When you’re invited to attend a formal event for Chanel celebrating their signature perfume, No. 5, what kind of purse would you think to bring with you? Something classic? Something in tweed? Or maybe something that looks exactly like what you had for breakfast that morning? That’s precisely what up-and-coming actress India Menuez chose to do, and it’s safe to say that her bagel-inspired purse was a total hit.

While India was busy frolicking with the likes of Gisele Bundchen, Lily Allen, and Anna Wintour at the event (all of whom were dressed in head-to-toe Chanel, obvz), the fashion world was busy freaking the eff out over her bag, which was totally warranted given the fact that delicious carbs have never looked so chic.

Taylor Swift, you fiend! You’ve barely given us time to fully digest your indie-pop sea change of a track, “Out Of The Woods,” and you’re already teasing us with new tunes via Instagram? OK, fiiiine, lady, we’ll bite — and get SO DAMN EXCITED.

After sharing possibly New York-themed lyrics to Instagram Tuesday for an as-yet-unreleased 1989 track, Swift revealed a new set of lines today (October 15). They read: “Nice to meet you/ Where you been?/ I could show you incredible things.”

The words are written on a fancy kind of greeting card, with a diamond necklace laid out around the whole display.

We’re not sure what significance the jewels have yet (it’s no paper airplane necklace), but Lorde did pipe up on Twitter that it’s her favorite track on the record, so maybe those sparkly things could be a nod to Taylor and Ella’s friendship? (Diamonds in the flesh and not being royal and all that).

I guess, for now, we’ll have to wait until the album drops on October 27 to see what’s what. In the meantime, we’ll just all be over here like…

Last night, Laverne Cox made her highly-anticipated appearance on Faking It and, of course, was the best. While we’re used to seeing Laverne on screen decked out in a khaki prison uniform, her Faking It appearance was much more stylish.

As Margot, Hester High’s drama club leader, Laverne made her grand entrance in head-to-toe white. I don’t even know what season it is, but I also don’t care, TBH, because—hello—check out this pantsuit. Olivia Pope’s got nothing on this, amirite???

OK, it’s not a typical pantsuit because, well, instead of a straight-forward blazer with sleeves, it comes with a cape. No offense to the drama teachers at my high school, but they were certainly not this impeccably dressed. No capes were ever even SEEN in the halls of my high school, I can tell you that much.

Killer Mike and El-P’s collaborative album Run the Jewels was one of the most critically-acclaimed rap releases of 2013. Their highly-anticipated follow up, Run the Jewels 2, is set to drop later this month. And it looks like there’s going to be more music from the two rappers, too.

Well, not exactly music. More like cat sounds. Exactly like that, actually.

Meow the Jewels, as its known, started as a joke. But now it’s becoming a reality.

“I was sitting at a table and I was just joking around and I just decided, on the spur of the moment, to come up with a bunch of obviously completely ridiculous and joke pre-order options, one of which was, that for $40,000, we will remix the record using nothing but cat sounds and call it Meow the Jewels,” El-P told Entertainment Weekly last week.

From there, fans decided to start a Kickstarter campaign to raise the money and make the peculiar dream a reality — and accomplished that goal on Wednesday (October 15).

“WE DID IT, YOU CRAZY MOTHERF–KERS,” El-P wrote on Instagram.

The two MCs aren’t just pocketing the cash, though. They’re putting it towards good causes.

“I intend to put all the money. Every dime. I’m not going to pocket anything,” he added. “That was the only way that I would be involved in it. I don’t know exactly how to do that, but we’re working on it. My intention is to get it equally into the hands ...

Because nightmares are real, two Minnesota teenagers received a surprise visit from a super-drunk guy dressed up as a zombie-fied version of Santa Claus last weekend.

Did he come bearing gifts at least? Nope, not unless you count vomiting and passing out on the nearest sleep-able surface. Which I don’t.

The Twin Cities Pioneer Press reports that the straight-to-DVD slasher wannabe is actually a 21-year-old student at St. Paul’s University of St. Thomas. Like many young people in the area, he spent last Saturday (October 11) bar-hopping in costume around Minneapolis as part of a Zombie Pub Crawl. Unlike many young people in the area, he ended his night by entering a stranger’s house to find a place to sleep.

One of the two teens at home, a 16-year-old, locked herself in the bathroom, while her 14-year-old brother ran out for help.

When authorities arrived to retrieve the Tim Burton-esque monstrosity, he had no idea where he was, says police spokesman Sgt. Paul Paulos, and he was taken to a detoxification center. The UST senior was cited for trespassing.
