Did Justin Bieber Post Some New Music On His Instagram Last Night?

by 15 mins ago

It seems like Justin Bieber never stops working. While most of us would be relaxing and having fun on a typical Friday night, instead, it looks like Bieber was focused on perfecting dance moves to a brand new song! The singer shared two clips of himself flanked by two backup dancers breaking it down to snippets of electronic, auto-tuned pop.

Nice moves, Justin.

The singer has been branching off musically in a lot of ways lately, and from the sounds of it this new song will have some huge EDM overtones. Bieber’s rehearsal outfit is flawless too— a light grey sweatsuit with hashtags on the front legs of his sweatpants.

We’re going to take that as a subtle shout out to Twitter and all the #Beliebers. Plus, this gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “hashtag sweatpants.”

Maybe Justin will drop this new track soon and give us a huge new song of the summer.

50 Cent Really Wants To Be In A Marvel Superhero Movie

by 13 mins ago

Sounds like 50 Cent wants art to imitate life. Or movies to imitate music, at least.

That’s because Fif wants to play a “bad guy” in an upcoming Marvel superhero film, but “the kind you start to like,” he told MTV News recently, giving a bit of a description of his musical career, as well.

“Because we all have a streak of a rebel in us, so you find yourself rooting for the bad guy at some point,” he said. “The Joker was that in ‘Batman.’”

Beyond that, he wants to play himself — in “Star Wars.” “There’s so many good roles to play in ‘Star Wars,’ they can just let me walk by in the back,” he joked.

50 also spoke on his work shooting “Spy,” which stars Melissa McCarthy, Jude Law and Jason Statham, as well as his role in producing an upcoming movie on B.M.F.

Those projects are all a little ways down the line. What’s not, though, is “The Prince,” which the Queens rapper is appearing in alongside Bruce Willis, Jason Patric and John Cusack. A trailer for the film, which hits theaters on August 22, was released on Friday (June 27).

Hopefully we’ll see 50 get his wish about that bad guy role soon.

Mike Stud Gets One Step ‘Closer’ To His Dreams In New Video

by 52 mins ago

Mike Stud always knew he’d have fans — he just didn’t always think they’d be following him because of his music.

“Forget a mic, my whole life, I thought it’d be the mound,” the Rhode Island native raps in his new video, “Closer.”

He’s referencing a promising baseball career, which was derailed by an injury after his sophomore season at Duke University, where he was a pitcher. But he pivoted and found a new outlet: music, which he’s been working on for the last few years.

His latest video, directed by Jon Kilmer and James DeFina, finds Stud turning metaphor into visual, as he runs uphill amid raps about proving doubters wrong and working to reach a level of success where he can spoil his family. The song ends with a voicemail his mother left for him.

This is the title track for Stud’s upcoming album, Closer, which follows up last year’s Relief. It will be independently released on July 7.

Soul Singer Bobby Womack Dead At 70

by 8 mins ago

Soul singer Bobby Womack died on Friday (June 27) at age 70, according to Rolling Stone.

Womack released dozens of albums during his decades-long career, beginning with Fly Me To The Moon in 1968. His music became an influence for later R&B records, as well as hip-hop, and he was sampled by a number of artists, including by 50 Cent, Wu-Tang Clan, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Big K.R.I.T., and Mariah Carey. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.

Rick Ross was supposed to work with him for his most recent album, March’s Mastermind, but the collaboration was never released.

“I actually just got off the phone with Bobby Womack less than an hour ago; he’s one of my favorites,” Ross told MTV News in October. “We just spoke on it, so we got a little connecting to do, but it’s feeling good.”

Womack performed at Bonnaroo earlier this month, and his The Best Is Yet To Come album was scheduled for a 2014 release.

Ice-T’s Grandson Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter

by 30 mins ago

Ice-T’s grandson, Elyjah Marrow, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The report says that police found Daryus Johnson unconscious, and he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards. He was reportedly shot by the rap veteran’s 19-year-old grandson, who will now face charges of possession of firearm in the commission of a felony, reckless conduct, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of a stolen firearm.

“Marrow was not using proper firearms safety when handling the gun,” David Baldwin, a Marietta Police Officer, told the Marietta Daly Journal. “That reckless handling of the firearm is what led to Johnson being accidentally shot and eventually killed.”

Marrow is currently being held in the Cobb County jail.

Wanna Hear G-Unit And DJ Mustard Together? Check Out ‘Don’t Tell ‘Em’

by 12 mins ago

Wondering what G-Unit will sound like when they’re fully immersed in today’s musical landscape? For a taste, look no further than their latest release, “Don’t Tell ‘Em,” which dropped on Friday (June 27).

The track — originally recorded by Jeremih and YG — is produced by DJ Mustard and Mick Schultz. And if you’ve turned on the radio this year, then you’re well aware that, for a number of hits, it’s Mustard on the beat, h-e.

The whole gang is here, with 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Tony Yayo and Kidd Kidd all delivering bars around Jeremih’s vocals.

We’ll have to wait until November or December for the Unit’s reunion album, to hear what they sound like on a full project with original production in 2014. But we should get plenty more of these warm ups — of which we’ve already gotten a handful — on their upcoming mixtape.

“You’ll see a mixtape come out before [the album],” 50 told MTV News recently. “The material that you see us putting out, it’s just getting back to the way we did it from the very beginning. We’re gonna start over and work like we need a record deal.”

“But while we’re putting out that music, we’re making the coolest original content and letting that be there for the actual album.”

Drake’s ‘Draft Day’ Must Have Cleveland Brainwashed: Here’s Why

by 7 mins ago

On Thursday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected Andrew Wiggins first overall in the NBA Draft.

Yes, the same Andrew Wiggins that Drake shouted out on “Draft Day.” Yes, the same “Draft Day” where he shouted out Johnny Manziel. Yes, the same Johnny Manziel that was drafted by the Cleveland Browns. What the hell is going on here, Drizzy?

We know you rep Toronto to the fullest, and even show Miami plenty of love — but has Cleveland become your secret favorite destination? It certainly seems that way. Or at least that your lyrics and the city have a very special relationship. Or that the sports franchises there use your rhymes in place of scouts.

Drizzy’s Cleveland blood runs deep. Back in 2011, Drake threw out the first pitch at a Cleveland Indians game. “I’m sort of, just like, an Indians fan,” he said at the time.

He got a little more comfortable in the Midwest city later that year, when he brought out MGK during his Club Paradise Tour.

And then, of course, there was Manziel, a friend of Drizzy’s, getting selected by the Browns in May.

Followed up by the team making him a special offer.

Then, last night, Wiggins — a Canadian native — was drafted by the Cavs.

So what’s up with Drake and Cleveland? Who knows. But whatever the case is, we doubt Cleveland sports fans are upset.

So You Can Basically Buy Neil Patrick Harris On Groupon

by 24 mins ago

Do you want to meet Neil Patrick Harris? Of course you do! That would be legend… Wait for it … OK, that joke is dead. It would be pretty cool, though, right? (DARY!)

Lucky for you, there’s now a Groupon that will allow NPH fans to enter for a chance to meet the star of Broadway’s “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” — while also doing some good.

By donating $10 on Groupon, you’ll be eligible for a contest, the prize of which is a trip to New York City (complete with hotel, food and airfare), a meet and greet with NPH, tix to see “Hedwig” and a few other goodies. All proceeds will go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

This could be fans’ last chance to see Harris in the role of Hedwig; “Girls” star Andrew Rannells takes over after NPH’s run is done in August.

Are These ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Pics From The Film’s Opening Scene?

by 1 min ago

Spy pics for the upcoming sequel “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” have been hitting with some regularity, and the latest might be the most revealing yet.

Potential spoilers for “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” past this point!

This is pure speculation, because I have neither read the script, nor have any inside info on the movie. However, there have been persistent rumors than the sequel will pick up with the team attacking Baron Strucker’s (Thomas Kretschmann) stronghold somewhere in Europe, and coming into battle with Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).

What we do know for sure is that Strucker was last seen in an unknown stronghold during the credits of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” holding “The Twins” prisoner in clear glass cells. Strucker works for the evil organization HYDRA, and is in possession of Loki’s scepter from the end of the first “Avengers.”

We also know from “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” that Strucker’s bunker is one of the HYDRA outposts still held hostage well after the events of “Winter Soldier,” and that what’s left of S.H.I.E.L.D. is still looking to get that building back.

With all that in mind, as well as rumors that cite the opening scene having a fight in a forest, take a look at these pictures from the set, just snapped the other day, and see what you think:

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) knows it’s hammer time, getting ready to fight someone. Later pics show Thor battling someone clad in black, but it’s unclear who.
