Watch This Little Boy Serves Up The ‘Bad Romance’ Dance With Fearless Abandon

by 2 hours ago

Remember being a kid and feeling the freedom to do whatever the hell you wanted? Back before anyone told you it was uncool or stupid to just clamber up on a stage and passionately dance to your favorite song?

You know, the time before society had told you that popstars make patently “girl”-centric music, or before you’d ever heard anyone make fun of someone else for dancing on their own?

Well this little kid is still living in those moments of freedom. His passionate, epic dancing to Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” reminds all of us to be bold and celebrate what we love with fearless devotion. And he flawlessly nails the spirit of the original dance’s choreography.

If only we could all stay this carefree. This kid is the best Little Monster of them all.

Good Luck Sleeping After Watching This ‘American Horror Story: Freakshow’ Teaser

by 3 mins ago

Those of you out there looking to add a little bit of unsettling spook to your Sunday will surely find that in spades in the creeptastic new teaser for FX’s “American Horror Story: Freakshow.” The latest installment of the Ryan Murphypalooza is short but not so much that it cuts out the terror.

A fallen angel. A sad, old-timey, Sepia-tinged setting. And, of course, a terrifying clown pulling the strings — or, in this case, slapdash-looking levers — behind the scenes.

Hello nightmares, thy name is this.

Honestly we were half-expecting a children’s choir to whisper-sing Radiohead’s “Creep” in the background (which, thank goodness they weren’t or else we might never go to bed ever again).

Ryan Murphy, we are more than a little bit terrified of your mind, dude.

Too much exuberance for one person. Follow her on Twitter @alicialutes.

15 GIFs That Prove Christopher Walken Will Be A Great Captain Hook

by 23 mins ago

Christopher Walken, lest you forget, is a goddamn legend. He’s a hero of weirdos and the delightfully strange alike. And on Sunday NBC announced that he would helm the role of Captain Hook in their live broadcast of “Peter Pan,” which may be the best casting decision a network has ever made. (Not that we’re being hyperbolic or anything!)

“He might be the first tap-dancing Hook you’ve ever seen,” NBC chief Bob Greenblatt told TV critics at the Television Critics Association Summer Press tour NBC panel event on Sunday morning, no doubt to the glee and euphoric glow of everyone in attendance. Because — hoo boy — do we ever want to see THAT. Who better to play the baddest baddie in all the land than the weapon of choice himself, eh?

Now, for those of you who somehow grew up without any knowledge of Peter Pan — and if you did what sort of childhood did you have, no judgement but jeez? — it tells the story of a fun-loving and spritely young lad with a penchant for flying and a determination not to grow up. Captain Hook is his arch nemesis, a pirate captain on the good ship Jolly Rodger who was left sans-hand after a fight with Peter resulted in it being cut off — hence the moniker “Hook.” A nearby crocodile nabbed his hand, and now pursues the Captain in hope of finishing the meal. Lucky for Hook he always gets a head ...

What The End Of ‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’ Tells Us About ‘Apes 3′

by 4 mins ago

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes” isn’t a movie, it’s a chapter. It’s an excellent, well made chapter, but it’s only a small part of the saga begun in “Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.” And while this chapter is closed for now, the ending of “Dawn” poses several huge questions about the franchise.

Here’s everything we need know about “Apes 3,” given where we left off in “Dawn:”

1. Is The Army Really Coming?

dawn-of-the-planet-of-the-apes-5

Everything we know about the Simian Flu in “Dawn” tells us that the population of Earth has been more than decimated. There’s clearly strongholds of immunity, as glimpsed in San Francisco, but are there really enough people in the United States Army to come mount a rescue of the remaining Bay City humans?

And even if they are, why are they coming? What do they want? Are they looking to bring the smack down on the Apes, or offer a peace treaty? Plus, perhaps there aren’t even that many of them left.

Point is, despite Guy At Communication Station #2′s assertion that the Army is coming, we don’t know exactly what that means.

2. Is Koba Dead?

dawn-of-the-planet-of-the-apes-koba

You wouldn’t think he could survive getting dropped hundreds of feet under construction equipment, but the apes seem to be way sturdier than the humans. It would certainly undercut the emotional wallop of that ending, but we could see a world where Koba managed to survive. Particularly as Koba’s view of the world definitely fits ...

Jay Electronica Brought Out Jay Z At The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival

by 35 mins ago

When the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival gave Jay Electronica an hour long set, fans were thinking one thing: who will he bring out? And the New Orelans rapper delivered, bringing out Mac Miller early in his set for “Suplexes Inside of Complexes and Duplexes.”

Then, he upped the ante by bringing out J.Cole and Talib Kweli for Reflection Eternal’s collaborative song “Just Begun” off 2010′s Revolutions per Minute.

But, what everyone was really counting on was a Jay Z appearance. The Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival was celebrating its 10th anniversary, and there’s no one who represents those two things better than Jay Electronica’s Roc Nation boss Jay Z. Since HOV was already in town for his “On The Run” tour with Beyonce later that night, he managed to stop by Jay Elect’s set and perform a few classic hits.

When Jay Z hit the stage, they kicked off with “Young, Gifted, & Black,” and transitioned into “We Made It (Freestyle),” and followed that up with and “Shiny Suit Theory” and “Public Service Announcement.” Before he left, Jay Z shouted out Brooklyn saying “Peace and love Brooklyn New York City! It feels good to be home!” and gave Jay Electronica his Five-Percent Nation chain.

Selena Gomez Slams Fan For Bullying In Instagram Comment

by 49 mins ago

Selena Gomez is mostly known for being sweet. Hey, even her character in “Spring Breakers” was the one that got too scared of the Florida underground and went home. But she was pushed a little too far by a comment on her Instagram.

Although the original comment has been deleted along with the user’s account, it clearly had something to do with cancer—and it crossed a line for Selena. The singer took a screenshot of what she wrote to the user, and posted that as a separate Instagram photo.

Selena captioned the photo with the following: “Honestly, I don’t speak up much because it’s simply *always* taken out of context. But I don’t take bullying well. I have seen too much to not say anything.” Especially in the realm of her relationship with Justin Bieber, Selena’s smallest moves are scrutinized.

But standing up for herself and for others battling cancer definitely seemed like the right move in this case.

She wrote that the user’s comments about cancer was “absurd” and explained that it really hit home for her as she’s gone through that struggle before with her friends and fans. But ever classy, she ended the note by urging the commenter to educate herself more about the issue and be better. She ended on a positive note writing “you’re beautiful.”

Anyone who comments on an artist’s Instagram at all knows just how dark the internet can become. ...
