Kendrick Lamar Says His New Album Will Be Filled With ‘Aggression And Emotion’

by 14 mins ago

At this point, we don’t know much about Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming sophomore album — besides the fact that he’s hard at work and we’re eagerly anticipating its release.

One thing that we now know for sure: The project will have an abundance of “aggression and emotion,” according to an interview K. Dot gave Rolling Stone for their most recent issue, with Taylor Swift on the cover, on newsstands now.

In many ways, that sounds like it’ll be a thematic cousin to Kendrick’s major label debut, 2012′s good kid, m.A.A.d city, which was brimming with emotion in its own right. But it also had moments of sadness, as he told tales of abundant violence and slain friends. The follow up, it sounds like — though, of course, we won’t know for sure until it drops — may channel that tragedy into anger.

“There was a lot I left out of good kid — it could have been a 30-track album,” the Compton native said, adding that there may be some carry over content-wise. “There are a few [new] songs that can tie in with what I was talking about.”

After enlisting Drake, Jay Rock, MC Eiht and Dr. Dre for guest verses on the last album, the 27-year-old doesn’t have any features yet this time around.

What he does have, though, is “a bunch of tracks” with Dre on the boards.

That’s a lot to look forward to.

Here’s How To Say You’re Drunk In Almost Any Language

by 22 mins ago

Bombed. Blitzed. Loaded. Hammered. Wasted. S–t-faced.

In America, we have plenty of euphemisms for drinking too much. But, of course, we’re not the only country where people sometimes overindulge. Oh no, not by a long shot. You’re reading us, so that means you’re smart and only practice legal, responsible drinking, but if you happen to be traveling abroad and see someone else falling down drunk, here’s how to describe their state of inebriation to locals…

Italy

Romania
A se face muci (To make snot)

Hungary

Germany

Chris Brown’s ‘Loyal’ Was A Big Hit Inside Of Jail Too

by 23 mins ago

If you’re in jail, you’re probably not having the best time of your life, but during Chris Brown’s stint behind bars, he had a couple of encouraging moments. In addition to learning that “Loyal” had hit #1 on the charts while he was incarcerated, Breezy reveals that the guards actually played the song inside the correctional facility.

["They were] playing it over the speakers when I was locked up,” Breezy explained to MTV News. “You know how they’d call you like, ‘Brown you’ve got a visitor’ — they would play the music and I [thought]…this is funny.”

What a co-sign. And obviously “Loyal” was even bigger outside of those walls.

Related: Chris Brown Explains How He And Drake Patched Things Up

“I got a call from my management team [saying] ‘Loyal’ is number one, and that’s the best feeling in the world, especially when you’re in a dark, terrible place,” he added. “You just want somebody to say ‘aye man whats up, you good?’ or just check on you, and you find out that your music is in every club and everybody’s vibing to it, there’s just no other comparison.”

Chris Brown’s anticipated X album is finally in stores on Tuesday, September 16. The project includes other hits like “Fine China,” plus that Kendrick Lamar collaboration we’ve been waiting over a year to hear.

“I wanted it to be more of acelebration [of] the 10 years I’ve been doing [this] and being blessed to be successful for ...

‘Surge’ Soda Is Back! Here Are 7 Drinks We Need In Our Lives Again

by 31 mins ago

Coca-Cola announced Monday that it will be bringing back the cult classic beverage “Surge.” The fizzy, citrusy, highly caffeinated beverage made its debut in 1996 and was taken off the shelves in the early 2000s. And now, a limited supply of the drink will be available for purchase exclusively through Amazon.

But now that we have a small taste of artificially sweetened victory, we DEMAND more of our favorite drinks be revived:

1. Hi-C Ecto Cooler

Let’s be honest: You know this is what fueled you in your journey through the ball pit at Chuck E. Cheese.

2. Crystal Pepsi

Oh, Crystal Pepsi. Your light was dimmed too soon. The drink was only available between 1992 and 1993. It’s just not fair.

3. Sprite Remix

This was pretty much Sprite’s way of ~ embracing DJ culture ~, but the soda only lasted for two years on the market. TROPICAL SPRITE REMIX, COME BACK TO ME PLEASE.

4. Pepsi Blue

The thirst for this one is very real. Someone is actually trying to sell it on eBay for $222.

5. Pepsi Twist

Alas, another bright star that burned too quickly. The drink only lasted from 2000-2001, but it lives in our hearts forever.

6. Jolt Cola

Pete Wentz Reveals He Helped Deliver His ‘Super Slippery’ Baby

by 1 min ago

Pete Wentz got more than he bargained for when his son, Saint Lazslo, was born on August 20. Apparently, as he waited in the delivery room with in-labor girlfriend Meagan Camper, the doctor insisted he slap on some scrubs and get in there.

“It was crazy. The doctor was like, ‘You’re going to help, you’re going to deliver this baby,’” Wentz said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Thursday (shout-out to Us for harvesting this gem). “And I was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m not ready.’”

And even though Wentz has experience with babies (ex-wife Ashlee Simspon gave birth to his son in 2008), the Fall Out Boy bassist wasn’t prepared for this.

“I put on the scrubs and gloves and stuff and did the delivery,” he told Seacrest. “After the head came out, I was there, you know, and all I could think was, ‘Please do not drop this baby.’”

“Newborn babies are super slippery,” he said.

Fall Out Boy recently released their new song, “Centuries,” while bandmate Patrick Stump revealed that he will become a dad too. The FOB frontman and wife Elisa Yao are expecting their first child at the end of October. Maybe Stump can get some hands-on tips from Wentz?

Watch Lady Gaga’s Jazzy ‘Bang Bang’ Cover At The ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ Party

by 36 mins ago

New York Fashion Week might be over, but it still lives on thanks to Harper’s Bazaar. The magazine has blessed us with footage of Lady Gaga at the Plaza Hotel performing Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang.” The event was a celebration of global fashion director Carine Roitfeld’s Icons shoot, which fatures none other than September cover girl Lady Gaga. The event’s guest list was basically a who’s who of the music and fashion industries, including some of our favorites: Nicki Minaj, Sky Ferreira, and Joe Jonas.

We’ve already seen what Mother Monster was wearing to the event, but now we have a glimpse of the actual performance, and we are just—well, kinda overwhelmed by a lot of feelings, TBH. If this is any indication of the ARTPOP singer’s collaborative album with Tony Bennet, Cheek to Cheek, which is slated to drop later on this month, we’re all for it.

Do You Text While Walking? There’s A Sidewalk Just For You

by 40 mins ago

Forget bike lanes — cell phone lanes are the next big thing. There’s now a sidewalk lane in Chongqing, China that’s specifically for people who want to text and walk at the same time.

“Cellphones, walk in this lane at your own risk” reads one lane. The neighboring one says, “No cellphones.”

Look, we get it. Nobody wants to be stuck behind a slow walker who’s typing what must be an 80-page thesis into their phone. And we’re all guilty of running into the occasional street pole after getting sucked into an intense texting convo.

Our habits can be dangerous, though. We all know that texting while driving is a big no-no — but distracted walking causes more injuries per mile than distracted driving does, according to ScienceDaily. Of course, texting-while-walking injuries aren’t as severe as texting-while-driving ones are.

Texting and walking gif

Using your phone and walking at the same time throws off your balance, so it’s no surprise you’ll bump into anything and everything if you’re not watching where you’re going. This can lead to some pretty dangerous consequences, as was the case with this guy who was preoccupied by his phone and straight-up fell onto subway tracks after walking right off the platform.

subway fall

Last July National Geographic set up similar sidewalk lanes in Washington, D.C. — one for cell phone users and one for non-phone users, as in Chongqing. The temporary set-up was for the ...

Drake Goes To Hogwarts, Tries To Steal Hermione In This Magical Pic

by 1 min ago

Ron Weasley, watch your back — there’s a new, very photoshopped Syltherin in the Great Hall of Hogwarts, and he has his eye on your number one gal-pal, Ms. Hermione Granger.

Oh, and did we mention the fact that he’s Drake? Drake… O’Malfoy?

To give the Internet credit where credit is due, this beautiful work of photoshopping was not done by Drizzy himself. The “DrakeOMalfoy” meme popped up weeks ago, but Drake himself finally acknowledged it on Sunday (September 14), with the caption “Me at Hogwarts scheming on Hermoine #DrakeOMalfoy #CantStandMuggles.”

We love Drake (and Draco Malfoy), but the erstwhile “Degrassi” star is going to have a hard time getting through everyone’s favorite ginger Gryffindor for Hermione’s affections. Might we recommend hitting up the Orchideous spell? Some wand-flowers would surely Accio Hermione’s affection in no time.

What To Do If (And When) A Girl Finds Out You’re Into Her

by 57 mins ago

Guys often stick to a subtle, long-term strategy when trying to impress a girl they like — but listen, dude, you’re not as clever as you think. She’s probably gonna find out way before you planned to let her know, and everything can change in a second depending on how you react. Here are a few suggestions on how to avoid sabotaging yourself if she discovers you’ve got the feels.

Scenario #1: You meant to text your friend about how you feel, but accidentally sent it to her

LqnSjY6

What Idiots Do: Try to cover it up by saying it’s a “joke” and that you just wanted to see what she’d say after reading that.
What You Should Do: Be real. Own it. Tell her that, yes, the text was intended for your friend, but it’s really how you feel about her. The worst thing that can happen is she thinks your texting incompetence is a little awkward and out of the blue, but there’s a 95% she’ll be at least a little flattered (plus, her friends will think your mistake is adorable) and y’never know, it might work in your favor.

Scenario #2: You tell her friend (“between us”), who tells her almost immediately

secretssafe

What Idiots Do: Get angry and yell at her friend, then deny you ever said anything.
What You Should Do: Be cool about it. You don’t have to address it head on, necessarily, but don’t ignore it, either. Talk with her, compliment her, have a ...
