Britney Spears Joining ‘Smurf’ Family? ‘Ooh La La’!

Britney Spears fans, start screaming and shouting, because new music is coming your way. The “Scream & Shout” singer will appear grace the “Smurfs 2” soundtrack on the brand-new tune “Ooh La La.”

On Wednesday, the singer opened up a bit more about the track, sharing that she recorded it for her sons, Jayden and Sean. “I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans ever. I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they’ll think it’s Smurftastic!” she added in a statement.

The song was produced by Dr. Luke, along with Ammo and Cirkut. Luke enlisted the help of hitmaker Bonnie McKee as well as J Kash, Lola Blanc and Fransisca Hall to help pen the latest tune from the singer. It will appear during the end credits of the summer movie and while the film opens on July 31, no release date for the song has been confirmed yet.

“I am very excited that Britney is joining our smurfy adventure,” “Smurfs 2″ director Raja Gosnell said. ” ‘Ooh La La’ is the perfect Smurf-party song, and the perfect button on the film for audiences around the world.”

In addition to gifting fans with “Ooh La La,” the former “X Factor” judge has also been hard at work on her follow-up to 2011’s Femme Fatale. Not many details have been confirmed about the 2013 release, but we know she worked with will.i.am and Hit-Boy on it. She recently appeared on will’s #willpower track and its subsequent remix with them both.

“I mean Britney, I mean she’s amazing. She’s been around for years and she’s gonna to continue to do her thing,” Hit-Boy told MTV News back in January about working with her. “I wanted to just show people that I’m not just a hip-hop producer, that I’m not just an urban world [and] that I’m just a music maker in general. And I can make quality stuff no matter what it is, and when she reached out it’s like so perfect … to make it happen. So we went in the studio and we started making some ideas already. And it’s coming out nice, so I’m excited about that.”
