With exactly 11 days left until Halloween, there’s never been a better time to schedule a daily horror-film screening on your calendar. And with these 11 excellent films currently available on Netflix streaming, you can scream your way to the end of the month with a full gamut of scary fare: from humorous horror to grainy found-footage flicks, from gross-out gore to a nice case of the atmospheric creeps.

1. “Let the Right One In” (“Låt den Rätte Komma In”)

What it’s about: A lonely, bullied young boy is fascinated by his new neighbor, a tweenage girl who only comes out at night for reasons you can probably guess. An American version of this film was made starring Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloë Grace Moretz, but the Swedish original is decidedly creepier.
Watch it if: You ever fantasized about having your own personal, supernatural bodyguard to rip the throats out of those who tormented you.

2. “The Bay”

What it’s about: A bayside celebration devolves into deadly chaos, with documentary-style footage revealing that the town’s waters have been invaded by a mutant parasite.
Watch it if: You hate the ocean and everything in it.

3. “Dead End”

What it’s about: A family’s Christmas Eve roadtrip turns into an existentialist nightmare, as they become lost on an endless, exit-less back road, where each pit stop results in someone’s death.

Tom Shales and James Andrew Miller’s “Live From New York: An Uncensored History of ‘Saturday Night Live,’ as Told By Its Stars, Writers and Guests” initially hit the shelves way back in 2003, but a recent update to cover this past decade has exposed the behind-the-scenes history to a bevy of new readers — and surprisingly, it’s not the material covering Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, or Jimmy Fallon that has “SNL” fans reeling.

Instead, it’s an old passage on an ugly truth that alerted some redditors to the fact that white privilege affects everyone, even famous actors like Eddie Murphy.

“I fly to New York to meet with Eddie, who’s a baby, like nineteen, whatever, and we come down onto Fifth Avenue and he said, ‘You have to get the cab, because they won’t stop for me,’” John Landis (“National Lampoon’s Animal House,” “Beverly Hills Cop III”) said.

“We always had to go down and get cabs for him at two in the morning, because no cab drivers would stop for a young black man,” “SNL” writer Margaret Oberman continued. “Not even him.”

A black man being unable to hitch a ride is certainly nothing new — heck, “Gary Coleman” even sings about it in the musical “Avenue Q” — but Murphy’s story seemed to resonate with readers because the actor was already famous from “SNL” and “48 Hours,” yet he still had to rely on white coworkers to hail him a ride home. Amber Rose has already shot down rumors that she’s dating her new manager, Nick Cannon, but friendly roller coaster rides aren’t going to make the whispers stop.

Over the weekend Amber and Nicki were spotted on a roller coaster together, just having some good old fashioned fun. According to TMZ, on Friday night they were on a solo outing to Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA. It looks like an excited fan was the one who captured a video of them riding together.

Last week, Amber told E! News that the biggest lie she’s ever heard about herself is, “That I’ve slept with Nick Cannon!!!” She added that it’s, “Not true. Cool for him…but no, didn’t happen.”

The 30-year-old mother of one was also recently spotted out, getting close to Nick Simmons, but she says that they’re just friends.

Amber filed for divorce from Wiz Khalifa in late September.

October 19 marked the 20th anniversary of the theatrical release of “Clerks” and Kevin Smith‘s arrival on the independent film scene.

The movie that screened that day is the same low-budget wonder that we know today, but in its earliest form, “Clerks” ended on a much different note, one that may have changed the film’s reception if it had ever reached wide audiences.

Smith admits now that he only decided to kill Dante in the movie’s final scene because he didn’t know how to end it otherwise. After seeing this ending for the first time, Bob Hawk and John Pierson – Smith’s mentors – approached the writer-director about the end and convinced him to cut it.

Who knows what would have happened if Smith had decided to keep the ending? It certainly wouldn’t have garner the warm reception it received early on, and perhaps today, we wouldn’t be celebrating the two decades since its release.

Taylor Swift is dropping another new song from 1989, and it’s coming at midnight! And guess what? She gave us a little clip Monday morning (October 20). Hallelujah!

Taylor teased the single yesterday on Twitter, showing off photos of the city and a snap of her taking in the NYC skyline.

“I started the album with ‘Welcome To New York’ because New York has been an important landscape and location for the story of my life in the last couple of years,” Swift said in a press release. “It’s like an electric city, and I approached moving there with such wide-eyed optimism. I saw New York as a place of endless potential and possibilities and you can hear that reflected in this music and in this song.”

Taylor Swift moved to New York City this summer and has been loving it. “Welcome to New York” will serve as her ode to the city. The singer recently invited her fans to her SoHo apartment for her 1989 Secret Sessions. She’s even been trying to convince friend Selena Gomez to move there.

The song, co-written with Ryan Tedder and produced by Tedder, Noel Zancanella and Swift, will be out at 11:59 p.m. ET tonight.

In case you missed it, Lana Del Rey wrapped up her tour this weekend in the best way possible: at a graveyard in Los Angeles. Seriously. She played two shows on Friday and Saturday, and I was lucky enough to see it all go down IRL in the spookily-scenic Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

The show didn’t start until 8 pm, but I got there early to see what all her die-hard (heh, ’cause it’s in a graveyard…) fans were wearing since this was a particularly interesting mix of elements: Lana, a live show, and deceased Hollywood legends. But since I had barely any time to document all the ensembs before the sunset, consider this just a teeny, tiny sampling of all the killer (oops, I did it again) outfits from the night.

These ladies proved you can dress up and dress down a flower crown.
