donated to the Michael Brown Memorial Fund.

Listen To Bobby Shmurda’s Official Reggae Remix Of ‘Hot N—a’

by 3 mins ago

Bobby Shmurda deserves an award for keeping this song alive for so long. After joining Drake on stage in New Jersey earlier this week, the Brooklyn rapper came through with the official remix for “Hot N—a” featuring Junior Reid, Mavado, Popcaan and Jah X.

There have been multiple unofficial remixes of the track, but you’ve gotta give it up to Shmurda for going full-on reggae with this one. Honestly, the way Lil Wayne bugged out to this one in the club, we’re surprised he didn’t secure a verse for himself on this version.

Game Had A Close Encounter With Nicki Minaj’s Ass And He’s Happy To Tell The Story

by 2 mins ago

With reporting by Natasha Chandel

Game made an unexpected appearance as the leading man in Nicki Minaj’s “Pills N Potions” video, and of course it was a pretty great experience for him personally.

When the video dropped, fans on Twitter quizzed Nicki about selecting Game as her love interest, but she didn’t bother explaining too much. He gave us a little more detail, though.

“Nicki reached out and I just happened to be not that far from where she was shooting the video,” Game told MTV News, bending over to show off the top of his head as he added, “So I came through and lent my muscles and my waves.”

We were wondering if they’d formally met and kicked it before the video shoot, which led him to drop more than we’d technically asked for.

“That wasn’t the first time I met Nicki, but that was the first time I was up on that ass though.” Oh yeah? “That ass is soft. I just leaned up against it made my little soldier stand at attention.”

That said, is there any chance they would be working together in the future? “You never know. Nicki is a good friend and a great person. The ass on that ‘Anaconda’ cover is crazy.”

And although Game clearly didn’t appear in the video, he did use it for other purposes. Hit the video above to find out. I’m not gonna write that down.

Suge Knight Has Been Released From The Hospital

by 8 mins ago

After being shot multiple times at an unffocial pre-VMA party in Los Angeles, early on Sunday morning, Suge Knight has been released from the hospital.

TMZ reports that the former Death Row Records CEO was discharged from Cedars-Sinai hospital around 6 a.m. on Wednesday after being treated for three days.

Suge was shot six times while attending a party hosted by Chris Brown at LA’s 1Oak nightclub. One bullet hit him in the arm and the other five struck him in the stomach. Two other party-goers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries after the shooting. Other attendees at the high-profile party included Russell Simmons, will.i.am and Game, who had some trouble getting his entourage inside.

Entertainment writer Ryan Downey told MTV News that when the gunshots went off, Chris Brown decided not to get down like everyone else did. “After the shots were fired and everybody hit the deck, he [Brown] jumped back on the table, throwing his arms up,” Downey said.

No suspect has been named in the shooting.

Watch Drake Splurge On Snacks For Nicki Minaj

by 10 mins ago

There are so many layers of Nicki Minaj and Drake’s friendship being exposed this month.

After seeing Nicki treat lil’ bro to a lap dance in her “Anaconda” video (and hearing her explain just how uh, excited, he got about it), now it’s time to watch Drake return the favor. Sort of. Nicki took a break from filming on the set of Usher’s “She Came To Give It To You” video to go for a snack run, and Drizzy was treating.

Booty Shaking, Butt Lifts And Body Paint: Watch Nicki Minaj’s Sexy ‘Anaconda’ VMA Performance

And, going on a snack run with Drake is exactly what you’d imagine it to be. You know, hearing him say things like: “Pick anything you want girl,” “I’m splurging today,” and “your friend want something too?”

Chivalry at its finest.

Ed Sheeran Is Learning To ‘Booty Clap’ For His ‘Thinking Out Loud’ Video

by 14 mins ago

On Sunday night, Ed Sheeran won Best Male Video for “Sing” at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, although he’s pretty sure that it isn’t one of his best visuals to date. No worries though, because he’s learning some new tricks for an upcoming video. And by “some tricks,” I mean that he’s learning to booty clap.

Shortly before he accepted the moonman for “Sing,” Ed strolled the VMA red carpet with video director Emil Nava, and explained why he was a bit surprised to receive that nomination.

“We actually we had about 15 different plans for it originally, and the last idea was an amalgamation of all of them,” he told MTV News. “We’ve made around seven or eight videos together and it’s a good video, but I wouldn’t say it’s one of our best.”

So what’s in store next? He’s already banked a video for “Don’t” and then he’s got something special in store for “Thinking Out Loud.”

“I’m learning how to booty clap,” Ed revealed, admitting he still has a lot of work to do. “[So far] I can squat and that’s about it.”

His director sounded pretty sure that he could figure out the rest though. “He’s got a dancer going on tour with him everyday, teaching him how to booty clap.”

Beyonce’s 2014 VMA Performance: Fearless, Feminist, Flawless, Family Time

by 34 mins ago

There was no better option for a closing performance at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards than the queen herself, Beyoncé. On Sunday night (August 25), she took viewers on an emotional journey with a well-orchestrated medley from her recent, self-titled album, that ended with tears as she accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award from her husband Jay Z.

What more could we have asked for?

Bey’s set began on a very emotional note, with the cameras zoomed in tightly on her face, as she sang “Mine” surrounded by dancers with porcelain skin, and slowly transitioned into “Haunted.” Her first few songs were the most soul-baring of the night, as she continued with “No Angel” and “Jealous,” emphasizing the weight of all those lyrics. And while those emotions came pouring out, the dancers around her went through several outfit changes, to fit the mood of each track.

By the time Bey got to “Blow,” things started to heat up. For this number, she and her dancers lined up cabaret style, with the word “Cherry” lit up behind her in neon letters (you know, “turn that cherry out”) and she really began to put her hips into it. With the lights hitting that bedazzled fitted bodysuit, it was nothing short of mesmerizing.

And, of course, when “Drunk in Love” came on the crowd really started to lose their composure. Bey was posted up on a set of steps, surrounded by dancers who were in headstands around her, ...

A New Eminem Album Called Shady XV Is Coming This Year

by 30 mins ago

Shady isn’t wasting any time. Last year Eminem dropped his sequel album The Marshall Mathers LP 2, and it seems like a new project called Shady XV will arrive later this year — possibly in November.

After wearing a t-shirt branded with Shady XV during the final stop of The Monster Tour at Detroit’s Comerica Park on Saturday, an image with the title and “Black Friday” was also posted on his site and removed, according to Rap-Up. No word on whether this is a brand new solo project, or a compilation album.

A trailer for the upcoming movie “The Equalizer” features a snippet of the album’s first single featuring Sia, called “Guts Over Fear,” and fans will also be able to hear it during the VMAs. The full song is expected to debuted on iTunes on Sunday as well, which means that Shady really has a big night ahead of him. He’s nominated for seven awards at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, which kick off at 9 p.m. EST on Sunday night.

2014 marks 15 years since Eminem dropped The Slim Shady LP in 1999.

Iggy Azalea Has Words For Ariana Grande: ‘I Hope You Win, But I Hope I Win More’

by 22 mins ago

It ain’t easy being a VMA nominee, especially when you’re up against your brother’s favorite artist of all time and also up against one of your good friends. In this case, we’re talking about Iggy Azalea.

The “Fancy” rapper is tied with Eminem for seven nominations at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards and she and Ariana Grande will also battle it out in a couple of categories, including Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.

“I never thought that I would be facing off with Eminem for most award nominations, but it’s pretty cool because Eminem is my young brother’s absolute favorite artist in the world, so I think he feels very conflicted as to who to vote for — his own flesh and blood, or his favorite artist,” Iggy told MTV News, being sympathetic and adding, “He’s in a tough position.”

As for Ariana, well, may the best woman take home those Moonmen. “I hope you win Ariana but I hope I win more — you understand,” Iggy said laughing. Watch Iggy dish on her competition in the video above.
