17 Transformers We Need In The ‘Age Of Extinction’ Sequel

by 16 mins ago

After four feature-length films, the “Transformers” series has offered up more Autobots and Decepticons than you can possibly keep track of. But that doesn’t mean the franchise is running out of ‘bots to bring into the mix. With more than three decades of “Transformers” material to mine, there are still countless Autobots, Decepticons, Maximals, Predacons and more to introduce.

With that in mind, here are 17 of the Transformers we want to see in the franchise’s future:

1. Arcee

She was in “Revenge of the Fallen,” but it doesn’t count. We can forget that. The most prominent female Transformer by miles and miles was not given her due. Give her another shot, Bay.

2. Astrotrain

He’s a massive space train that transports Decepticons all over the galaxy. What more do you need to know?

3. Blackarachnia

From the “Beast Wars” continuity, Blackarachnia is a former Predacon who eventually aligns with the Maximals. She’s deadly, takes no nonsense, and brings a killer instinct that the movie Autobots could really use.

4. Blaster

The Autobots’ answer to Soundwave. One of Prime’s best bros.

5. Cyclonus

The warrior.

6. Dinobot

Grimlock and the other Dinobots had zero personality in “Age of Extinction,” so let’s try this again: Introduce the “Beast Wars” era Dinobot into the mix, and have him kick all of the Decepticon/Predacon tail — or die trying.

7. Hot Rod

But no Rodimus Prime, please. And make sure he blows up, Bay.

8. Kup

One of few Autobots who can buy ...

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter Turns 10: Why We Still Can’t Stop Listening

by 1 hour ago

Before we’re gifted with Lil Wayne‘s Tha Carter V, it’s time to look back on the beginning of the hip-hop staple: Tha Carter, which was released 10 years ago today.

Not only was Weezy’s fourth solo album a platinum-selling hit, it signified a major turning point for the once-kid rapper and the label that’s he’s called home since 12 years old, Cash Money Records. Over the course of 21 tracks (minus a couple of skits), Wayne displayed an elevated level of lyricism and began to shine brighter than any Cash Money star before him.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Weezy’s stand-out, we’ve narrowed it down to the 10 things we love the most about Tha Carter.

1. The Title
Not only did Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. get personal using his last name as partial inspiration for the album title, he also threw a nod to Wesley Snipes’ 1991 street classic “New Jack City.” In the film, Snipes’ fictional Nino Brown sold drugs out of a building called the Carter.

2. The Album Cover
Before Tha Carter Weezy used an over-the-top art style popularized by Pen and Pixel Graphics for his album covers. In 2004 he switched to a simple more natural photo which fans immediately connected to.

3. Mannie Fresh
Lil Wayne has worked with a ton of notable and accomplished producers, but there is something about his collaborations with Mannie Fresh that we just love. Fresh didn’t do every track on Tha Carter, but 14 out of 21 isn’t bad. ...

Ariana Grande Announces New Album ‘My Everything,’ Teases ‘Break Free’ Snippet

by 6 mins ago

Ariana Grande loves using Twitter to interact with her fans, and tonight, she used it to announce her new album’s title and release date. The album is called My Everything and it will be out on August 25th.

And there’s still more!

She also tweeted a link to an exclusive interview with Ryan Seacrest, where she talks about everything leading up to the record, and how at first, she wasn’t going to include “Problem” on it.

Ariana shared that if her fans pre-order the record, they’ll get access to a stream of her performance at the iHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party last night, which of course, includes renditions of some brand new songs live for the first time.

She also told Seacrest that there will be another collaboration with Big Sean on the record for a song called “Best Mistake.”

This news came right after she decided to share a snippet of the new single she’d been teasing. “Break Free” is a collaboration with Zedd, the superpower EDM producer behind “Clarity” featuring another of our favorite popstars Foxes , which won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording in 2013.

She’s been teasing the single’s sci-fi tilt, and the brief clips she posted on Instagram reveals the song’s big, synthy pop sheen while Ariana scrambles in a white futuristic backdrop.

And don’t forget, we’re bringing back TRL just for Ariana. It’s going to be a good summer.

Tywin Lannister Is the Perfect Ugly, Scary Vampire In The ‘Dracula Untold’ Trailer

by 12 mins ago

Spoiler alert: This Dracula story is not the Bram Stoker Victorian version. It is an attempt at retelling of Dracula’s origins, turning them into a fantastic, action-packed plot set in a medieval backdrop.

“Dracula Untold” will star Luke Evans as Vlad Tepes, a man who becomes a vampire in an effort to save his family from the greedy sultan Mehmed, played by Dominic Cooper.

But who’s the chilling monster that helps Tepes transform into a blood-sucking superhero? None other than Charles Dance, or Tywin Lannister for those still pining over the end of this season of “Games of Thrones.”

But there are no coffins in the trailer, and in the trailer, Tepes encounters the ancient vampire Tywin Lannister in a cave that looks vaguely like it belongs in Middle Earth.

Apparently, the team behind Dracula isn’t at all afraid to take from other successful productions—the trailer is soundtracked by Lorde‘s cover of Tears for Fears‘ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” that was recorded for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” MTV premiered Lorde’s cover of the track back in November, and while it certainly matches the film’s ominous plot, it’s still an oddly recycled choice.

“Dracula Untold” will be released on October 17, because duh, two weeks before Halloween is definitely vampire season.

MTV Weekend Editor. Acts like Madonna but listens to Merle.

Jessica Simpson’s Fragrance Ad Looks Honeymoon Ready

by 3 mins ago

While Jessica Simpson may be getting ready for her nuptials to Eric Johnson on July 4, the ad for her eponymous fragrance has her seeming honeymoon-ready, and she’s not shying away from the camera for this #hot shot.

With a smoldering gaze and a come-hither pout, the 33-year-old mother of two irresistibly beckons in the ad’s photo, which was taken by photographer Gilles Bensimon. The singer’s nude, low-cut attire leaves just a little to the imagination, thanks to some wispy feathers and crystals, and the perfume bottle complements Jessica’s elegant look with its graceful gold top and signature.

Jessica Simpson The Signature Fragrance will be available in August.

Eminem’s Daughter Graduates High School With Honors

by 35 mins ago

Props to Hailie Jade Scott, the daughter of Eminem and ex-wife Kimberly Mathers, who graduated Summa Cum Laude from Chippewa Valley High School in Clinton Township, Michigan this month. To achieve Summa Cum Laude, the school requires students maintain a 3.9 grade point or higher. According to the school’s newsletter, she also received an Academic Excellence Award and a Department of Psychology Award.

In the newsletter, the 18-year-old who inspired “Hailie’s Song” credits her parents as most the influential people in her life. “My mother and father are because they pushed me to be the person I am and have given me all the support to achieve what I have,” she wrote. Even after the intense subject matter that her dad has addressed in his raps, it’s incredible that she still has strong relationships with both her parents.

Eminem posted a photo on Instagram of Hailie at her graduation a few weeks ago on June 11.

Haile may not be following her father’s rapping trajectory in the musical sense, but she certainly has his drive. Her listed extracurriculars included National Honor Society, Art Club, Key Club, volleyball and Student Council.

This fall, she’s headed to Michigan State University, where she plans to pursue either psychology or entrepreneurship.
