When it rains it pours, but “Challenge” veteran Diem Brown, who’s battling cancer for the third time, isn’t giving up hope as she travels down a particularly rocky road.
Earlier this month, Brown collapsed and was forced to undergo emergency surgery, during which doctors found cancer in her colon and stomach. And yesterday, she told People she woke up from the procedure to some devastating news.
“When I came to, they told me that they couldn’t save my uterus,” she said. “That was a blow. We’d fought so hard to keep it. Might sound silly to most, but it’s what made me still feel like a woman and gave me hope for a future. I felt empty…gutted…I was completely defeated.”
Brown also shared that now, after undergoing a second surgery, she’s been outfitted with a colostomy bag. But she’s not ready to succumb to self-pity.
“I might not have the ability to ever carry a child and I have this damn bag for the time being, but I’m alive,” she asserted.
Be sure to send Diem your support, and, if you’re able, visit her MedGift page to help cover her hospital stay.
