Ten-year-old guitarist Audrey and her surly, singing sibling, Kate, made headlines in July with this display of sonic brutality, relentlessly slaying a Slayer song, and having fun doing it, too. Note the unbridled joy in Audrey’s face as her little sister screams, ferociously, into a swimming pool noodle. This is metal in its rawest form.

You want to challenge your guitar skills? Try playing along with a Finnish symphonic metal band that has a drummer named Rolf. You’ll be humbled, especially after you watch 11-year-old Zoe Thomson do it flawlessly. Don’t feel too defeated. Zoe has an advantage, because she attends Newbury Rock School. That’s right. They have Rock Schools in England. Move to England, now.

Aaralyn

Here’s a good litmus test for measuring the thrashworthiness of your band: Does your music confuse Heidi Klum? It does?! Good. That means you thrash hard, just like Aaralyn and her older brother, Isaiah. What’s that? And you strike fear into the heart of Scary Spice? Congratulations. You’re a brave, heroic metal princess.

Remember when everyone thought that Kevin Gates and Young Thug were beefing? Well, what you thought was a beef between two of the newest and hottest hip-hop acts isn’t a beef at all.

“Everything okay with Kevin; me and Kevin ain’t got no problem,” Young Thug told MTV News on September 11, when we visited a Rich Gang video shoot in Atlanta. “Everybody thinking it was me and him goin’ at each other, that’s my brother. Ain’t no problem with me and Kevin Gates, everybody just trippin’.”

All of the speculation started earlier this month when Gates posted an Instagram video, seemingly bothered that someone (we all assumed Thug) wasn’t answering his calls. Gates ended his video saying “I don’t get tired,” a popular line from his single “#IDGT.”

Shortly after, Thug dropped an IG video blasting someone for sneak dissing, repeatedly using the same line: “I don’t get tired.”

Well, it turns out that the world got it wrong, because both Gates and Thug say things are all good between them.

“I really don’t know what you’re talking about,” Gates told Hip-Hop Since 1987 when they asked him about the beef on the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards green carpet. “That’s my little brother, God bless him, I love him.”

When asked if her “recent experiences in love” — code for her recent breakup with David Lucado — would influence her ninth LP, Britney told ODE, “Yeah, I think you take your experiences that you go through and definitely put it into your work. So, I’m gonna have a lot of ‘I hate men’ songs and then a lot of ‘I love men’ songs.” You had me at “Yeah.”

The 32-year-old Vegas entertainer also revealed that she’d like to one day collaborate with Gwen Stefani, Katy Perry and Iggy Azalea, saying, “I think they’re all really great.”

After her stop in the U.K., Brit took her promo over to Poland, Germany, and, as of Sepetember 25, Denmark. No word yet on whether she’ll #partyinfrance before she leaves the continent, but, like, she has to, right?

After Aubrey O’Day and Shannon Bex announced that they would be releasing their comeback album, DK3 on October 28, they dropped another bomb on all their DK fans in the form of a pure pop perfection hit of a song, “Rhythm of Love.”

Fans are probably breathing a sigh of relief: Dawn Richards vocals appear on the Stereotypes-produced track. After the trio’s nasty split caused by a reported physical fight between Dawn and Aubrey, many questioned whether Dawn’s voice would remain on the album.

The upbeat dance song, which follows their first comeback single, “Lemonade,” is all about taking a risk and falling in love. The girls reportedly sang the song while on their reunion tour last spring, after member Aundrea Fimbres left the group and before calling it quits in the beginning of August.

Kim Kardashian was attacked in Paris on Thursday (September 25) as she, husband Kanye West and mom Kris Jenner tried to walk the carpet at the Balmain show during Paris Fashion Week.

TMZ obtained video of her arrival in which the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star steps out of her car and a guy — who is supposedly Ukrainian prankster Vitalii Sediuk — grabs her and tries to bring her down.

Kim clutches onto her bodyguard while calling out to Kanye, who was exiting the other side of the car.

According to TMZ, photographers held down the man until Kim went inside, and apparently, no arrests were made.

Just yesterday, the Wests were at the Balenciaga show, bringing baby North West along to sit front row.

Hip-hop being taught in the classroom is not a particularly new phenomenon. There are hip-hop studies classes, some that focus on writing and production, and you can even minor in hip-hop culture at the University of Arizona. But this is something else entirely.

In a psychology course at Ohio State University, the professor (or maybe TA) seems to have decided to use rappers as part of their teaching approach. They inserted MCs names into questions related to the material, making them both entertaining and — at least for me, with little background in psychology — utterly confusing. But also amazing.

It’s been a long summer without some of our favorite shows, and with the kickoff of fall TV this month, everyone needs a refresher on where we left off. Matters are far from resolved in Ferguson, Missouri, more than one month after police officer Darren Wilson shot and killed unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown. The most recent occurrence, however, was a more positive one. Police chief Thomas Jackson has come forward and issued a formal apology to the Brown family.

In a video posted to the web Thursday (September 25), Chief Jackson spoke directly to the family of the teen. “I want to say this to the Brown family. No one who has not experienced the loss of a child can understand what you’re feeling,” he said. “I am truly sorry for the loss of your son. I’m also sorry that it took so long to remove Michael from the street. The time that it took involved very important work on the part of investigators who were trying to collect evidence and gain a true picture of what happened that day. But it was just too long, and I’m truly sorry for that.”

Brown, who was unarmed, was shot and killed on August 9, while taking a walk to visit his grandmother. It’s still unclear what happened during the incident — accounts are still surfacing of the day — but Brown’s body was left on the scene for hours following the shooting.

The people of Ferguson reacted immediately, protesting Brown’s death and police treatment of the situation, with rioting following close on the heels of more peaceful demonstrations. The National Guard was soon called in.

Wiz Khalifa isn’t having the best week ever, but he still doesn’t seem to be losing his cool. On Wednesday, it became public news that his wife of about one year, Amber Rose, had filed for divorce. The reactions from fans were immediate, of course.

Things only got worse when Amber took to Twitter on Thursday (September 25), to confirm the news and pointedly accuse Wiz of cheating. She brushed off rumors that she was the unfaithful one, and thanked fans for their support.

Wiz, took to Twitter about an hour later, with two very calm tweets — considering that his crumbling relationship is currently a topic of conversation.
