‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Is Getting A Remake

by 15 mins ago

As anyone born in the ’80s can tell you, “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is a gem. The 1997 horror flick based on Lois Duncan’s book not only introduced a generation of teens and tweens to the never ending love between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze, Jr., it also introduced an eager generation of young men to the wonders of Jennifer Love Hewitt running around terrified while wearing a crop top.

Well, kids these days officially have it all, because a new generation of up-and-coming actors will soon cover up a vehicular homicide then deal with a fish-hook wielding killer. Per Deadline, “Oculus” director Mike Flanagan is teaming up with the film’s original producer Neal Moritz to remake the film, which is a pretty safe bet for Sony — the 1997 version grossed $125 million worldwide, then spawned a sequel the following year.

Could this remake be worth your hard-earned dollars? Sure — “Oculus” was a pretty fun, original movie, and the original “IKWYDLS” wasn’t exactly a critical hit. If anything, Flanagan’s version might even improve upon the original, but it will never improve upon its glorious ’90s fashion:

Getting Karmotional: How Will Karma Cope With The ‘Faking It’ Bomb Drop?

by 28 mins ago

Let’s put it this way: “Faking It“‘s Karma won’t soon win any card games with her poker face.

Though the straight Hester High School student convincingly played a lesbian during the show’s first season, she’s never had a talent for hiding her genuine emotions (remember: she was reduced to a teary mess when she guiltily rejected her best friend Amy, who had sincerely developed feelings for her pal). And — good or bad — we’re pretty sure we’re about to get a whoooooole ‘lotta Karmotions.

WheelAkiko Yamamoto

We’re not sure when, or how, but it’s likely that the show’s heaviest and most explosive bomb will have to drop sometime soon, and Karma will learn that her ex Liam and her best friend Amy hooked up. Yup, as showrunner Carter Covington told BuzzFeed, both engaged in some between-the-sheets action to get back at Karma for lying to them in different capacities, but in the light of day, the choice might not have seemed so worth it.

FTrailer1

So, if and when the shock subsides, how might Karma react? Will she be understandably pissed, or totally crestfallen by the admission? Is it possible that — with some heavy explanation — she could actually understand Liam and Amy’s actions, or will she shut them out completely, and just mope?

Take a spin on Karma’s wheel of emotion, tell us how you’re expecting her to take the news and be sure to tune in to the ...

Girls On Twitter May Die If They Don’t See Lauren Conrad’s Wedding Dress

by 29 mins ago

Over the weekend, our girl Lauren Conrad finally tied the knot with boyfriend William Tell, but ever since the news was released, there has been one giant question looming large on everyone’s mind: What did the dress look like?!

Related: Lauren Conrad’s Wedding Was Probably Nothing Like Speidi’s

Normally, we’d give the new bride some breathing room, but it’s pretty hard when LC is, you know, a clothing designer (of two brands, nonetheless!) and even outfitted her entire bridesmaids crew in gowns from her personal Paper Crown collection. As it turns out, we weren’t alone. Tons of LC fans took to Twitter to share their very strong feelings about the former Hillsie keeping her dress under wraps.

This Kitten Who Gobbles When She Eats Makes Us Want To Rip Out Our Hearts

by 8 mins ago

Dear famous people: This is an official message advising you to cease with the specially made-to-order, super-fancy, costs-more-than-my-apartment pets, and hightail it (get it?!) down to an animal shelter.

If you need further proof that this is a wise endeavor, might I introduce… Turkey, the tiniest, cutest little rescue kitty with the most adorable eating sounds this side of Lil Bub. She gobbles when she gobbles! Like a turkey!

Unfortunately for famous people (but fortunately for Turkey), this little bundle of gobbles has already been adopted, but shelters are just replete with heart-melting balls of fur with various and sundry entertaining eccentricities. Find your own Turkey today.

Here’s How To Get Rid Of That U2 Album

by 14 mins ago

Usually, citizens of the world are all, “Free things are the best!” snatching up beer koozies, keychains and all manner of useless things with almost rabid abandon when given the opportunity.

One free thing, however, was not unanimously met with grins and shouts of “Score!” — and that free thing would be U2‘s new record, Songs Of Innocence, which all iTunes users copped last week after the band premiered a new track at Apple’s product event.

Instead of reveling in not having to pay for the new tunes, some users were outraged that the record had infiltrated their iTunes — a state of affairs Apple remedied Monday (September 15) by creating a website that removes the album from one’s cache of tunes.

The site, titled, simply, “SOI Removal” is an extremely sparse affair. After warning users that after deleting the record there is no going back — “if you later decide you want the album, you will need to get it again” — Apple provides us with a button we may click on to effectively banish Bono and Co. from our iPhones and computers.

Tyler, the Creator, for one, must be very pleased.

Nick Jonas Isn’t ‘Afraid’ To Make ‘Bold Statements’ About His Family On Upcoming Album

by 1 min ago

It’s hard to believe its nearly been a year since the Jonas Brothers decided to call it quits.

A lot has happened since they put down their “Pom Poms,” Kevin had a baby, Joe got controversial and Nick got back in the studio to ready his much-anticipated self-titled album.

And while some of us (myself included) may still be wiping away the tears over the split, we may get an inside glimpse at what went wrong on Nick’s upcoming album.

“I think family is a big topic and the growth there and the changes that have happened in my life,” Nick told MTV News in New York recently about what topics he delves into on this album.

Nick, who told us he was also influenced by his upcoming TV show “Kingdom,” will be making “really bold statements” on the album, which is evident in his new single, “Jealous.”

But that’s not all: Nick’s also letting down his guard and admitted he’s not “afraid” to say certain things on these songs.

“I think it’s just about opening up about things that maybe would have made me uncomfortable in the past, and my family situation has changed so much over the last year and a half — just closing one chapter and opening new ones — that it’s taken time to sort of figure that out,” he explained. “Being willing to talk about that I think has been good for me.”

Milennials Are Reading More Books Than Their Parents

by 18 mins ago

Over the past decade, almost everyone who works in the publishing industry — editors, agents and many authors — became worried or convinced that the internet would make literature obsolete. Who’ll remember the classics, the thinking went, when nobody can even recall the tweets they’d just read a minute ago?

Fortunately, it appears that our attention spans are pretty resilient, despite digital distraction everywhere. The generation most comfortable with technology is also the most likely to pick up a book — or at least download it — reports the Pew Research Center.

Sure, 90% of 16- to 29-year-olds use social networking sites and 77% own a smartphone, but nearly half of them “report reading a book — in any format — on a daily basis,” Pew found. In fact, 88% of milennials had read one in the previous year, as opposed to 79% of people over 30.

They’re also more likely than older generations to visit a public library, and younger milennials visit libraries more frequently than older milennials.

OK, paperback and hardcover sales are down, but 37% of milennials read e-books, and a story is just as compelling on a screen as it is on a dead tree. (Plus, shlepping boxes of books is the absolute worst part of moving to a new apartment.)

Iggy Azalea Joins Jennifer Hudson On ‘He Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere’: Listen

by 45 mins ago

Don’t think about it too much, just dance — that’s what Jennifer Hudson would like you to do when you hear her latest single, “He Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere’,” featuring Iggy Azalea. The upbeat, disco-inspired single features production from Pharrell and a verse from the Australia rapper.

“Bonnie and Clyde never strange to us/ ‘Cause what’s life if you never live dangerous?,” Iggy spits on the track.

The song debuted via BuzzFeed News, and J. Hud explained that she and P wanted to capture some extravagance from the ’60s and ’70s, plus Iggy’s verse gave it that extra lil’ something.

(Check out the snippet above and listen to the full track at BuzzFeed)

“I hope it’s a song people can listen to and let the music do what it’s meant: let go of the sh– that holds you back and just take a minute to dance and feel good,” Hudson explained. “It’s the sort of track you can’t listen to without moving and the fact that we were able to have Iggy join in on it was just what it needed.”

The song will be featured on her album JHUD, which is due out on September 23.

Enormous ‘Hobbit: The Battle Of Five Armies’ Poster Has At Least Three Armies

by 53 mins ago

Whoa! That’s a lot of armies.

Up above, we’ve got the brand new, gigantic banner poster for “The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies,” the conclusion to Peter Jackson’s prequel trilogy… for now.

Assuming that this is actually the last movie, “The Battle of Five Armies” will feature Smaug’s assault on Lake-town and the ensuing, titular fight over his treasure.

Hopefully there will be another trailer soon, but until then feast on this poster and imagine what it’s going to be like watching Galadriel, Elrond and Saruman come to Gandalf’s rescue, something only referenced in the Appendices. That’s what I’m showing up to see.

Also, this may help the time go by faster.
