What looked to be a pretty routine hospital visit on Thursday has turned life threatening for former B2K singer Raz-B.
The 28-year old was hit in the face with a glass bottle yesterday while trying to stop a fight that broke out at a club he was performing at in China. He underwent a minor surgery to repair a cut on his lip. “F–k this sh– hurts. I have a f—ing hole in my lip. Thank God I made it to the hospital,” Raz said in a statement to TMZ shortly after the incident.
On Friday (August 16), TMZ reported that the singer is now breathing from a ventilator and is in and out of consciousness. “He is in a coma and needs as many prayers as possible,” Raz’s rep told the site.
Raz left the hospital after receiving stitches yesterday, but when he didn’t wake up this morning his backup dancers took him to the hospital. Now doctors are testing for brain activity and sources tell TMZ that his condition is serious.
This isn’t the first time Raz has been injured while in China. In 2012, the singer severely damaged his nerves after falling through a glass door at a Shanghai hotel.
The singer rose to fame as a member of the boy band B2K along with Omarion, Lil’ Fizz and J-Boog. The group’s self-titled debut was released in 2002 and their sophomore album came in the same year. Together they crafted hit singles like “Bump, Bump, Bump,” “Girlfriend” and “Why I Love You,” but split in 2003 after they all starred in the movie “You Got Served.”
In 2010 Raz released his first solo mixtape titled Boy 2 King and has been touring China while working on a solo album.
