This Spoof Of Girls’ Morning Routine Videos Is Proof That Guys Have It Easy

by 25 mins ago

Girls’ beauty routine videos are to YouTube as pumpkin-flavored things are to fall: They’re effin’ everywhere.

For some reason, many girls of the internet film themselves explaining how to achieve their particular look by using an array of scary-looking tools and devices. Filled with unnecessary text boxes, subtle brags, weird sound effects and the most “DUH”-worthy over-explanations of every little thing, these vids are usually just excuses to shop for new makeup.

So what happens when the tables are turned and a dude films his own morning routine, hitting on all the YouTube stereotypes? BuzzFeed tested it out, and let’s just say, you can actually learn some stuff.

For example, if you take some water…

…and you mix it with some soap…

Kim Kardashian NEEDS The iPhone 6 — Here’s Why

by 29 mins ago

Kim Kardashian: Your dreams have just come TRUE, lady! Tuesday (September 9), Apple rolled out the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6-Plus and, get this Kim, the new models make it even easier to take selfies. Oh yes.

Sure, the phones have a ton of other rad features — larger screens, thumb-print technology, etc — but the thing that really got our attention raring was a feature called “burst selfies.” Basically, “burst selfies” is what it sounds like: it allows users to fire off a series of photos all in a row, so as to achieve the perfect shot. Imagine how awesome that would have been when Kim did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on “Ellen.” Action shot, anyone? She could have basically made a flipbook of the moment.

And just imagine what it could have meant for her upcoming Selfish all-selfies book?

Also, the whole deal would have been captured as if by an expert photog, as the new phones boast features that help iPhone slingers keep photos in focus, as well as shots steady. Perfect for anyone dumping ice-cold water down his or her back!

So, um, Kim… maybe invest in a new model? That is, if fancy famous people haven’t already been shipped the new goods via some kind of elite iPhone delivery service.

Former intern to Mel Ottenberg, Dasha has had her designs worn by Rita Ora but until this week, had never shown at fashion week before. Enter: the style soothsayers at VFiles and their seasonal VFiles Made Fashion show.

The team plucked ZDDZ from the internet ether, giving her graphic sporty separates a platform in Webster Hall. We caught up with the designer before the show to talk about drawing inspiration from random signage–street signs, packaging, whatever’s in front of her–and appropriating and recontextualizing it with her unique sense of humor. The girl attached fake thong straps to leggings and plastered the words “OPEN AS USUAL” across the crotch of a dress, so you know she’s fun.

Peep it all go down in the latest installment of #MTVFILES above!

Kanye West’s New Verse References His Classic Interview With Sway

by 17 mins ago

Almost a year after it went down, the epic Kanye West interview with MTV’s Sway Calloway is back on our minds this week, thanks to one particularly impassioned quote from Yeezy: “It ain’t Ralph, though!”

The line came when discussing Sway’s clothing line — which Kanye stressed was not on Ralph Lauren’s level. On Monday night, in a snippet of a new Theophilus London song, “Can’t Stop,” ‘Ye rehashes the line — though in a different context.

“It’s aight, but it ain’t Ralph, though/ And unless your money talkin’, keep your mouth closed,” Yeezy raps on the minute-and-a-half snippet, invoking a flow and cadence that recalls sonics of Graduation-era Kanye far more than Yeezus-era Kanye.

The track appeared online just hours after Ralph Lauren himself responded to the initial comments in an interview with Style.com. “That’s very cool. Well, that’s great,” he said. “If I were to cater to Kanye, he would know that I’m catering to him. The fact that I make what I make—he gets it.”

The “Can’t Stop” snippet first appeared on an iTunes pre-order for London’s new album, Vibes. According to London’s Facebook page, the project will be executive produced by Kanye and is set to drop on October 28.

Atlanta Hawks Face Their Second Racial Controversy This Week

by 26 mins ago

Months after former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling drew fire for his racist comments, the NBA finds itself in a similar controversy.

On Sunday, news broke that Atlanta Hawks co-owner Bruce Levenson decided to sell his shares after self-reporting a racist email that he sent two years ago; now Hawks general manager Danny Ferry is in hot water for comments that he made.

Ferry received undisclosed discipline by team CEO Steve Koonin after making inappropriate comments about NBA star Luol Deng during a June conference call with members of the ownership team, ESPN reported on Tuesday (September 9). During the call, where team officials discussed the possibility of signing Deng as a free agent, Ferry said that the two-time all-star “has a little African in him.”

He went on to try to justify the comment. “Not in a bad way, but he’s like a guy who would have a nice store out front and sell you counterfeit stuff out of the back,” Ferry said during the call.

Atlanta’s WSB-TV obtained a letter from Hawks co-owner Michael Gearon Jr., which detailed the incident. Gearon went on to say that he and the other co-owners were appalled by the comment; in his letter he recommended that Ferry be fired or asked to resign. It was during the investigation of Ferry’s comments that the Hawks uncovered Levenson’s email, where he stated that the majority black crowd at Hawks games in Atlanta scared off white fans.

Ferry apologized on Tuesday, but ...

This Bored Kid Face-Planting At The White House Is Our Hero

by 1 min ago

The worst part of growing up is that you instantly lose the ability to just lie down in public if you feel so inclined. You know, like when you’re out to dinner with your family and you’re super sleepy and your mom and dad are talking and… Hmm, doesn’t this booth look super comfy? Annnnnd… face-plant. Yeah, you can’t do that once your voice chances and you’ve started cramming for the SATs or whatever.

It’s this nostalgia for public relaxation that renders the child above our spirit animal. Yup, you’re not seeing things. This kid — while visiting the White House — just planted himself face-first into a plush Oval Office couch, choosing to ignore whatever it is President Obama is discussing with his smiling mom and dad.

Just look at that form! That kid definitely had some serious couch creases on his face after extricating himself from the cushions — how much change do you think he yoinked? — and smoothing out that baller little suit jacket.

You do you, kid. You do you.

And once more, to get the full effect…

Florida Teens Allegedly Break Into House Just To Have Sex

by 28 mins ago

Sometimes couples want to spice up their sex lives by trying a new spot at home — the kitchen, the shower, the roof — but they should probably keep it limited to a home that’s actually, y’know, theirs.

Last Saturday night, the Smoking Gun reports, police in Bradenton, Florida, arrested two 18-year-olds, Allison Riddle and Evan Jones, for allegedly breaking into a house by entering the security code, which a (probably now jobless) friend who mows the owner’s lawn gave them. A neighbor reportedly saw them and called police, knowing the owner was elsewhere.

A cop showed up, searched the house and (“my firearm drawn”) found the bedroom door closed. He ordered the teens “to come out with their hands up,” and the “male offender” allegedly yelled, “All right, we are coming out!” Police say the couple admitted “they were not supposed to be inside of the residence,” but insisted they weren’t thieves looking to steal anything — they just wanted to have sex in the homeowner’s bedroom, for whatever reason.

According to the police report, the teens’ story appears to hold up — no possessions were missing. They have been released from custody, and face burglary charges. Next time get a room, you two…your own room!

Holland Roden, Kiernan Shipka, Keke Palmer, And More At NYFW

by 33 mins ago

OK, now we’re really deep into New York Fashion Week. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, y’know? While we’re tired from just sitting here looking at photos, our faves have been out and about all day and night hitting up shows and after-parties. We’ve been keeping tabs on major appearances all week, and today is no different.

Holland RodenGetty

Um, how gorgeous is Holland Roden? The Teen Wolf star stunned in a nude dress at Adeam with some cleverly placed sheer paneling. Her white strappy heels added to the “barely there” vibe. We’re feeling that perforated skirt detail pretty hard.

Kiernan ShipkaGetty

At Zac Posen, Kiernan Shipka opted for pants—a flip of the script that we are obsessed with. We are pretttty into whatever Kiernan does, but especially fond of this sartorial decision. Kiernan’s structured navy top, brocade trousers, and pointy heels are making us emotional in some kind of way, TBH.

Keke PalmerGetty

Dang, Keke, don’t hurt ’em! The actress and host of Just Keke wore a sheer sleeveless black blouse, an iridescent skirt, oversized sunglasses, and barely there heels at the Milly by Michelle Smith show. We are very into the sheen that her skirt is giving off, and we are all about the floral detail on her blouse’s collar. It’s super sweet and ladylike, which is so on-brand for Milly. A+, Keke.
