‘Middle-Earth: Shadow Of Mordor’ Is The One Game To Rule Them All

by 4 mins ago

By Clint Mize

Though “Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor” doesn’t hit stores until September 30, MTV has been hands on with the ambitious game – which takes place after the events of the upcoming “The Hobbit: The Battle Of Five Armies,” and before “The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Rings” – for the past week.

It’s a deep gaming experience that’s steeped in the movies, heavy on action and an easy to jump into whether you’re a Tolkien fan, a movie fan, or just want something new and exciting for your game system.

Here’s everything you need to know… Because one does not simply walk into “Shadow Of Mordor”:

Lore of the Rings

“Shadow” — as its name suggests — is somewhat set behind the scenes of the immense world created by J.R.R. Tolkien’s mind. The story takes place after the events of “The Hobbit,” and leads up to “Fellowship of the Ring.” Thus, you’ll have a cameo from some mainline characters within the plot, and in flavor text for collectible extras.

The plot itself boils down to a revenge story. You’re Talion, an elf who is part of an elite ranger outfit guarding the gateway to Mordor. A massive attack on your outpost — lead by the fearsome Uruk-hai — devastates your base and the agents of Sauron perform an insidious ritual taking your life, as well as those of your wife and son. However, the spell has a secondary effect of binding your spirit ...

Justin Bieber Is In Full-On Romance Mode

by 47 mins ago

Justin Bieber has been using his Instagram lately to send one clear message: he is head over heels for Selena Gomez. We’ve already chronicled our own stages of acceptance about the couple’s rekindling, and ooh-ed and ahh-ed over the various adventures of Jelena since they started hanging out again.

But this latest pic from Bieber’s feed feels particularly poignant—it’s a romantic, fuzzy shot of Selena literally stopping to smell the roses.

It’s an adorable and touching moment that captures a certain sense of mystery and seriousness we don’t often see from Jelena.

But he couldn’t let Selena get all the attention and shared his own somber black and white selfie later in the evening:

We couldn’t be happier they’re back together if this kind of adorableness is going to continue.

Derek Jeter Gets Emotional Send Off From Fans In Last Yankees Home Game

by 1 hour ago

The Bronx will never be the same.

Derek Jeter played his last home game at Yankee Stadium Thursday night (September 25) and it was an event to remember.

It’s never easy to say goodbye, but it was especially hard for Yankee fans to send off The Captain, perhaps the greatest player to wear the pinstripes in the modern day era.

Tickets prices to see Jeter’s last at bat in the house that he built rose to an unprecented $845—despite the inclement weather.

It was a packed house.

Even Jay Z made sure he was in the building to see the great one’s last hoorah.

And just like he’d done for so many years under the bright lights, on the biggest stage, Jeter led off his first at-bat with a stunning RBI double deep into left field to tie things up 2-2 for the Yanks at the bottom of the first inning.

Not surprisingly, everyone was chanting his name and thanking the baseball Gods for the chance to witness the legend of Jeter for one last time.

But for those that couldn’t make it, Twitter was a welcoming bullpen for all things #TheCaptain.

Here are just a few of the best tweets of the night:

The Legend Of Jeter.

Tears.

More Tears.

The Governor Tips His Hat.

Respect Due.

Jeter The Hero.

Even more tears thanks to the emotional Gatorade commercial.

Thanks for the memories, Captain.

Jeremih Enlists Pitbull For The ‘Don’t Tell ‘Em’ Remix

by 1 hour ago

At this point, Jeremih could just coast on the success of his runaway hit, “Don’t Tell ‘Em,” to lead up the release of his highly-anticipated new LP, Late Nights: The Album. But that’s not how the Chicago crooner gets down. Instead, he enlisted Pitbull to help him remix the Billboard Top 10 hit and dropped a brand new song to boot.

Pitbull translates the track’s catchy chorus Spanish and contributes to the song’s celebratory tone. But because Mr. Felton loves his fans that much, he also released “Nobody But U,” on Thursday (September 25).

The electronic-influenced track finds the Late Nights singer serving up his signature falsetto at a more sensual pace than his current chart-topper.

“She taking her clothes off, I fell right in love with her body, I’m a tip it, I’m addicted I know that she got me/ain’t nobody in here with that body, nobody but u,” he sings.

Late Nights: The Album is set to hit shelves on October 7.

Jeremih also shared the cover art for his forthcoming record on his Instagram:

Instagram Just Introduced A New Level To The Selfie Game

by 19 mins ago

Ready for a little selfie improvement?

Instagram continues to keep the self-portrait photograph taking phenomenon interesting with the announcement Thursday (September 25), that users can now use their front-facing cellphone cameras when taking Hyperlapse selfies.

For the uninitiated, Hyperlapse allows users to speed up and slow down time while doing their best imitation of Annie Leibovitz.

Need more assistance with taking double-tap worthy pics? No problem, IG’s help page throws you an alley-oop.

Just tap your camera shutter to “selfielapse” mode or tap it again to switch back to plain Hyperlapse.

“Keep in mind that you can’t switch between selfielapse and Hyperlapse while recording a video,” the help page says.

The regular Hyperlapse app debuted last month with a focus on creating time-lapsed videos with the press of a button.

Ok, enough technical talk, get back to taking your selfies!

These Sexy ‘Frozen’ Costumes Could Heat Up Your Halloween

by 1 min ago

Ever wonder what the characters from “Frozen” would look like translated into “sexy” Halloween costumes? No? It doesn’t matter if you didn’t think such a thing was possible, because it exists. Yandy.com managed to turn even the roly-poly Olaf into an attractive Halloween get-up.

Because taking characters from a Disney movie and turning them into adult-sized, tantalizing costumes sounded like a good idea to someone. Here’s how Yandy approximated Elsa, Anna, and Olaf across four, uh, “sexy” varieties as follows:

Ice Girl Costume:

yandy.com

The most awkward part will be when mothers have to tell to their daughters that this costume is for “grown ups” and possibly even explain what a thigh high slit is.

Blue Snow Maiden:

yandy.com

I remember her dress being a little more floor-length in the actual film…

The Previously Referenced ‘Funny Snowman’ Costume:

yandy.com

Yes, that is a carrot nose.

Norwegian Maiden Costume:

*Stockings not included.

So there you have it—if any “Frozen” fans want to take their Halloween to the next level all these looks and more are still available for right under $100 here.

#TBT: That Time Will Smith Perfectly Explained Shopping With Your Parents

by 3 mins ago

Today is Will Smith‘s birthday. In honor of this blessed day (and #TBT), we’ve decided to take a look back at one of the Fresh Prince’s most timeless classics: “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” Not only does its video feature the coolest bedroom in the history of ever, the song outlines exactly how every style-conscious teen (this writer included—sorry, Mom!) has felt AT SOME POINT about shopping with their parents.

I remember one year
My mom took me school shopping
It was me, my brother, my mom, oh, my pop, and my little sister
All hopped in the car—we headed downtown to the Gallery Mall

will2Jive Records

My mom started bugging with the clothes she chose
I didn’t say nothing at first—I just turned up my nose
She said, “What’s wrong? This shirt cost $20″
I said, “Mom, this shirt is plaid with a butterfly collar!”

will3Jive Records

The next half hour was the same old thing
My mother buying me clothes from 1963

will4Jive Records

And then she lost her mind and did the ultimate
I asked her for Adidas and she bought me Zips!

will5Jive Records

I said, “Mom, what are you doing, you’re ruining my rep”
She said, “You’re only sixteen, you don’t have a rep yet”
I said, “Mom, let’s put these clothes back, please”
She said “no, you go to school to learn not for a fashion show”

will6Jive Records

I said, “This isn’t Sha Na Na, come on Mom, I’m not Bowzer
Mom, please put back the bell-bottom ...
