‘Finding Carter’ Poll: Should Max Have Spilled The Beans About Spotting Lori?

by 21 mins ago

These days, Carter Stevens can count the number of people she trusts on a single disfigured hand. And after tonight’s “Finding Carter” episode, she might even have one fewer confidante.

After Max left the Wilson household out of fear he’d become burdensome, Carter’s ex-boyfriend pulled into a gas station to fill up his truck when he spotted Carter’s abductor Lori. She tried to sneak away undetected, but Max wouldn’t let her off so easy, and soon, the two were wrapped up in conversation at a picnic table.

Lori explained she still had every intention of taking Carter back as soon as she secured a new identity, and that she planned to make contact within two weeks. Max tried to reason with her and argued that Carter had finally found her footing with the Wilsons. But Lori dismissed him — and made him swear that he wouldn’t tell Carter he’d ever seen her.

Max kept his word but tested the waters at Carter’s sleepover when he asked his ex-girlfriend what she’d do if she ever saw Lori again. Carter, who’d momentarily forgot her abductor’s name, was suddenly racked with guilt and emotionally made her way to her room. Bet she won’t be too thrilled if and when she learns Max knew about Lori’s whereabouts, either…

Whaddya think: Should Max have ignored Lori’s plea and told Carter — his close friend — he’d seen the woman? Take the poll and explain your choice.

Kirko Bangz And August Alsina Chase A Better Life In ‘Rich’ Video

by 1 min ago

You want to be rich? What are you willing to do to get there? What path will you take?

That’s what Kirko Bangz asks in the video for his new single, “Rich,” featuring August Alsina. The visuals also feature a guest appearance by Ty Dolla $ign.

“The song is more about me, but the video is more relatable to everybody,” Kirko told MTV News on Tuesday (July 22) of the video, which was shot in Los Angeles. “Even if you ain’t lived or went through it, you know somebody that went through it. Basically, it’s like, we all wanna be rich, yeah, we know that. But how do you wanna be rich? Do you wanna take it slow and do it the right way? Or you wanna take the fast way, and nine times out of ten you f–k around and get caught up, get hurt, killed, whatever.”

“Are you willing to take the consequences of doing it the fast way? Are you willing to be patient enough to do it the right way?”

As you’ll see in the video, those consequences can be dire.

Kirko’s Atlantic Records debut, Bigger Than Me, is due out later this year.

Robin Thicke And Paula Patton’s Home Is Officially On The Market

by 53 mins ago

Sometimes, actions really do speak louder than words.

Although Paula Patton hasn’t responded to estranged husband Robin Thicke’s apology LP, Paula, the fact that the couple’s love nest in Bel-Air is officially on the market doesn’t bode well for a happy reunion.

TMZ confirms that the 3,158-square foot home was listed for sale Monday (July 21) with an asking price of $2,985,000.

While neither Robin nor Paula have reportedly moved out of the two-story home, they also apparently haven’t slept under the same roof since separating in February.

The house, which has a breathtaking view of Sunset Boulevard, comes with a recording studio, where Thicke likely recorded songs like “Get Her Back” for his seventh solo album.

Robin’s name is on the deed, despite that fact that his father, Alan Thicke, originally purchased the home in 1990 for $910,000.

Whitney Houston’s Mother Speaks Out Against Lifetime Biopic: ‘Let Her Rest’

by 1 hour ago

Whitney Houston’s family has a very simple message to her fans: “please let her rest.”

That’s the plea Whitney’s mother, Cissy Houston, made Tuesday (July 22) while condemning Lifetime’s upcoming biopic about her daughter, “I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story.”

“Lifetime has chosen to go ahead with the movie about Whitney in spite of my family’s objections, Cissy said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. “No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby [Brown].”

While the late icon’s fans have been eagerly anticipating the Angela Bassett-directed film, her family has not been happy about it. Whitney and Bobby’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, has already voiced her disapproval via comments on Twitter that have since been deleted.

Former America’s Next Top Model contestant Yaya DaCosta will play the role of Whitney, while Arien Escarpeta will play Bobby.

Although Bassett co-starred with Houston in “Waiting to Exhale,” the family feels as though the film won’t be an authentic account of their beloved Whitney.

“In the two years since Whitney’s death, many people have stepped forward to speak about their close relationship with her,” Cissy continued. “I find it difficult to believe people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn’t know her. We are exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please, please let her rest.”

5SOS Is NOT A Boy Band, And Here’s Exactly Why!

by 3 mins ago

5 Seconds Of Summer range in age from 18 to 20. They play their own instruments, travel the world together, and two of them have chest hair. They’ve penned odes to ladies boldly standing in front of them wearing men’s underwear. They’re nominated for Artist To Watch at the 2014 VMAs. And aren’t those the empirically agreed-upon criteria that separate boys from men?

Yet despite their deep voices, Adam’s apples and ability to shred, they’re often frequently — and erroneously — pegged as a boy band, which was a controversial topic of conversation that came up during “Live From MTV: 5 Seconds Of Summer.”

Guitarist Michael Clifford’s reaction to the boy band label was mock horror: “The B word!,” he joked. “People are just gonna say whatever they wanna say. We’re not a boy band. Our fans know that. That’s all that matters.”

“We’re just a band. Two out of four of us have chest hair,” drummer Ashton Irwin swore.

But while 5SOS themselves may not care if you call them a boy band (for the record, they’d prefer “just a band”), the 5SOS fam in the “Live From MTV” audience gasped at the mere mention of the offensive term, shouting out “They’re a man band!”

Truth. Because would a boy do this?

Or this?

Or this?

Or have arms that look this?

Nope. See? Men.

Everything You Always Wanted To Know About My Podcast With Woody Allen (But Were Afraid To Ask)

by 30 mins ago

Last week I drank a Diet Coke from Woody Allen’s refrigerator. For some reason that feels like a more intimate act than me actually sitting down and chatting with him. Luckily both things occurred, as a podcast of me drinking a celebrities’ private beverage stash wouldn’t be all that entertaining.

Woody Allen doesn’t do a ton of press nowadays. Some of the reasons are obvious. And that’s a shame really because back in the early days of chat shows he was just about the best there was. But of course he’s 78 now so when I sat down with him for an intimate talk in his office I prepared myself for disappointment.

Instead I found a quick witted and thoughtful consummate storyteller. I had just moderated the press conference for his new film, “Magic in the Moonlight,” a press gathering that was filled with Woody regaling a crowd with the meaninglessness of life (no one else can make this subject more entertaining).

As I mentioned in my podcast with him, I feel a huge personal connection to the work of Woody Allen. If you know me at all, this is about as unsurprising a thing as I could say. I grew up in New York City. I worshipped film and comedy. The first movie I ever saw with my wife was “Manhattan.” I could list a dozen other reasons for why I own no less than three books of collected conversations with Woody Allen.

So yes, sitting down with him and ...
