Bono’s Response To That Whole Free Album Thing? ‘Oops’

by 6 mins ago

Remember when U2 gave us all their new album, Songs of Innocence, for free via iTunes? Remember how some people got a little PO’d that it had automatically popped up in their music libraries? Well, that all came to a head this week when Bono officially apologized for… giving people music for free. The horror.

In a Q&A posted to Facebook, a fan asked Bono, point-blank: “Can you please never release an album on iTunes that automatically downloads to people’s playlists ever again? It’s really rude.”

Bono, rather sheepishly, responded, “Oops. I’m sorry about that. I had this beautiful idea — might have gotten carried away with ourselves. Artists are prone to that kind of thing. A drop of megalomania, a touch of generosity, a dash of self-promotion, and deep fear that these songs that we poured our life into over the last few years might not be heard. There’s a lot of noise out there. I guess, we got a little noisy ourselves to get through it.”

U2 made history when the band made a special appearance during Apple’s latest product launch and gave away their record for free via Apple’s music services: iTunes, iTunes Radio and Beats.

The album reached 500-million people, 26 million of which downloaded it to their devices. Some users were displeased with the record’s existence on their phones, however, and Apple set up a dedicated site that allowed people ...

Wiz And Future’s New Song Is So Explicit They Needed An Emoji For The Cover Art

by 12 mins ago

Wiz Khalifa and Future have each been involved in splits from their significant others in recent months. And their new collaboration with Mike Will Made It sure sounds like they’re not thrilled with a female in their lives.

But “P—y Overrated” comes off less about their women — Amber Rose and Ciara, respectively — than the kind of antics that may have gotten them each in trouble. Oh, and that cover art is just priceless.

overrated

“Why you keep asking when you can hit the weed when you know you should have on already rolled?/ And why every time I get done doing my thing I gotta see you backstage at my show?” Wiz wonders, sounding like he’s adressing an attached groupie, and not his soon to be ex-wife.

“After you strip naked, you’re supposed to f–k me like a star, girl you know you’re faking,” Future sings on the hook.

The track will be featured on Mike Will’s upcoming Ransom mixtape.

Snoop Dogg And Iggy Azalea’s Online Battle Continues

by 1 min ago

Snoop Dogg is a jokester. Anyone who has watched him throughout his career, seen his interviews, caught his “GGN” web series, or paid attention to his Instagram knows this. But that doesn’t mean that the butt of his jokes always thinks his antics are particularly funny.

And that’s exactly what’s going on this week, as Iggy Azalea is none too please with Tha Doggfather’s calling her out on social media.

Snoop often takes memes and posts them on his Instagram account. Here’s one he uploaded on Sunday.

The Australian rapper responded in some since-deleted tweets:

“@SnoopDogg why would you post such a mean pic on insta when you send your body guards to ask me for pictures every time we are at shows together?,” she wrote. “My bodyguard stopped the fire truck that saved your friends life in canada when he almost burnt down the hotel. and every time I’ve ever spoken to you you’ve always been nice as hell, I’m disappointed you’d be such an ass for no reason.”

Snoop caught wind of her reaction, but didn’t seem too concerned. Monday night, he posted the following photo, along with the caption, “This is news to me. I wish a bitch would !! Hahahahahahahah.”

Early Tuesday (October 14), Iggy responded to the media’s response of her response to Snoop’s initial post.

It looked like this intense online war had settled, but Tuesday afternoon, the Los Angeles rapper was back at it, with three more pictures.

“So says Todd cool out lil sis he ...

These 4 Tracks From Blood Moon: Year Of The Wolf Prove That Game Is Still West Coast Royalty

by 57 mins ago

Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf has been described as a compilation album from Game and his Blood Money Entertainment imprint. But fans who have simply been itching for a new Game album since his 2012 Jesus Piece will be pleased.

The disc, which dropped on Tuesday (October 14), is 15 tracks of the Los Angeles rapper delivering the kind of hard-hitting yet catchy rhymes he’s made a career of. To be clear, he brings along plenty of guests — Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Jeezy, Tyga, Ty Dolla $ign, T.I. and plenty more appear on the album — but there’s also a healthy dose of Jayceon here.

As he prepares to release his upcoming album The Documentary 2, which is set to drop in January, on the 10-year anniversary of his debut opus, Game reminds why he’s West Coast Royalty on his latest. Here are four tracks to check out.

1. “Bigger Than Me”

Released as the lead single to Blood Moon: Year of the Wold, this is Game doing what he’s done time and again throughout his career: Taking no B.S.

The album’s opening track, it’s a fitting introduction. More than anything, it’s a reminder — of the Compton native’s past successes, approach to making music, and fearless attitude. “These n—as ain’t bigger than me,” he repeats often (which, given the albums and singles on his resume, is probably true about most rappers), adding, “N—as talking that shit ’bout the new generation, man/ Fuck these niggas, I’ll slash your fucking faces.”

We Knew Amber Rose Was Single, But This Picture Proves It

by 11 mins ago

As we know, Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose are dealing with their impending divorce differently. And it looks like Amber now has a new approach: Teasing us.

On Monday (October 13), the model posted a sexy picture on Instagram with a caption that suggests she’s getting closer to being ready to once again play the field.

“Single but not quite mingling….. Yet. Thx for the beautiful pic @brendanforbes @officiallyryanbanthony,” she wrote.

It feels like there’s some promise in that caption — like she can see herself getting back out there before long. And if that’s the case, it’s a positive turn of events from just a week ago, when she tweeted about her continued struggles dealing with the split from the rapper.

Wiz, meanwhile, died his hair purple and has been hanging out with his dog.

Kid Ink, Usher And Tinashe Take You Behind-The-Scenes Of ‘Body Language’ Video

by 1 min ago

There’s no slowing down for Kid Ink.

The Los Angeles native released his debut album, My Own Lane, earlier this year, and he’s already back in the studio at work on the follow up. Last month, he released “Body Language,” the lead single to that sophomore project — which follows up the two-times platinum “Show Me” and gold-certified “Main Chick” from his first disc — and it’s showing signs of similar success, already sitting as the #22 record on Rhythmic radio.

In these exclusive behind-the-scenes photos of the upcoming video, Ink is joined by Usher and Tinashe — both of whom are featured on the song — for what looks to be a pretty sexy visual. The clip, shot in Atlanta, was directed by Darren Craig, who has also directed videos for Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Ke$ha and more.

Look out for the “Body Language” video to drop later this month.

Here’s Proof That Suge Knight Is A Kid At Heart

by 1 min ago

Sure, Suge Knight is a rap mogul and former NFL player, but in some ways, he’s just like you.

The proof? The Death Row Records founder stopped by Disneyland over the weekend to soak up some fun in the sun. He even rocked a Disneyland t-shirt with Mickey Mouse on the chest (in red, of course), because he must have been feeling particularly festive.

EXCLUSIVE: Suge Knight wears a red Disneyland T-shirt at DisneylandSplash News

In less upbeat Suge Knight news, a suspect has been identified in an incident from August where the Los Angeles native was shot multiple times, according to TMZ. However, they’re still looking to gather enough evidence to arrest the alleged perp.

This Train Dance Party Should Be The Most Awkward Thing Ever

by 8 mins ago

What would you do if a spontaneous dance party broke out during your morning commute? Bury your face further into your book? Angrily jam down on your headphone to drown out the blaringly happy jam undulating through your train car? Or, I don’t know, join in?

That’s what Peter Sharp set out to discover in the newest video from the Australian social performance artist. Sharp starts out the video by standing up on a crowded train, dressed in a snazzy suit. When he begins speaking, you can almost feel the physical discomfort of the other passengers (people talking loudly on trains never results in anything good), until you hear what he’s saying, “I don’t want money, I just want to spread a bit of happiness.”

The above statement still sounds a little suspect, until Sharp begins dancing and the rest of the passengers — miraculously — begin dancing and clapping (slightly off-beat), too.

According to Mashable, Sharp’s whole MO is bringing joy to unlikely places — in unlikely situations. He started his whole mission in Spain, hitchhiking from Barcelona to Croatia in a business suit, busting out dance parties along the way.

Perhaps your subway car is next?
