Cam’ron Emojis Are Coming To A Phone Near You

by 8 mins ago

If you’re anything like me, then you’ve been using Lil B’s emoji app, BasedMoji, since it dropped last month. It’s a good bet to liven up any text convo, and there’s an option for — well, not quite every occasion, but some.

Now, more MCs are getting in the game.

You’ll be able to add to your rapper emoji collection next month, when Cam’ron releases his own set of emojis. He posted a few previews on his Instagram, including the classic “U Mad” meme from his appearance on “The O’Reilly Factor” a decade ago.

“#Umad CamEmojis nx month,” he wrote.

On another, he shouted out user @coleshneider for “makin’ it happen.” On her page, she posted another image, and explained that it seems Killa won’t be getting his own app, but instead, they’ll be available through Hi-Art.

“I know y’all been waiting on it. @mr_camron emojis available early November on the @hiartapp. #KillaCamEmojis,” she posted.

Cam actually first dropped some info about his emojis over the summer, with a post that suggested — thankfully — that there might be one of him wearing pink fur.

“Just finish meeting with @coleshneider .. She executed a emoji deal for me.. Now we are going over ideas.. KeepCalm #IKnowEmojisArentThisBig #JustBrainStorming #SheDontEvenNeedDaMoney #SheSaidICanHaveHerPercentage Thx #myCaucasian ..Coming this fall..”

We’re just weeks away from your text game improving exponentially. Brace yourself.

Never Fear, ‘Gotham’: Heroes Are On The Way

by 10 mins ago

Things look pretty grim for “Gotham,” even in its early days. Villains are gathering, the mobs are warring and even the city’s one good cop, future Commissioner James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is having trouble staying on the side of angels.

But don’t worry, Gothamites: heroes are on their way.

That’s what MTV News found out when we caught up with the cast of FOX’s hit show at New York Comic-Con. With so much focus on the villains – and they’re great ones, from Penguin, to Catwoman, to the upcoming serial killer Zsasz – what about the heroes? Sure, we’ve got Gordon, but the young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) won’t be Batman for another, say, 12 seasons or so.

“There’s no choice for people but to take law into their own hands when you can’t trust the law,” executive producer Danny Cannon said. “When the lunatics start to run the asylum, the strongest lunatic will win.”

To find out what McKenzie, as well as stars Donal Logue, Robin Lord Taylor and Erin Richards have to reveal about the upcoming influx of vigilantes, watch above.

How Not To Be The Worst Person At A Concert

by 1 min ago

Art by Julia Panek

Going to concerts is big fun! Fun that will commence right about now in New York City at the 2014 CMJ Music Marathon. A weeklong music fest such as this means a few things: 1.) Tons of music (duh), 2.) Long nights (Mm-hmmm), 3.) Copious opportunities to act like a pain in A to the double S while partaking in all that music during those long nights.

Yup, show etiquette is a lost art — or at least one that might require a brush-up in most music lovers’ books — which is why MTV has a complied a handy concert manners guide below. Whip it out if you’re hitting up CMJ in NYC this week, or if you’re a living, breathing person who sometimes sees live music and doesn’t want to be a pariah.

See ya in the pit!

1. Don’t Film The Entire Show With Your Smartphone

You’ve Seen 2 Chainz Try The Most Expensive Sh–, Now Here’s The Brokest

by 25 mins ago

With reporting by Rob Markman

2 Chainz has lavish taste, but recently, he’s taken things to a whole different level.

With GQ, he’s been trying the “Most Expensive Sh–” around — including a burger with gold on it, a $2 million car and $30,000 headphones.

But what’s the “Most Brokest Sh–” he’s ever done? MTV News decided we had to ask — and it turned out he had thought about that very question recently.

“I pulled out the whip and dropped the top, I’m just feeling myself,” the rapper said during last week’s Def Jam 30th anniversary concert in New York (this wasn’t the broke part). “I go over to my homie’s house — his mom’s house — they don’t even know I’m coming. So, I go in the crib, they’re like, ‘Oh, let me get my hair together! Let’s take pictures.’ The offered me dinner, I said yes.”

They all ate together and enjoyed what sounded like a wonderful, hearty home-cooked meal. Which made them think back to when that wasn’t always the case.

“They said, ‘Yo, Tit, do you remember when you used to eat bread and Kool-Aid all the time?’” he continued. “It was one of them moments where I had to reflect on how I had the big glass of the sugar Kool-Aid, and I had the bread on top, and that would be my holder. And I’d take the bread off, dip it in the Kool-Aid, eat it. But it was almost because we wasn’t eating ...

T.I. Again Shows His Two Sides On Paperwork

by 1 min ago

It feels like it wasn’t all that long ago when a skinny Atlanta kid with attitude started to burn up the airwaves with early-career favorites like “Rubberband Man” and “Let’s Get Away.” But that was over a decade ago, and now T.I. is a seasoned vet who has entered a rare class of consistency and longevity, with his ninth album, Paperwork, out on Tuesday.

Over that span, he’s grown to become one of rap’s most well-rounded artists — mature without losing his sense of where he’s from, honest to his own experiences without sacrificing being relatable — which he proves again on Paperwork.

The release is not his most cohesive — the subjects and sounds of the songs can at times feel disjointed when placed next to each other in the way that they are in the album’s sequencing. But taken alone and then compared side-by-side, the tracks demonstrate the ways in which Tip has bucked the easy route of creating a musical caricature to instead paint the fullness of a man.

Really, though, he has no other choice. We’ve seen T.I.’s life play out in public in a way unrivaled by maybe any other rapper during this era. And not in the This Is What Kanye West Was Wearing At LAX paparazzi kind of way. Instead, we’ve seen him open up about his family life on his VH1 reality show, “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle.” On the other side, we’ve seen his trials and tribulations — arrests, court ...

Taylor Swift Calls Her Haters ‘Sexist’

by 23 mins ago

As Taylor Swift shares more and more lyrics and singles from her upcoming record, 1989, there’s probably going to be tons more speculating as to who those songs are about. (coughHarryStylescough)

But before the haters can start wagging their tongues about Swift’s predilection for taking exes to task through song, the “Out Of The Woods” singer has something to say: Guys, you’re being more than a little sexist.

“I think frankly that’s a very sexist angle to take,” Swift said in a recent interview with regard to how she’s sometimes criticized for writing about past lovers. “No one says that about Ed Sheeran. No one says that about Bruno Mars. They’re all writing songs about their exes, their current girlfriends, their love life and no one raises a red flag there.”

The interview — which appeared on Australia’s “Jules, Merrick & Sophie” radio show — basically echoes what Swift says in “Shake It Off”: “I go on too many dates/ But I can’t make ‘em stay/ At least that’s what people say, mmm-mmm.” And, well, you know how the chorus goes.

Swift opined that she won’t be dropping her love life from her music any time soon, as her use of her real life as musical fodder is about artistic integrity more than anything else. That’s how she’s always written songs — even before she was famous.

“The most important thing for me is maintaining artistic integrity, which means as a songwriter I still continue to write about ...

FKA Twigs Makes Google Glass Look Cool In New Video

by 44 mins ago

So FKA twigs has done the near-impossible: She has managed to make Google Glass look cool. I know. I didn’t think it was possible, either.

The “Video Girl” singer put out a brief video titled “#ThroughGlass” Monday (October 20), melding technology and dance as she performed moves and choreography she’s looked up using Glass. She also directed the piece and shot parts of it via Glass.

A glitchy — although lovely — little piece of film, the video features a new version of “Video Girl,” off of her debut record LP1, as well as “Glass & Patron.”

Check it out — and envy twigs’ ability to pull off wearable software — below:

Niall Horan Asks Jessie J To Marry Him

by 27 mins ago

Jessie J managed to bang bang her way into a very eligible bachelor’s heart Sunday night when she took the stage on “X Factor” to perform her hit — sans Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. That single dude’s name? Niall Horan. And get this — he proposed marriage. Cue the inevitable flood of Directioner tears.

Keeping it simple, Niall was clear as a beam of heavenly sunlight with his intentions, tweeting the below to Jessie as she pranced around the “X Factor” stage dressed in a netted bodysuit:

Don’t worry, though, 1D fans: The “Price Tag” singer has yet to answer Niall’s query — or request, rather. There’s no question mark in that tweet.

I feel like there’s a joke about stealing his girl in here, but that might just be because I’m excited to see that music video — someday.

Did They Bring The Pants?
I’d like to think that fate had a hand in what happened that Saturday when Blake Lively reunited with Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn to watch their “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” co-star America Ferrera perform at her Off-Broadway show “Lips Together, Teeth Apart.”

I Would Have Crowned Him Lord Too
Jason Momoa’s “Game Of Thrones” audition tape surfaced and apparently, he danced. It wasn’t the hokey pokey that scored him the role as the Dothraki lord, but an intense dance called the haka that’s native to his Hawaiian roots.

‘The Walking Dead’: All The Tastiest Moments On ‘Strangers’

by 13 mins ago

Our favorite zombie apocalypse survivors on “The Walking Dead” may have made it out of the cannibal enclave known as “Terminus” alive – and for the first time in nearly a year are all in the same place, at the same time – but that doesn’t mean anywhere is ever, truly safe.

Here’s all the biggest, most jaw-dropping moments on “Strangers:”

What About Bob?

Sonequa Martin-Green as SashaGene Page/AMC

Let’s skip to the end and ask the biggest question(s): what’s up with Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.)? He spends most of the episode happier than a non-central Disney cartoon character, kissing his girlfriend Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and joking around with everyone.

Then he gets sucked underwater by a bloated, gross walker, and like some sort of reverse baptism ends up dark, disturbed and removed. At first we thought he was bitten – something that was only affirmed when Bob wandered out of an otherwise happy gathering, kissed Sasha goodbye and ended up crying in front of a tree.

Then he gets knocked out, the tree turns out to have another of those strange markings we glimpsed during the post-credits Morgan scene on “No Sanctuary,” and… Well, then something else happens to Bob. We’ll get to that in a moment.

“A Man’s Got To Eat”
BRB, vomiting forever. Gareth (Andrew J. West) and his now comic-book appropriately named group of Hunters are back, and they’ve captured Bob Stookey. Explaining that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group took away ...
