Blood Orange Remixed Sia’s ‘Chandelier,’ And It’s A Weeper

by 21 mins ago

Blood Orange (a.k.a. Dev Hynes) has released what he’s calling a “remix” of Sia’s “Chandelier,” but it’s basically a whole new song that samples the smash hit — and it’s pretty sad-making.

“Chandelier,” although it sounds like a kind of YOLO club jam, is actually anything but — it’s a dark song about being a “party girl” and the toll that that can take on one’s soul.

Blood Orange’s remix of the track brings out the tension and gloom of the original, laying it out in a more obvious — but no less effective — way. Check it out below:

JWOWW & Roger Mathews Share Final Sonogram As Due Date Quickly Approaches

by 5 mins ago

BABY’S (almost) HEAAAAH (any day now)! That was our best Pauly D voice, in case you couldn’t tell.

No need to alert everyone and their grandma just yet, but Jenni Farley did share what’s likely to be the last sonogram shot of her baby girl before the little one’s sure-to-be-stylish arrival. We won’t be shocked in the least if JWOWW’s babe comes out wearing a wee wittle pair of stilettos. (We kid…because OUCH.)

Awwww…angel, indeed! JWOWW’s fiancé Roger Mathews tweeted the same photo with the caption, “Almost here………………tic toc tic toc.”

Do we sense a little impatience, Rog? While you’ve no doubt been a flawless daddy-to-be, this pregnancy certainly hasn’t been all rainbows and unicorns.

Nonetheless, it’s been a long ride, with an adorable Christmas Day birth announcement, her first oh-so-shy sonogram pic, a few frightening pregnancy complications and the most selfless thing a woman can do for her child — sacrificing her shoe closet in exchange for a nursery. We aren’t worthy, Jenni. We aren’t worthy.

Jury’s still out on Jenni’s epidural debate, but will her bestie Nicole Polizzi get her wish of watching the labor in full? Probably not, but here’s hoping that everything goes smoothly for Jenni and her baby-to-be as its due date quickly approaches!

Justin Timberlake Had The Ultimate TBT When ‘The Fat One’ Surprised Him Onstage Last Night

by 11 mins ago

Justin Timberlake celebrated TBT in the truest, boy-bandiest way possible last night when Joey Fatone surprised him onstage at his New York City show Thursday.

His NSYNC buddy had been partying up in the Hammerstein Ballroom balcony during the show until he disappeared, reappearing onstage during “Suit & Tie.” While Joey was singing with the Tennessee Kids, Justin was unaware, despite screams from the audience.

And after a few moments of oblivion, JT turned around, saw his ol’ NSYNC pal and said, “Let’s hear it for the Fat One!” Don’t act like you’ve never called Joey that (love you, Joey).

All in all, the surprise bumped up the fun during the high-energy concert.

While Joey served as one #TBT, Justin reminisced with another throwback when he posted an old-school picture of him as a toddler. Holding a baby banjo, a confounded JT joins a grown-up band, complete with stand-up bass, guitar and big-boy banjo. Guess he’s been a musician all along!

NKOTB Do Vegas, Cover Backstreet Boys & Channel Britney Spears At Their ‘After Dark’ Kickoff

by 24 mins ago

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Three decades into my hypothetical career as a recording artist, I’d probably be lucky to have a vanity label of designer crop tops for ferrets. And that’s where the New Kids On The Block and I differ — and I don’t just mean because their music careers are, like, actually real. It’s been 28 years since NKOTB released their self-titled debut album in 1986, and they’re still playing to packed venues.

On Thursday, July 10, the guys kicked off their four-night “New Kids On The Block: After Dark” run at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood. In case that place sounds familiar, that’s where Britney Spears’ “Britney: Piece Of Me” residency is hosted.

If the night was any indication, a full-on Vegas residency of their own wouldn’t be a bad idea for the all-man boy band — not that that’s any news to them. These four concerts are sort of a test run, a chance at “dipping our toe in,” as member Joey McIntyre put it in a pre-show interview. And as Donnie Wahlberg triumphantly announced midway through the performance, invoking 1989′s “Field Of Dreams”: “We f—ing built it, and you f—ing came!”

The massive, 25-song set list included tracks from all six of the guys’ full-length, non-holiday LPs (sorry ’bout it, Merry, Merry Christmas). And from “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This ...

Justin Bieber Has ‘Dinner For 2′ With Yovanna Ventura, While Selena Gomez Hangs With Girlfriends

by 26 mins ago

Justin Bieber isn’t exactly being shy with his relationship with model Yovanna Ventura.

On Thursday, the pop star posted yet another photo with his new gal pal. With his arm wrapped around her waist, Justin enjoyed “Dinner for 2 ;)” with Yovanna, who was wearing a nude-colored mini dress.

Yovanna also isn’t keeping this budding relationship under wraps, posting the same pic, in color, with a smiley face as the caption.

Justin and Yovanna seem to be spending quite a bit of time together this past week. Just two days ago, the “Confident” singer posted several photos alongside his supposed new love interest as she cuddled him from behind.

The pop star is making it pretty clear that he and ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez have hit the off button once again, despite being seen together recently.

But Selena, who has been posting some mysterious messages on Instagram, which fans believe are directed at Justin, seems to be in good spirits as she enjoys some time with friends in New York City.

‘The Simpsons’ Makeup Line Makes Us Something Something

by 1 min ago

The matriarch of “The Simpsons” isn’t exactly known as a makeup maven — because she’s a low-maintenance sort of lady, and also possibly because it’s hard to put on mascara when you have only eight eyelashes in total — but as the new MAC Simpsons Collection shows, she makes one heck of a cosmetic muse.

The special edition makeup line is stamped with Marge’s likeness, and includes everything from eyeshadow palettes (highlight: a deep cobalt “Beehive Blue”) to blush to a crazy-colored lip gloss collection. If you want the yellow pucker of a true Springfield native, a gloss in Nacho Cheese Explosion should get you on your way; however, the deep pink of Itchy & Scratchy & Sexy is quite the seductive shade, too. Also available: nail stickers featuring the show’s nuclear family, and a set of false eyelashes that mimic Marge’s signature staggered look.

A sneak peek pic of some of the makeup is already making its way around Twitter, but if you want to see the line in its entirety, beautygeeks has a full preview.

Those who want to go Simpsonian glam this month will have to head to San Diego Comic Con, where the line will be on sale July 26 only at the MAC Gaslamp store, 234 Fifth Avenue. (And yes, artists will be on hand to give desirous parties their very own “Marge makeover.)

If you can’t make it to Comic Con, don’t worry: the collection will get a wider distribution later this summer, becoming available ...

Rihanna And Miley Cyrus Get Shout-Outs On French Montana’s ‘R&B Chicks’

by 4 mins ago

Guess it’s too soon for French Montana to be making songs about reality TV stars? His latest release, “R&B Chicks” features Wale and Fabolous, and the title pretty much says it all.

The three rappers run through a slew of names, shouting out all of the lovely ladies they’d like to shack up with. Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Tinashe, Ashanti, Christina Milian — and even Madonna, are namedropped.

Wale also give a special wink to Mary J. Blige rapping, “I’m young enough to be your son but what’s the 411?” And we cringed a little.

French is currently working on his Mac and Cheese 4 album, which he’s planning to drop in November. Expect to hear collaborations with Kanye West on the project. This week we got new photos of him and his lady, Khloe Kardashian, on set of his “Don’t Panic” video.

Hear French talk about his upcoming work with ‘Ye, in the video below.

6 Reasons (Not Counting Sharks) The Ocean Should Terrify You

by 15 mins ago

Now that it’s summer, your friends will try to convince you to go to the beach and get your feet wet. Whatever you do, don’t listen to them. The ocean does not want you in it. Our ancestors crawled out of it for a reason. (They might not even have crawled out; they could’ve been kicked out, because the ocean is not one to suffer fools.) If you cave in to peer pressure, at least be prepared for what could be waiting for you…

There are stingrays that weigh 800 lbs.

This creature, which looks like a science-fiction nightmare, usually lives at depths of 1,000 feet, but fisherman Mark Quartiano (who called it “a big, gigantic whipping stingray — it’s a dinosaur”) caught it while fishing at only 500 feet. Sure, you’re not going that deep, but considering that 95% of the ocean is unexplored, why risk going in at all?

Jellyfish populations are increasing exponentially all over the planet.

They aren’t just stinging people dumb enough to go to the beach — they’re causing nuclear power plants to shut down worldwide. (“Dawn Of The Planet Of The Jellyfish,” anyone?) Some scientists are worried that jellyfish populations will replace other fish entirely, along with whales and even penguins. Take the hint. Get out the water.

Sometimes the ocean likes to turn red.

7 ‘Harry Potter’ Stories That Have To Be In A Sequel

by 31 mins ago

Is “Harry Potter” set for a comeback? Maybe. Possibly. Possibly not.

Either way, one thing’s for sure: J.K. Rowling’s new “Harry Potter” story, a fictional account of Dumbledore’s Army reuniting for the first time as 30-something adults, has energized the “Potter” fandom with a kind of excitement that hasn’t been seen since the final books and films were released. The story leaves one to wonder whether or not “Potter” will return with some sequel stories in the future, and if so, what those stories might be.

Well, we have some ideas! If Rowling and/or Warner Bros. return to the “Potter” well with new adventures for Harry, Hermione and Ron, here are seven stories we would love to see:

1. The Quidditch World Cup

Hey, it’s what started this whole firestorm this week, isn’t it? The Rita Skeeter story is enticing for so many reasons, not the least of which is … well, what happens next? The last time we saw the Quidditch World Cup, disaster struck. Could we see a similar Death Eater invasion with the 34-year-old Harry, Hermione and Ron left to battle it out?

2. Harry Potter, Auror At Large

Perhaps the coolest detail of the Skeeter story is Harry’s time working with the Ministry of Magic as an auror. He sports a new nasty scar on his cheek, and silver threads in his hair. Clearly, there’s more magic and mayhem in Harry’s life beyond Voldemort’s demise. Let’s follow Harry on one of his deadly adventures as ...

Andy Serkis Reveals The Most Important Shot Of ‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’

by 17 mins ago

With Reporting by Josh Horowitz

From the very first scene of the film, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” makes one thing very clear: This movie belongs to the apes.

Following an opening credits sequence inspired by the closing credits of “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” the first shot of “Dawn” is a long, lingering look at Caesar, the genetically-modified ape at the heart of the franchise. And to hear actor Andy Serkis tell it, there was no better or more important way to begin the film.

“[Director Matt Reeves] was very enamored with what Rupert Wyatt had created on ‘Rise,’ particularly the emotionality of Caesar,” he told MTV’s Josh Horowitz. “That’s why he wanted to make a Caesar-centric movie, an emotional journey seen through the eyes of Caesar. That’s why it makes total sense to open on this ape, ten years later, now leading a community and trying to create the boundaries and laws and structure of that community, knowing that humanity has all but faded away.”

Of course, humanity isn’t completely eradicated when “Dawn” begins. There’s a small pocket of civilization still struggling to survive in San Francisco, just south of the apes’ forest community. When the two come into contact via a violent inciting incident, Caesar finds himself torn between two worlds.

“Humanity was a huge part of his life,” said Serkis. “He has to wrangle with [the return of humans], as well as keeping control of the apes, but listening to them. He’s a ...
