Model/recording artist Amber Rose just scored a recurring role in the upcoming sitcom “Selfie” as a character named Fit Brit and starts shooting in August. The show is slated to premiere in the fall.

What Shia LaBeouf Is Really Up To
Shia LaBeouf is not in rehab, but instead he’s reportedly started a 12-step program to treat alcohol addiction. This comes on the heels of his arrest last week for being “disruptive” at the Broadway show “Cabaret.” He was charged for trespassing, disorderly conduct and harassment in the incident.

Films Bring People Together…Again
Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson have been cast in a yet-to-be-filmed Western called “By Way Of Helen” set in the 1880s. While their characters in “Mockingjay” never had a scene together, it sounds like they’ll have more face time in this upcoming movie. Hemsworth will take the reins as a Texas Ranger who investigates a series of mysterious murders while Harrelson will invoke fear as the preacher who rules their middle-of-nowhere frontier town.

Snoop Dogg is a star, and not just because he’s one of the greatest rappers ever. Dude is hilarious, and knows how to turn it on when the camera starts to roll. We’ve seen it on everything from “Doggy Fizzle Televizzle” over a decade ago, all the way up to his current “GGN” show. And on Tuesday (July 1), we got another taste.

In a segment called “Plizzanet Earth with Snoop Dogg,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” enlisted the Doggfather to narrate some rams going at it in the wild. Or were they billy goats? Who knows? Not Snoop, that’s for sure.

And that’s one of the many reasons that we hope this becomes a recurring segment.

G-Eazy recently told MTV News that he’s out for “ultimate world domination” with his debut album, These Things Happen, which dropped last week. And everyone knows a key to world domination of any kind, including ultimate, is to get Rick Ross on a remix. And that’s what happened on Tuesday (July 1).

“I Mean It,” one of the singles from the recently released disc, was given the Rozay treatment, as the MMG boss tacked a verse onto the Remo- and Christoph Anderson-produced beat. With gruff-voiced rhymes about his expensive lifestyle, Ricky delivers just what you’d expect.

Wrongchilde’s cover of Pat Benatar’s “Love Is A Battlefield” is the weirdest cover to ever cover — in a good way.

Wrongchilde — a new project from Kill Hannah’s Mat Devine — teamed up with Morgan Kibby (M83, White Sea) for this gloriously synth-y track/video, which sees Devine being stalked by a gang of pint-sized ninjas looking for blood. Because love, it’s a battlefield — get it?

The only thing weirder than that concept is what happens at the end of the video. Watch now, we beg of you, and check out the band’s debut record, Gold Blooded, come August.

Lil Wayne didn’t just become one of rap’s best sports-punchline-crafting MCs by guessing. The man knows his sports.

He’s appears regularly on ESPN’s “First Take,” and occasionally kicks it courtside at NBA games. So of course he has an opinion on the biggest questions of this NBA off-season, like where marquee free agents like LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony will sign.

“Honestly, I think Bron might go to Cleveland, and you might see a [Chris] Bosh or somebody like that follow him,” Tunehci told MTV News on the set of his “Krazy” video early Tuesday morning (July 1).

“I think Bron going back home,” he added, referencing both that LeBron is from Ohio, and that he began his professional career there with the Cavs. “Especially with Kyrie [Irving] signing that extension.” (Irving, currently the team’s best player, agreed to his extension in the early morning Tuesday — the same time Weezy was shooting his video…Like we said, he knows his sh–.)

As for Carmelo?

“I think everybody know Melo going to Chicago,” Wayne said in a prediction delivered with the kind of confidence we’ve grown accustomed to in his raps. “Said and done.”

Actually, hold that thought.

“Don’t mark my word on that,” he backtracked. “But I kinda think it’s said and done.”

After posting a controversial photo to Instagram in which she was kitted out like a stereotypical white male private-school student, the first black female student body president of an elite institution stepped down from her post.

In the photo, Maya Peterson — now a Lawrenceville School grad — sports a Yale hoodie and button-up and holds a hockey stick. The caption joked that she was dressed as a “Lawrenceville boi” and featured the hashtags “#romney2016,” “#confederate,” and “#peakedinhighschool.”

Peterson said she posted the snap in response to the backlash she received for her senior photo, in which she and friends posed using a “Black Power” salute. In an interview with Buzzfeed, she said the “boi” photo was a joke, but apparently some of her classmates didn’t see it that way. Neither did the school.

A few weeks later, she said, she was asked to resign from her role as student body president or face disciplinary action. According to Peterson, her resignation was just the most recent in a parade of injustices, however. As a black female lesbian, she was an anomaly in the leadership role at the New Jersey school — which first admitted black students 50 years ago — and her efforts to introduce diversity initiatives were often met with resistance and hostility.

For example, photos of Peterson smoking marijuana were allegedly sent to the dean of students, racist tweets were fabricated and attributed to her, and half-naked photos (origins unknown) of the young woman were sent to ...

Most of you were likely embryos when Nirvana filmed the video for “Smells Like Teen Spirit” back in 1991 — I, myself, was five — but I’m guessing that many of us would have leapt at the chance to be in the vid if were we of dancing (and walking) age. Sadly, the most we can do today is look at this original casting call for the production and dream of seeing Kurt and Co. live.

The only directive when it came to the iconic video’s casting was for actors to be between 18 and 25 years old and to “adapt a high school persona” (preppy, goth, punk, etc). However, the “whatever, nevermind”-esque crowd — which eventually goes wild — manages to capture the darkness and angry malaise of the song even with limited flash and resources.

Music festivals can be hectic places — what with the mud, the crowds, the not-wearing-headdresses-no-seriously-stop-doing-this. The last thing you need to worry about is losing your personal effects — you know, like your credit card. Your ish, on the other hand…

Lollapalooza is looking to make it easier for fest-goers to hold onto their valuables — and perhaps spend some dollars — by going cashless with digital wristbands, an initiative the Chicago fest plans to kick off this summer.

EDM fests have been doing it for a minute now, but Lolla is getting in on the action come August. According to AdWeek, the fest is rolling out a new program starting this week called Lolla Cashless featuring radio frequency identification (or RFID)-enabled wristbands. The bracelets will be linked to your credit card, allowing you to pay for food and drinks without potentially dropping your wallet in the mud. The bracelet is also your pass into the fest.

Now, apparently, all you have to worry about at Lolla is not accidentally appropriating anyone’s culture. Godspeed.

Just call him Captain Planet. Native Seattleite Macklemore has pitched in to help clean up the city’s extremely populated river, The Duwamish, and he’s doing so with a big ol’ billboard.

“We are Seattle,” the always hometown-proud rapper wrote on his website. “No bridge, boundaries or invisible man-made lines divide us. This is our home, our people and our community. This is our city’s only river, and I want to do my part to make sure that it’s safe for all that reside here. I stand in solidarity with community leaders and families who have organized for years to right this injustice.”

The billboard — which features Mack (maybe a little awkwardly) standing by the river — was launched by the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition (DRCC) and is intended to get the city pumped to save the river, its fishy inhabitants and those who live on its banks.

In 2001, the river was deemed a Superfund site by the EPA, a.k.a. “an uncontrolled or abandoned place where hazardous waste is located, possibly affecting local ecosystems or people.”

According to Cross Cut, the EPA has proposed a $305 million plan that would clean 20% of the waste currently polluting the river. Mack — along with the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition — is asking for more: namely for a cleanup that will protect the health of surrounding residents.

Yikes. I guess that explains why Mack is standing on the river’s bank on ...

The bench in Amsterdam on which Gus and Hazel share a tender kiss in “The Fault In Our Stars” has gone missing! A large flower pot was left there in its place for a month without anyone noticing. No one is sure who took it, but city spokesman Edwin van der Hoek said that there will be a new bench there soon.

A Dramatic New Music Video From Maroon 5
Maroon 5 dropped their music video for “Maps” in which Adam Levine rushes to the hospital to see his girlfriend pretty banged up and in critical condition. FYI the frontman also stars in the film “Begin Again” with Keira Knightley, which already premiered in New York and Los Angeles but hits theaters nationwide July 11.
