The world proved itself to be a dark and horrible place filled with garbage humans once more when trolls forced Robin Williams’ daughter, Zelda, off of Twitter and Instagram with messages blaming her for her father’s recent suicide. Twitter, in response, has vowed to change its abuse policies.

“We will not tolerate abuse of this nature on Twitter,” Del Harvey, Twitter’s vice president of trust and safety, said in a statement to the Washington Post. “We have suspended a number of accounts related to this issue for violating our rules and we are in the process of evaluating how we can further improve our policies to better handle tragic situations like this one. This includes expanding our policies regarding self-harm and private information, and improving support for family members of deceased users.”

Mashable reports that the accounts that had been harassing Williams — sending her Photoshopped photos of her father with bruises on his neck, among other things — have since been suspended.

Williams had previously asked her followers to report those accounts, and posted a statement to Tumblr thanking her supporters and calling out those spewing negativity.

“As for those who are sending negativity, know that some small, giggling part of him is sending a flock of pigeons to your house to poop on your car,” she wrote. “Right after you’ve had it washed. After all, he loved to laugh too.”

Wiz Khalifa caused quite a stir when he was arrested for possession of marijuana in Texas back in May. While in custody, he took a selfie that threw his fans into a tweeting frenzy, spawning the trending topic #FreeTrapWiz.

The MC was eventually released hours later, but after he missed a scheduled court appearance earlier this month an El Paso judge issued a warrant for his arrest.

Numerous outlets, including MTV News, reported on it and Khalifa even made light of the situation telling Hot New Hip-Hop to “stop snitching” on Twitter.

In actuality, Wiz isn’t worried at all.

“It’s taken care of, but I’m not really speaking on it too much because it’s not the story of my life,” Wiz told MTV News on Sunday, when we caught him in Detroit right before he took the stage for his Under the Influence of Music Tour. “Nobody has to worry about me going to jail.”

That’s good news, because on August 19, Wiz will release his third major label LP Blacc Hollywood. Fans who can’t wait can listen to the entire album right now on Wizkhalifa.MTV.com.

Arianators, fans of genius reality television, and general human beings, listen up: you really need to be watching “Big Brother” right now.

No, it’s not necessarily because this year features an excellent cast of future All-Stars, or because of Frankie J. Grande’s existence on the show, or even because there’s a character who calls himself “Beastmode Cowboy” while he wanders around in neon tank-tops, bath robes, and seemingly purposeless head scarves.

All of those things are great, but the thing #BB16 fans can’t stop talking about right now — and for very good reason — is the ambiguously sexual, game-changing bromance that is Zankie.

Zankie, for those unfamiliar with the term, is the self-coined shipper-term for the relationship between Frankie, who is openly gay and looks like a human peacock, and Zach Rance, a 23-year-old emotionally unstable “straight” bro who is seemingly madly in love with him.

No, not seemingly. It’s a solid fact. On Wednesday night, after a summer of cuddling, scheming, and will-they-won’t-they gay-straight showmancing, Rance was heartbroken when Frankie finally revealed his secret identity as Ariana Grande’s brother. Literally, this was his response:

With much pretty no official information coming from the set of “Star Wars: Episode VII,” fans have obsessed over little clues. Take this Instagram photo of Mark Hamill for instance.

All right. He’s beardy, for sure. This is definitely the scruffiest-looking nerf herder Luke Skywalker we’ve ever seen. What could this possibly mean for “Episode VII”?

Honestly, it doesn’t reveal anything, as much as it confirms what everyone already thought. Luke, now an older Jedi, will probably take on the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi, so that means beard. But there’s one thing we can definitely say about “Episode VII” based on this one picture of Mark Hamill: Luke Skywalker has never looked cooler.

It’s a flaw of the original trilogy. [Dodges thrown knife.] Luke Skywalker was never that cool. [Deflects tossed rotten vegetables.] Sure, he’s the hero of the saga, but Han Solo was always the dangerous one. Luke only really got cool once he showed up to Jabba’s palace in a black robe wielding his new green lightsaber.

Now we’re 30 years down the line. This Luke has seen some sh–, and if story rumors are to be believed, he’s been through some hard times.

This isn’t the boy from Tatooine anymore. He was ground zero for the new Jedi order, having to start from scratch, and now he’s old. That, I imagine, builds a lot of character.

There’s obviously still the possibility that everything going on with “Episode VII” could completely and utterly suck, but if this is where ...

It’s never funny when people lose their jobs, and usually the person in question will argue that they didn’t deserve to be cut, but in DJ Mano’s case, he might have a hard time proving ‘Ye wrong.

DJ Million Dollar Mano has been Kanye West’s tour DJ for many years now, and even contributed to production on his albums, but they’re not working together anymore.

Mano took to Twitter to confirm the news and joke about hate tweets he was receiving from Kanye fans. Maybe he’s especially mad at the one who took time to compile this footage on the Kanye to The forum, of him screwing up on stage and leaving Kanye hanging? Yikes.

He didn’t handle it graciously, either. Mano then took to Twitter to lash out at Yeezy’s faithful following and make some pretty derogatory comments.

“gonna have a fun day blocking these kanye stans that are happy i don’t dj 4 him anymore hahahahaha!” he wrote. “a lot of u fans are low key gay and want more than a fan/relationship with the men they look up 2. I’m making a list and I’m collecting info. I’m gonna expose all the trolls.”

A new album of publicity photos for “Downton Abbey” hit the internet today, and while they’re all delightful teases of the show’s upcoming fifth season, one of them is downright shocking. Steel yourselves, delicate ones: what you’re about to see may disturb you.

At first glance, this seems like a lovely shot of the Earl of Grantham with his daughter, Edith. But upon closer examination…

…there’s something so very wrong with this picture. No wonder the Earl looks so stricken; tuxedos at the dinner table were one thing, but this alien vessel on the mantle is a bridge too far!

Meanwhile, we will just assume unless otherwise informed that the plastic bottle was an unfortunate blooper, and not an Easter egg for a surprise twist plotline involving a romance between Lady Edith and a time-traveling suitor from the 20th century. (Not that we would complain about that.) And the other photos, which include no plastic interlopers, are very lovely too.

The fifth season of “Downton Abbey” will air in the U.S. in January 2015.

It’s official: Justin Bieber will have to enroll in anger-management courses as a result of a plea deal in his Miami DUI case. Though the singer did not have to appear in court on Wednesday, Justin’s lawyers announced a deal with prosecutors to spare the star any jail time in the case.

CNN reported that Bieber, 20, made a $50,000 donation to the “Our Kids” charity, agreed to get 12 hours of private anger-management counseling and attend a program that teaches about the impact of drunken driving on victims as part of the plea deal. In exchange, a judge accepted Beiber’s guilty plea to misdemeanor counts of careless driving and resisting arrest during an incident in January where police said they suspected the star was intoxicated after they pulled him over for speeding down a residential Miami Beach street.

Though Justin was not in the courtroom, Judge William Altfield delivered a lecture that he hoped Bieber’s lawyers would pass on. “I hope that he realizes that his actions not only lead to consequences that affect him, but they lead to consequences that affect others who are looking up to him as a role model,” Altfield said.

CNN also noted that despite the fact that Bieber’s never been charged with a felony crime or drug charge and never been in rehab, Altfield compared him to Robert Downey Jr., who struggled with substance abuse and wild behavior in his younger days.
