The doctor who performed the endoscopy that led to Joan Rivers’ cardiac arrest and eventual death in early September has been asked to step down at Yorkville Endoscopy.

Dr. Lawrence Cohen, who performed Rivers’ procedure, “is not currently performing procedures at Yorkville Endoscopy; nor is he currently serving as medical director,” according to a statement given to ABC News reports. Previously, Dr. Cohen was the clinic’s medical director and gastroenterologist.

After a procedure on August 28, the comedian spent a week on life support in New York’s Mount Sinai hospital and died on September 4 at age 81.

Although the clinic gave no reason for Cohen’s freeze, a source said it was because he let a specialist who was unaffiliated with the hospital examine Rivers, even though that doctor wasn’t authorized as a practitioner at Yorkville Endoscopy.

A representative from the hospital pointed to privacy laws as a reason for their lack of information.

“HIPAA laws prevent us from disclosing any information about patients,” the rep noted.

The New York State Health Department announced a little over a week ago that they would be investigating the procedures that led up to Rivers’ death, and this announcement may have stemmed in part from that.

As for the procedure, a close friend of Joan’s, Deborah Norville, described it as “a diagnostic procedure… [to] see why her voice had gotten raspy.”

Rivers’ funeral was held this past Sunday, on September 7.

“Studying communication and studying public relations and marketing and public speaking, that got me to where I am. And, even though I have this very new kind of career, I use everything I learned,” Oakley said.

You expect your college campus to have a quad, a library, a student center and a cafeteria — but how about a mine-resistant vehicle, a bayonet-knife, a grenade launcher and a bunch of M-16 rifles?

According to a new report, they’re all present on college campuses nationwide. Yes, that’s right — your college could have military-grade weapons and equipment just lying around. Casual.

Last week The Chronicle of Higher Education published a full list of everything the U.S. Department Of Defense has sent to 117 colleges across the U.S. since 1998. Here’s a sample (screenshot via Esquire), just to give you an idea of what kind of school supplies we’re talking about:

The full list — which you can check out over at The Chronicle — isn’t even complete yet. The inventory data still isn’t available for 11 states, as well as for Washington, D.C.

So how did all these universities gain this gear? The 1033 federal program allows extra leftover military supplies to be sent to law enforcement agencies all over the country — in this case, campus police forces. Colleges that participate in the program only need to pay shipping and maintenance costs.

These tools are only intended for dangerous situations like shootings or riots, and the police who handle these weapons are also thoroughly trained to do so. But the main worry is that campus police departments will abuse their power — a debate that’s even more critical given the events in ...

We haven’t heard new music from Big Sean in a minute, but he came back strong on Friday (September 12). Just a day after announcing that he’d inked a deal with Jay Z’s Roc Nation management, the Detroit rapper dropped four new tracks, and he wasn’t holding anything back.

Sean unleashed “4th Quarter,” (produced by Key Wayne), “I Don’t F–k With You” (produced by Kanye West, DJ Mustard, DJ Dahi), “Jit/Juke” (produced by Da Internz, Nate Fox, L&F) and “Paradise” (produced by MikeWillMadeIt).

On “I Don’t F–k With You” he really lets loose on….an ex. “And everyday I wake up celebrating, sh–, why?/ ‘Cause I just dodged a bullet from a crazy bitch,” and that’s just the beginning.

Things get a little lighter on “4th Quarter.”

“When I heard about these singers and all their naked pictures, I’m like did my e-mails just leak?/ Hold up…lemme check…oh nah nah nah they fake we good, we good.”

I’ll go out on a limb here and say that he’s talking about Ariana Grande’s reported nude photo leak, which she denied with a funny tweet. (We’re calling them a couple after they were spotted holding hands backstage at the VMAs).

Shortly after September 13, 1994, hit and the Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready to Die sunk in with hip-hop fans, it was clear the Brooklyn rap don could do no wrong.

The deep baritone in his voice, the perfect syncopation in his flow and the lyrics, God, how the lyrics resonated. But it wasn’t until after Biggie died on March 9, 1997, that hip-hop widely crowned him the Greatest MC of All Time (unfortunate timing but it’s rare anyone gets the flowers while they can still smell them).

Still, after Ready to Die it was clear that Big was a lyrical titan with a wit and musical might that few, if any, could match. But there were a few close calls.

Enter: “The What,” Biggie’s collaboration with Wu-Tang Clan’s Method Man. It was the sole rap feature on Big’s classic and perhaps his most evenly matched duet.

Most rap fans didn’t know what to expect from a Biggie Smalls album, but in 1994 Meth was a rap-savior-in-the-making, the Chosen One that many picked to take pole position in the 1990s. There was more weight placed on Meth’s shoulders than Nas, Jay Z or Big. He was, after all, the breakout star in the Wu-Tang Clan, the only one in the nine-man group to earn his own solo single on their 1993 classic, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).

If there’s anything else Beyoncé could’ve possibly done to make her already-perfect performance at the 2014 VMAs any better — it would’ve been a Nicki Minaj appearance during “Flawless.” We get it though, it wasn’t the right time. The right time came in Paris instead.

During the European leg of her On the Run Tour with Jay Z, Bey brought out Nicki to spit her verse on the “Flawless (remix).” Naturally, this instantly became a trending topic worldwide, because two Queens on a stage would make anyone’s head spin.

Lucky fans who witnessed it live shared videos on Instagram. It’s not the best view, but we’ll keep updating with better videos. And maybe this will show up in the “On the Run Tour” special, which debuts on HBO September 20.

Gather ’round, fashion nerds! MTV has a little style story for y’all. The tale begins in the wee hours of the morning when someone discovered something called the “Selfie-Hat” (which, surprisingly, is 100% unrelated to the Selfie Brush), and it quickly began to spread like wildfire across the internet.

As you’ve probably heard by now, “Dolphin Tale 2” has officially swum into theaters as of Friday, September 12. And while I’m obviously extremely excited about this, I’m also a bit apprehensive — there were just so many questions left unanswered by the first “Dolphin Tale,” and without further knowledge of another sequel, it’s worrisome that the franchise might pull a “Lost” and leave me hanging.

Of course I’ll reserve my judgment for when I see the actual film, but these are the 11 questions from “Dolphin Tale” that “Dolphin Tale 2″ MUST answer, lest I demand my money back:

1. What happened to the fishermen who carelessly allowed Winter to become trapped?
Did they receive the death penalty? I hope so!

2. Did Donovan Peck find things to like about himself outside of swimming?

Donovan wasn’t the most likable character in “Dolphin Tale,” and we know he went on to win the Junior National Swim Championship for the Clearwater High Tornadoes, but what happened next? As we learned from Kyle’s tragic story, sometimes life can take you on a course you never expected. Kyle himself was lucky enough to have friends and family to lean on when he was injured, but what if Donovan’s swim career was DOA? Was he able to find things to like — hell, even love — about himself out of the water? This is a part of the story I really hope “Dolphin Tale 2″ has time to tell.
