Ariana Grande Totally Burns Chris Pratt In Their ‘SNL’ Promos — Watch!

by 12 mins ago

For those who ship Chris Pratt and Ariana Grande, today is your day.

As if Tumblr willed it, the “Guardians Of The Galaxy” star will host the Season 40 premiere of “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, and the “Break Free” singer will serve as musical guest. Needless to say, their “SNL” promos together are the best.

In the first one, Ariana tells Chris: “I’m such a big fan of your movies. Whenever I can’t sleep at night, I watch them, and they make me so, um…tired.” THAT’S COLD, GRANDE.

But, I think the second clip tops it. Pratt confuses her Italian ethnicity for Spanish and tries to save face after the flub by asking her, “Do you want to…pizza?” Literally no face was saved — except the right side of Ariana’s, which look flawless throughout.

‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Releases Four Unfinished Episodes Online

by 14 mins ago

You might not believe that there are four new episodes of the recently canceled “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” available to stream online right now, but as Master Yoda would say, “That is why you fail (to watch them).”

Lucasfilm has already satiated the desires of “Clone Wars” fans by putting “The Lost Missions” on Netflix, and now they’re giving fans a taste of four unfinished, full-length, never-before-seen episodes of the show on starwars.com.

A word of caution: when I say unfinished, I mean really, really unfinished. While all the dialogue has been recorded, the animation is a storyboarded animatic, so it doesn’t quite have the crisp, unique look that made “Clone Wars” so popular.

Still, if you were yearning for more from Anakin, Obi-Wan and company, this is your chance, with 88 minutes of completely new content. It starts with “A Death on Utapau,” which continues and helps to resolve main character Ahsoka’s story arc.

And because “Clone Wars” is the gift that keeps on giving, there will also be a novel coming out in 2015 called “Star Wars: Dark Disciple” about fan favorite villain Assaj Ventress.

With all this and “Episode VII” coming out next year, it’s not too shabby a time to be a “Star Wars” fan.

Snooki Welcomes A Baby Girl — Find Out Her Name!

by 23 mins ago

Nicole Polizzi is now the proud mother of TWO precious meatballs kiddos.

The “Snooki & JWOWW” star shared on Twitter Friday (September 26) that she and fiance Jionni LaValle welcomed their second child that morning. Giovanna Marie joins her cute-as-a-button big brother Lorenzo in the family fold.

Untitled

The “Jersey Shore” alum joyfully announced in April that her brood was expanding. Shortly afterward, she revealed that her bun in the oven was a girl — inevitably insinuating that she’d coordinate some leopard-printed outfits with her mini-me in the not-so-distant future.

Nicole, who experienced most of her second pregnancy with her BFF and new mom Jenni Farley by her side, lovingly dished that going through this journey with her close pal was “a bonding experience.” And now, Giovanna will have plenty of playdates with her fellow “wombmate,” JWOWW’s “little angel” Meilani.

Despite her discomfort in the final stretch with her “babygirl” — which all pregnant ladies can surely relate to — Nicole still managed to document her growth in a series of selfies, keep up with her fitness and ponder if her little one would take after her in the looks department. We can’t wait to see some snapshots of the munchkin!

Offer your congrats to Snooki, rewatch her DAY-LONG first labor below and be sure to stay tuned to MTV News for more updates on Baby Giovanna, as well as the return of Season 4 of ...

‘The Boxtrolls’: The Reviews Are In

by 4 mins ago

Hide yo kids, hide yo wife, and especially hide yo finest cheeses: “The Boxtrolls” is out today, bringing the titular lactose-loving trolls and their wildly askew hometown of Cheesebridge to life on the big screen.

The movie already has lots of positive buzz going, having gotten plenty of early attention for its charming animation and socially-progressive trailers. But now that it’s been let out of the box, what do critics have to say? Below, we round up some reviews.

Standing ovation for the animation.
“[It's] a wonderful world, full of Rube Goldberg contraptions below and colorful Dickensian squalor and excess above.” — Stephen Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer

“Like much of the best animation, ‘The Boxtrolls’ is above all a marvel of craft. Just before the final credits, we catch a glimpse of the labor involved — a fast, funny riff on just how painstaking the work of creating a kinetic stop-motion universe can be. And yet it looks like child’s play.” — A.O. Scott, The New York Times

And big ups for the writing, too.
“The dialogue is snappy and witty, especially the unexpectedly shrewd observations of Mr. Pickles, and the animation throughout etched in lovingly uproarious detail.” — Bruce DeMara, The Toronto Star

Parental advisory: You might like it more than your kids.
“Though produced by an American animation studio, “The Boxtrolls” is about as British as movies get. Its humor is morbid, its characters grotesque, its story driven by themes of class. …Imaginative but very weird, more ...

The Straw Hat Emoji Exists IRL, Guys

by 34 mins ago

Sooo, we might have an online shopping problem. It’s fine, though! Seriously. Thanks to our compulsive need to check e-commerce sites for new products on the daily, we’ve come across some serious gems along the way. Most recently, we stumbled upon something very surprising over at Modcloth–a product that looks exactly like the women’s hat emoji.

Emoji HatModcloth

You know the one we’re talking about, right? It’s made of straw with a green ribbon tied around the base and a giant bow on the front. Well, that’s the exact same description you could use to describe the “Pure Edith Hat” on Modcloth. And we should know–we have a penchant for finding emoji fashion IRL.

Related: Wait, Did Drake Get An Emoji Tattoo?

But dudes, it gets even weirder. The product description reads: “This vintage-inspired cloche is effortlessly elegant! Its unique, asymmetrical design of woven straw hearkens to the days of letter-writing in today’s modern world of texts and emoticons.” Did they just say emoticons?! Is Modcloth messing with us? Are we on Punk’d? We’re severely suspicious.

Even though we’ve never personally found a reason to use this emoji while textin’ with our friends, we’d assume people use it when talking about garden parties, anything related to Great Gatsby, or the Kentucky Derby. So if you fit the bill (heh), you can swipe it up for yourself for just

What’s Next For ‘Y: The Last Man’?

by 15 mins ago

Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra’s classic comic book series “Y: The Last Man” — about the last man on Earth (and his pet monkey Ampersand) traveling the world to find his fiancé and solve humankind’s near-extinction — has struggled to find big-screen life for the better part of a decade, and now, it’s hit yet another major setback — or taken a step forward, depending on your take on things.

Dan Trachtenberg, the man attached to direct the “Y” adaptation for New Line, has confirmed that the film is no longer moving forward, and that the rights have reverted back to the creators.

“The rights reverted back to Brian quite a few months ago,” he told /Film. “I had such a great time working on that project and am truly sad the things we were cooking up can no longer happen.”

At the beginning of the year, Vaughan revealed that if “Y” did not start shooting “in the next few months,” he and Guerra would retain the rights “for the first time in a decade.” That time has come, and now the choice is up to the creators of Yorick Brown as to whether or not they should move forward with any kind of adaptation.

So, what’s next? Will a live-action “Y: The Last Man” ever see the light of day? As far as we see it, there are a few possibilities:

1. Vaughan and Guerra can try their hand at another feature film;

2. They can do their best ...

‘The Equalizer’ Reviews: Are Critics ‘Taken’ With Denzel Washington’s Latest?

by 1 min ago

Hell hath no fury like a special-ops retiree scorned.

Academy Award winner Denzel Washington lends his gravitas to this weekend’s new action movie “The Equalizer,” directed by Antoine Fuqua, and based on the television show of the same name. It stars Washington as a former super-soldier who reenters the world of action and intrigue, squaring off against a Russian nightmare named Teddy (Marton Csokas), and a city filled with corrupt cops.

By some accounts, “The Equalizer” is to Washington as “Taken” is to Liam Neeson — your mileage may vary on whether or not that’s a bad thing. Here’s what critics have to say about Washington’s latest:

The Story
“Very loosely inspired by the 1980s TV show, ‘The Equalizer’ introduces Washington as a kindly senior citizen who works at a Home Depot (which isn’t called that, for reasons that will become evident) in Boston. But when Russian mobsters severely beat up a prostitute (Chloe Moritz) whom he regularly encounters at his favorite coffee shop after work, Washington decides to employ his old skills, which are quite considerable, to rid the city of the Russian criminals, who are in cahoots with local cops.” — Lou Lumenick, New York Post

The Action Hero
“Washington is terrific here, a blue-collar Bourne far from the champagne sophistication of Bond, his astonishing physicality springing out in his action scenes and in his decisive moments while still suggesting the calm, collected thought before each brief burst of violence. Washington is that rarity: an action-film star capable of ...
