Is there really a better way to celebrate 20 years in the industry than with a summer tour? Well, that’s how Backstreet Boys plan on celebrating. The recently reunited fivesome will kick off their “In a World Like This” jaunt on August 2 in Chicago.
“Backstreet Boys are going on tour this summer,” Nick Carter said, via Ryan Seacrest’s website. “That’s right, baby! All five of us are back together. It’s our 20th anniversary tour. We’ve got a brand-new album coming out.”
And they’re bringing some friends along for the ride. They’ve enlisted the help of “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D and Jesse McCartney to open for them. The tour will make stops all across the country, including Las Vegas, Charlotte, Atlanta and more, before wrapping up on September 8 in San Francisco before they launch into a handful of dates in Japan. Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 17.
Ryan Gosling And The Backstreet Boys: What Could Have Been…
Lately, BSB have been working on a new album. It’s the first in nearly seven years that includes all five members of the group after Kevin Richardson re-joined the boy band last year.
“It doesn’t sound like ‘The Call’ or it doesn’t sound like the Millennium album,” Richardson told MTV News late last year about the release. “But it’s fresh, it’s new, we are trying to find where we are now sonically, and we are experimenting. It’s really exciting.”
