Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan was rushed to the hospital Tuesday night (May 6) after suffering two seizures during a music video shoot, TMZ reports.

Earlier tonight, the recent selection for the 2014 XXL Freshman cover was reportedly shooting the visuals for “Walk Thru,” off of his I Promise I Will Never Stop Going In mixtape, in Piedmont Park, Atlanta, with Compton spitter Problem before suffering back-to-back convulsions.

The report says that the “Type of Way” MC fell to the ground and smashed his head severely before paramedics were called to the scene to take him to an area hospital for emergency treatment.

Quan’s condition is unknown at press time.

Grab your beach towels and popcorn, movie fans! “Spring Breakers,” one of 2013′s most polarizing and provocative films, is getting a sequel.

“Spring Breakers: The Second Coming” (a working title) is now under development by Paris-based production powerhouse Wild Bunch and, according to Screen Daily, already has a screenplay in place written by Irvine Welsh (“Trainspotting”).

Unfortunately, controversial writer/director Harmony Korine won’t be reprising his role as director this time out. Jonas Akerlund, a Swedish filmmaker with a music video background (Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” and “Telephone”), has been tapped to sit in the director’s chair for this one.

“Spring Breakers,” which was centered around a pack of bored college girls who spring break in St. Petersburg, Florida, and take untold risks with a bizarre local named Alien to have a good time, was shot on a $5 million budget, but turned a profit with a $31 million worldwide gross.

Wild Bunch will seek to sell the film at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, describing the movie with the logline, “the Spring Breakers doing battle with an extreme militant Christian sect that attempts to convert them.”

“It’s not a direct sequel although there are allusions to some of the characters in the original,” said Wild Bunch co-chief Vincent Maraval, adding there will be a mix of new and old cast in the production.

No word yet on which of the original cast members will return for the next round of drugs, crime and violence at the beach.

Those “sequins” she’s talking about? She could be referring to any of the designer outfits she’s been previewing in the lead-up to the tour, including frocks and jumpsuits from Valentino, Fausto Puglisi Todd Thomas and Di$count Universe.

Katy will be making her way around Europe and then heading to the States at the end of June.

Twenty-eight years after its theatrical debut, the cult classic Spike Lee joint “She’s Gotta Have It” is coming to the small screen.

According to Deadline, the seasoned auteur has signed a development deal with Showtime to produce and direct a half-hour episodic version of the 1986 film.

The series will feature an updated, contemporary take on the characters the
“Oldboy” director brought to life three decades ago. It will explore provocative views on race, gender, sexuality, relationships and — a tense subject for Brooklynites — gentrification.

“She’s Gotta Have It” was Lee’s debut feature film and was shot in just 12 days during the summer of 1985 on a shoestring budget of $175,000. The movie, which starred Tracy Camila Johns as a sexually independent black woman juggling three suitors, went on to gross over $7 million at the box office.

Lee’s success at the time paved the way for other African-American filmmakers that followed, while also serving as a springboard to the burgeoning independent film movement of the ’80s.

No details have been released about the originally scripted comedy’s casting or when it will debut.

It looks like the rumors that surfaced in late February are true: Josh Boone, who will soon be mobbed by hordes of sobbing teens when “The Fault in Our Stars” debuts on June 6, will indeed direct the remake of “The Stand.”

While chatting with MTV News about the upcoming “Fault,” Boone casually mentioned the unconfirmed news.

“The emotional connection that they have to that book ["Fault"] is so deep I think a lot about,” Boone said. “The reason I can understand that sort of fandom is when I was their age, I loved Stephen King with all of my heart. I wrote him letters when i was a kid, he wrote me back, and sent me some signed books. I put him in my first movie and now I’m adapting and directing ‘The Stand’ for Warner Bros.

“When I was a kid, his books meant that much to me, so I totally understand the obsession. you have things that root themselves in you. The things that you love as a kid are the hardest to shake. You will always love them.”

What do you get when you mix Ed Sheeran and Usher? Musical magic…or at least that’s what we hope.

While promoting his upcoming album, Multiply, on BBC Radio 1, Sheeran divulged that he and the “Good Kisser” singer recently cut a track together after bonding last month, calling the meet-up a “random experience.”

“I was at a Passover dinner and sat next to Usher, it was quite random. I met him once before, but never enough to be like ‘Yo what’s up man?’ but he went over to me with his phone and he’s like ‘Yo check it out’ and he downloaded ‘Sing,’ ” Sheeran recalled. Miley Cyrus is putting the rumors to bed and becoming fully transparent before her London concert Tuesday night (May 6) — her first show since emerging from her hospital bed.

During a press conference at the O2 Arena in the U.K., Miley laid it all out for reporters, setting the record straight about her absence.

“I didn’t have a drug overdose. I took some sh––y antibiotics that a doctor gave me for a sinus infection and I had a reaction,” she said.

The “We Can’t Stop” singer had to postpone eight dates of her Bangerz Tour due to the infection in April and May, making tonight’s performance her first since April 13 in Columbus, Ohio.

“You have no idea how ready I am. There is nothing I would rather not do than lay in a bed for two weeks. It was the most miserable two weeks of my life,” she said, according to People.

As for her recovery, she has it all taken care of.

“I’m probably the only one on this tour who doesn’t drink or smoke before a show, as I take this really seriously,” she said. “It’s almost like being an athlete being up here, because if someone was f––ed up, they definitely couldn’t do my show.”

2 Chainz used to call himself the Codeine Cowboy, but now those days are apparently over because the star rapper says he’s quit drinking lean.

“I don’t even drank no more,” the “No Lie” MC told MTV News last Wednesday, in the midst of explaining the lyrics from his new EP Freebase, which dropped online on Monday.

The revelation came in the form of a tangent. First, Chainz was trying to explain to us how the rap flow associated with popular rap trio Migos comes from Memphis pioneers Three Six Mafia. While saluting the new generation of rappers and noting all of the drugs that they glorify, like Molly and Xanax, Deuce told us about the change he made with his own habits.

“I haven’t drunk since New Year’s Eve; that was my New Year’s resolution,” he said. “You know that I have stomach issues and everything, so for me, I’m trying to get off of all medicine dealing with my stomach. I take medicine every day that people don’t know about. So for me, it wasn’t just about me enjoying or — basically if you do too much of anything, it’s abusive.”

Lean, syrup or drank are all just slang terms for the addictive mixture of a soft drink, plus promethazine and codeine-based cough syrup. VH1′s “ Love & Hip Hop Atlanta ” returned for its third season Monday night, but in spite of the show’s usual salacious dirt, oddball hookups and the need for extra security to keep castmembers from “putting hands” on each other, all anyone seemed to want to see was the story line that revolved around Mimi Faust’s sex tape .

Did it leak or was it intentionally released on the Interwebs for self-promotional purposes?

And how was Mimi — who has so far portrayed herself as being above all things “ratchet” — going to explain her, um, shower rod acrobatics?

For her part, Mimi did her best Meryl Streep impression, summoning crocodile tears when she “discovered” that her sex tape with boyfriend Nikko Smith had “leaked” to a popular gossip site. Wait, wasn’t she supposed to have kicked Mr. Nikko to the curb last season?

Not surprisingly, Mimi was dubbed a porn star by her fellow castmembers, who warned her that Nikko was less than trustworthy, especially since he sold their bedroom/bathroom/shower-rod footage to the highest bidder.
