Twisty Stabs Again In This ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ Episode 2 Preview

by 5 mins ago

The people have spoken, and “American Horror Story: Freak Show“‘s Twisty is the talk of the town. The kids just can’t get enough of ol’ Twisty!

Luckily, this preview for next Wednesday’s episode “Massacres and Matinees” lets us know straight away that John Caroll Lynch’s stabby clown isn’t going away anytime soon. In fact, it looks like Frances Conroy’s character Gloria Mott will try to hire him to please her petulant son Dandy (Finn Wittrock), which will surely be a spectacular performance to behold.

Meanwhile, Angela Bassett’s three-breasted woman and Michael Chiklis’ strong man finally arrive, which should add even more flavor to the already colorful “Freak Show.” Check out the preview below!

There’s Finally A Reason To Get Excited For ‘Ghostbusters 3′

by 22 mins ago

Fans of funny women, funny comedy, funny women in comedy, ghosts and slime should rejoice, because that female-centric “Ghostbusters” reboot is officially happening:

Woo-hoo!

In case you were wondering, yes, that Tweet came directly from the account of Paul Feig, who famously directed “Bridesmaides” and “The Heat.” He also helped launch Melissa McCarthy into mainstream stardom, and we’d be willing to bet that ridiculously expensive dress Maya Rudolph tried on that McCarthy will be part of this new class of ‘Busters. (For the record, Bill Murray has already approved that choice.)

“The Heat” and “Parks and Recreation” writer Katie Dippold will pen the script, adding to our hope that Amy Poehler and/or Sandra Bullock might turn up in this long-awaited project as well.

Now excuse us as we refresh Fandango.com until we can officially see this movie.

The 17 Best Flashback Wigs On TV

by 12 mins ago

Oh, the unflinchingly cruel passage of time.

Actually, scratch that — it should be, “oh, the unflinchingly cruel passage of time that can only be adequately expressed on television by the presence of ridiculous flashback hair.”

From “Lost” to “Scandal” to every single vampire drama there is, the flashback scene has become a crucial storytelling element on many of our favorite shows. This frequently means you have to alter a character’s look to convey the passage of time to the audience, and for some — mostly male — characters, that can only really be done with wigs, since it’s quite difficult to make characters look younger onscreen. (Also, for vampire shows, the wigs can be used to immediately identify a certain time period.)

There have been numerous flashback hairpieces in this here golden television age, but these 17 are the best (meaning worst) offenders:

17. Jack Porter, “Revenge”

The only thing Emily should be getting revenge on is her childhood boyfriend’s flashback wig.

16. Klaus Mikaelson, “The Vampire Diaries”/”The Originals”

Vampires with awful hair are a recurring theme on this list. Klaus’ isn’t the worst of the bunch, but it’s certainly hilarious every time it pops up.

15. Boone, “Lost”

Ian Somerhalder managed to escape the bad vampire hair curse on “The Vampire Diaries” — both Damon and Stefan Salvatore have remained impeccably coiffed throughout their 150-ish year existence — but he was not so lucky when it came to “Lost.” In more ways than one.

14. Robin ...

Will Gwyneth Paltrow Be On ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’?

by 11 mins ago

American Horror Story” has quickly become a safe place for A-List actors who want to dip their feet into TV without fully committing, for a number of reasons. From Oscar winners in lead roles (Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates) to superstar musicians rocking cameos (Adam Levine, Stevie Nicks), creator Ryan Murphy has produced one of the small screen’s most enviable casts year after year, and “Freak Show” is proving to be no different (hello, Matt Bomer and Patti LaBelle).

However, this “Freak Show” frenzy must occasionally get difficult for Murphy, since all of his famous friends (he has many) are probably chomping at the bit for a role on the show. One such friend is officially Gwyneth Paltrow, who People confirmed has already told Murphy she wouldn’t mind sharing the small screen with Twisty and co.

“She would love to be on this show,” Murphy said, when asked if he’d ever cast Paltrow during Sunday’s Los Angeles premiere. “We’ll see.”

We’ll see? We’ll see?! We need our Freaky Gwyneth, and we need her now. So while we wait for Murphy to inevitably make up a role for the GOOP creator, we’ve imagined what “AHS” would look like with just a little more Paltrow:

‘American Horror Story’ Is Getting An O.J. Simpson Spin-Off

by 36 mins ago

Everybody from “The Walking Dead” to “The Vampire Diaries” to “Breaking Bad” has recently embraced the delicate art of the spin-off, so we really shouldn’t be too surprised to learn that FX’s behemoth “American Horror Story” franchise is next on the list. But we are. Oh sweet goodness, we are.

Deadline reports that “AHS” creator Ryan Murphy’s next passion project will be another “American” anthology series, but this time around, it’s all about true crime — and it’s only fitting that the first season of “American Crime Story” will focus on one of the most famous cases in our nation’s recent history: The People Vs. O.J. Simpson.

Murphy’s take on the O.J. trial will be based on the book “The Run of His Life: The People V. O.J. Simpson” by Jeffrey Toobin, and both Murphy and his “AHS” co-creator Brad Falchuk are officially set to produce.

“This is an exciting project for me, as I’ve been looking for the right property which could serve as an extension of the ‘American Horror Story’ brand I love so much,” Murphy, who will tell the story from the perspective of the lawyers, told Deadline. “The O.J. case was as tragic as it was fascinating — it seemed like everyone had a stake in the outcome. It was really the beginning of the modern tabloid age.”

Of course, every season of “ACS” will feature a different crime, and “People Vs. O.J.” will also include the Murphy staple of tackling social injustice as ...

‘The Originals’: Joseph Morgan Explains Why Klaus Doesn’t Need A Love Interest

by 33 mins ago

As anyone reading this probably already knows, when it comes to “The Originals” (and the show that spawned it, “The Vampire Diaries“) it’s all about the shipping. Between the original series’ Delena/Stelana rivalry to the newcomer’s Haylijah/Klayley bash and the ever-present Klaroline crossover hopefuls, it’s like the Wild Wild West out there in shipper-land.

However, according to Klaus himself, Joseph Morgan, when “The Originals” returns for its second season on Monday (October 6) he shouldn’t necessarily be looking to settle down with anyone — because the ancient vampire still hasn’t acquired the tools he needs to master his OTP.

“He’s very jealous,” Morgan told MTV News over the phone. “He’s not desiring a love interest specifically, but he wants to be the center of attention. That’s why he hates when Elijah and Rebekah are conspiring, and he hates if Elijah and Hayley are together, because that’s Elijah playing surrogate father to his child. Even though he doesn’t want to be there, he doesn’t want Elijah to be there [either]. He wants everybody to be focused on him, but he lacks the emotional tools to form healthy relationships with any of these people, so they’re drawn to each other instead.”

Morgan also said that Klaus has “the nature of a loner” and that he manages to destroy every relationship he’s ever had, which is why, during the premiere, we’ll see a Klaus that is barely even speaking to his brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and his baby’s ...

Amanda Bynes Is Reportedly Engaged

by 3 mins ago

After months of quiet and what outwardly appeared to be some stasis, Amanda Bynes’ erratic behavior is happening again. The former child star was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles on September 28, and now the actress has told In Touch that she is engaged.

“I am very needy for friendship and I hate men,” Bynes, who is currently in New York City, told the mag on Sunday. “I want to f— them, but I can now say I’m engaged — get away from me. I want to be married and I want to be away from people.”

Bynes, who was under her parents’ legal conservatorship for several months in 2013, will reportedly wed a 19-year-old named Caleb from Costa Mesa, California. She told In Touch that the couple hopes to settle down in New York instead of her native Southern California, because “I really do not enjoy driving. I don’t like the way I look in a car. The lighting is very bad.”

The former actress, who until recently was studying fashion design at L.A.’s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, also said she wants to have children.

“I want boys, for sure,” she said. “However many I can pop out. I don’t want a gorgeous girl around. Then I [would] feel way jealous. Ew.”

No word on when the nuptials might be, though she did say that they would take place at the London hotel in Los Angeles.

“I honestly would rather not [design my dress], but I’m so particular ...

The Snow Queen Visits ‘Once Upon A Time’: First Look Pics At The New Villain

by 19 mins ago

We’ve known since May that Elsa, Anna, and the rest of the “Frozen” gang (sans Olaf) would be headed to Storybrooke for season four of “Once Upon a Time,” but the October 5 episode revealed that there was another, even chillier ice witch in town — Elizabeth Mitchell (“Lost”) joined the cast as the Snow Queen, the eponymous villain in Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairy tale.

Who this version of the Snow Queen is and what she wants are yet to be revealed, but Entertainment Weekly revealed some first look pics at that other local snow queen, whom ABC says will attempt to frame Elsa by freezing Maid Marian. (Why she would be evil enough to do this is mind-boggling — the woman has an endless supply of free ice cream!)

Check out the picture below, and let us know your theories about the Snow Queen’s motives in the comments!
