There Was A Marvel Reunion At Wimbledon This Weekend

by 31 mins ago

The Wimbledon men’s finals this weekend were essentially an excuse for our favorite Marvel movie stars to join forces for a slew of epic photo ops. We honestly couldn’t dream cast this one any better.

Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Jackman, Bradley Cooper and Chris Hemsworth donned their preppiest duds to descend upon London’s famed All England Club for the tournament, and it has us imagining an “Avengers”-style spinoff that somehow also involves Prince William, Kate Middleton, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

While we sit back and wait to rake in the big bucks thanks to that stellar idea, enjoy your favorite action heroes taking in some tennis, below.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” star Bradley Cooper and girlfriend Suki Waterhouse ponder WWRRD (What Would Rocket Raccoon Do)?

Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, and wife Elsa Pataky: cute couple or cutest couple ever?

It seems Hugh Jackman’s unkempt “Wolverine” locks have migrated from his head to his face.

Samuel L. Jackson, looking impossibly dapper in seersucker. Nick Fury would approve.

We’re just going to assume Jackson is on a S.H.I.E.L.D. recruiting mission, here. Welcome to the Marvel Universe, David and Victoria Beckham!

A Bunch Of Elaines Had A ‘Seinfeld’ Dance-Off In Brooklyn

by 3 mins ago

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has, no doubt, had a huge impact on popular culture. She was on “Saturday Night Live,” she kills it as Selina Meyer on HBO’s “Veep,” and she was — of course! — Elaine Benes on “Seinfeld,” that bastion of nineties culture. But perhaps of all her accomplishments and everything she’s given us, it is, perhaps, her dancing skills that shall outlast them all.

The Elaine Dance.

Which is exactly why, that boogie down of terrible beauty, was paid homage in New York on Saturday Night when the Brooklyn Cyclones baseball team hosted an “Elaine Dance-Off” in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary. (The whole night was Seinfeld themed.)

Thankfully, intelligent game-goers with smartphones did what any heroic person would do: they recorded the dances and uploaded them onto the Internet. Who says Americans don’t look out for one another, eh?

As for the winner? That would be this Elaine — and it only takes a few seconds of viewing to see why:

Man, we’re feeling ready to gr-oo-oove now, aren’t you?

Too much exuberance for one person. Follow her on Twitter @alicialutes.

Nicole Kidman Is Paranoid And Beautiful In The “Before I Go To Sleep” Trailer

by 10 mins ago

The first trailer for the upcoming Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth-fronted “Before I Go to Sleep” is out, and it basically looks like “Memento” made a baby with “Vertigo” (for the record, that’s some seriously prime offspring).

The mystery thriller is based on author S.J. Watson’s best-selling novel of the same name, which details the plight of a woman who wakes up with chronic amnesia and must attempt to discover her attempted murderer. Firth stars as Kidman’s husband (is it just us, or does he not seem trustworthy?) and Mark Strong is her mad scientist-esque doctor.

Among all the Hitchcockian violin cues and blue-tinted bleakness, it seems pretty clear that Kidman is doing her darndest to put in a tour de force performance and Firth is putting more and more distance between himself and that beloved Jane Austen hero he once embodied. It’s cool, Colin – we like you very much, just as you are.

Will you catch “Before I Go to Sleep” when it hits theaters September 12?

Drake Was Too Sick To Perform At Wireless Festival, So Kanye Covered For Him

by 19 mins ago

Sure, sure, everybody is going to just report that Kanye West went on another rant at Wireless Festival last night. But honestly? They’re focusing on the wrong thing. What’s way more interesting is that Kanye played three Drake songs during last night’s set.

Also, the fact that Kanye was covering for Drake.

Kanye already headlined London’s Wireless Festival on Friday night, but when Drake was sick enough to cancel his own Saturday night headlining slot last minute, Kanye stepped in. Considering how often people accuse Kanye of being selfish, this was a pretty selfless act.

And the situation is a little funny given Drake’s recent boasts on Lil Wayne‘s first single off Tha Carter V. “I’m the only one to get the job done / I don’t know a n—- that could cover for me,” Drake sings at the beginning of “Believe Me.” If there’s anyone at all who can cover for Drake—it’s Kanye.

Playing a medley of “Trophies,” “We Made It,” and “All Me,” Kanye also shouted out Drake. “My homeboy Drake can’t be here but we still gotta rep for him tonight,” he said.

These gestures are definitely further proof of their growing friendship, which was cemented when Kanye appeared at OVO Fest last year. Drake also thanked Kanye on Instagram late last night.

“Man I appreciate Kanye playing “Trophies” at Wireless so much,” Drake wrote. “I want to be at all the shows more than anything in the world right ...

Miley Cyrus Takes Us Behind The (Topless) Scenes Of Her Latest Tattoo

by 25 mins ago

It’s like we were right there with her, thanks to Miley Cyrus’ meticulous Instagram documentation of her holiday weekend – she posted 43 photos between July 4th and this morning!

The colorful accessory shots and rowdy party scenes (not to mention a silly snap of pal Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips wearing a pair of pom-pom-encrusted flip flops) were punctuated by some pretty racy topless shots. To be fair, they were illustrating the latest entry in her illustrious collection of body art, which she now shares (in both design and location) with Coyne and her pal Katy Weaver – and it’s a tribute to her late pooch Floyd.

It all started innocently enough, with your standard “tat selfie”…

…and then it escalated pretty quickly, to some cheeky firework censorship…

…a better view (with omnipresent tongue, of course)…

…a second-hand selfie, as her pal gets the same ink…

…and, voila! Weaver, Coyne and Cyrus = a trio of Floyd tats!

Here’s another, for good measure.

And a close-up (we dig the dog-speak riff on those Beatles lyrics!)

As of this morning, Cyrus looks to be resting quietly with her new puppy Emu.

We think it’s kind of sweet that Miley’s friends joined her in honoring her dearly departed dog – would you pay permanent tribute to a pal’s pup? Let us know in the comments!

Pink Floyd Announce First New Music In Twenty Years

by 24 mins ago

Although last year saw the return of groups like Neutral Milk Hotel, The Pixies and My Bloody Valentine with new music, it still comes as a surprise that Pink Floyd will have a new album out in October. This year is the 20th anniversary of their last album, 1994′s Division Bell.

David Gilmour’s wife, Polly Samson, shared information about the new music via a Tweet last night, adding that it will be based on 1994 sessions with the late Richard Wright and that it’s his “swansong and very beautiful.”

The record will be called The Endless River, and Samson’s announcement sparked another, from singer Durga McBroom-Hudson, who toured with the band during the eighties and nineties. In a Facebook post, Durga confirmed her involvement with the project and shared a picture from the recording sessions.

Durga McBroom-Hudson's Facebook

“The recording did start during The Division Bell sessions (and yes, it was the side project originally titled The Big Spliff that [Pink Floyd's drummer] Nick Mason spoke about), which is why there are Richard Wright tracks on it.” she wrote in a further Facebook comment on the photo.

“But David and Nick have gone in and done a lot more since then. It was originally to be a completely instrumental recording, but I came in last December and sang on a few tracks. David then expanded on my backing vocals and has done a lead on at least one of them. That’s ...

Jimmy Kimmel In A Leotard Dancing To Sia Will Make Your Day

by 29 mins ago

Ever wanted to see Jimmy Kimmel pirouette while donning a blonde wig and nude leotard? It’s your lucky day! The late night talk show host has seen fit to make all the dreams you never knew you had come true with his latest behind the scenes video – and he dragged co-host Guillermo along for the rond de jambe-filled romp.

It may be the song of the summer, but Sia’s “Chandelier” also boasts a choreography-filled music video starring 11-year-old “Dance Moms” phenom Maddie Ziegler. Kimmel invited Ziegler to teach him and Guillermo, “how to fly like a bird through the night and swing from the chandelier.”

The duo met Ziegler on the infamous “Chandelier” set (“Your room is very scary, by the way,” Kimmel observed), where she promptly laid out the moves to the dazed-looking duo. They also received a lesson in making “crazy eyes.” “If you can’t do the choreography, then you just have to sell it with your face,” Ziegler wisely noted.

What followed – each man’s attempt at Ziegler’s amazing moves – leaves us short of words.

Is it just us, or did Guillermo totally blow Kimmel out of the water with his “dancer’s face” and surprisingly graceful intro?

For means of comparison, here’s the original “Chandelier” video:

Want To See Tom Hanks’ No-No Zone? Just Watch ‘Forrest Gump’

by 2 mins ago

Ahh, “Forrest Gump.” The 1994 classic won the Oscar trifecta of Best Picture, Best Director and, of course, Best Actor for Tom Hanks. Hanks, as the simple-minded Forrest, taught us that life is like a box of chocolates, that stupid is as stupid does and that there are more varieties of shrimp than one could even dream of.

The movie, which came out 20 years ago today on July 6, 1994, also taught us another lesson, one that we probably didn’t even realize we learned. It taught us what Tom Hanks’ pubic hair looks like.

Yeah, really. Get ready to have some nightmares about America’s Dad. Oh, did you see “Captain Phillips” and cry? Get ready to cry again, for totally different reasons.

Oh, and it goes without saying that things are going to get borderline NSFW up in here, even if it does turn out to be a merkin.

And the best news is you don’t have to own this bad boy on DVD to check out Hanx’s downthere, it’s streaming on Netflix and we took the liberty of screencapping the play-by-play for you. The action occurs approximately 24 minutes in, immediately after Forrest is on the news for helping a girl with her books when his school is integrated.

Things start out innocently enough.

Who’s that? Oh, it’s Forrest. Hi, Forrest.

fg2Paramount

Wait, Forrest. What’s. Your. Oh, my.

Is everyone OK with this?

Celebrate The ‘Forrest Gump’ 20-Year Anniversary With This By-The-Numbers Tribute

by 3 mins ago

It’s been 20 years since the simple but lovable Forrest Gump first sat on that bus stop bench and told his heartwarming tale of love, ping pong, getting shot in the buttocks, running, accidentally stumbling upon historical moments, and life lessons.

The romantic-comedy-drama has since become an American classic and will get another run on the IMAX screen in September, but until then, grab a box of chocolates and check out this “Forrest Gump” by-the-numbers infographic, because I’m sure you’ve been wondering: Just how many ways can Bubba cook shrimp?

“That’s all I have to say about that.”

9 Things You Probably Won’t See During Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz Tour Special

by 29 mins ago

Smilers, you’re about to get a front-row seat to Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz Tour, and you don’t even have to leave your house.

Tonight (July 6) at 9 p.m. ET, NBC is airing a two-hour, behind-the-scenes concert special, “Miley Cyrus: Bangerz Tour,” which the “Wrecking Ball” singer has been hard at work editing. The show will follow the pop star backstage and onstage as she performed her Bangerz hits in front of an adoring crowd in Barcelona, Spain, last month.

Miley’s tour has been one of the most talked-about events of the year, full of crazy costumes, mind-boggling props and lots of WTF moments. And as anyone with access to a computer knows, the tour hasn’t exactly been PG (she did warn you with a Parental Advisory notice) — from riding a gigantic banana to rants about smoking weed, so it’ll be interesting to see what gets left on the cutting room floor.

Before you tune in, we decided to revisit the last few months of the Banergz Tour, making some bold predictions about what you probably won’t see during the Miley special … even though we’re actually keeping our fingers crossed that all of these moments make the final cut.

1. Miley Grinding A Banana

2. Or An Inflatable Penis

This was at a separate show in London, but you never know what she will bring on the Bangerz stage.

3. Or A Car
