‘Walking Dead’: 17 Questions About ‘Alone’

"What about Bob?"

If that was your burning question entering the latest episode of then you must have walked away satisfied. This week's hour, titled "Alone," was very heavy on Bob Stookey, the former medic and alcoholic newbie on the run with Maggie and Sasha. "Alone" began with Bob, and nearly ended with him — but there was plenty of Daryl and Beth to enjoy as well, if you didn't get enough of them in last week's hour.

As is the case with most "Walking Dead" episodes, "Alone" left us with several burning questions. Seventeen of them, to be precise — and here they are:

1. Where's Wallace? Sorry, I had to.

2. What's Bob's safe word? Clearly, it's not "ow."

3. How awesome does Beth look with a crossbow? Pretty awesome. The Daryl Dixon School of Marksmanship produces strong students!

4. How would you prefer to travel: On Daryl Dixon's motorcycle, or on Daryl Dixon? The choice is obvious here, people. Piggyback, every time.

5. How many people have held Daryl's hand before? Other than Beth, I'm betting not too many, based on what we now know about the bowman's past.

6. What good reason does Sasha have not to go in search of Terminus? I can't think of a one. It makes all the sense in the world to seek out sanctuary, when there are no other leads. I like Sasha, but lord, I just don't understand her thinking sometimes.

7. Did anyone else half-expect Nathaniel Fisher Sr. to pop up with some beyond-the-grave advice in that funeral parlor? Or am I the only "Six ...

‘True Detective’ Finale Closes The Book On A Modern Television Classic

In its final hour, "True Detective" served both aspects of its personality — the mystery of Dora Lange's murder and the lives of Rustin Cohle and Martin Hart — without ever betraying the series' soul. The Yellow King, the Man with the Scars, Carcosa, the Tuttles, Reggie Ledoux, Marie Fontenot and every other string on the cork board pushed the story forward for eight hours, but in the end, the ultimate, most satisfying conclusion amounted to nothing more than two men having a conversation in the parking lot of a hospital.

The answer to the central mystery of "True Detective" was simple, even by the standards of a police procedural. Errol Childress was really nothing more than a lunatic capable of unspeakable evils. Sure, he had connections to a senator and a powerful pastor, but what Errol did to Dora Lange and the rest of his victims was just the workings of a messed up dude.

And it never had to be anything more than that. (My sincerest apologies go out to the Lovecraftian conspiracy theorists out there. Perhaps Cthulhu and the "Cloverfield" monster for #TrueDetectiveSeason2.) The writings of Robert W. Chambers and "The King in Yellow" added color to the scenery and painted a layer of dread over the proceedings, but what made "True Detective" a week-to-week phenomenon was always these characters and the performances by Woody Harrelson and Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey.

If there is a complaint to be had, it has to be about the beginning of the final episode and the time spent exclusively with Errol ...

‘Girls’: Every Soul-Shattering Thing Marnie’s Annoying Friend Said

We all have that friend. The up-talking, obnoxious, soul-shatteringly entitled one who somehow seems to succeed despite all odds. (No? Don't we? Look harder, you'll find them.) Or even when this person says something that sounds like a rational sentence, they immediately follow it up with an incongruous and totally unacceptable remark.

What we're trying to say is, holy eff, isn't Marnie's gallery gal-pal Soojin just the living, breathing worst? For posterity (and for authenticity in our Halloween costume, because we're so totally dressing up as this chick in October), we've recorded the most cringe-worthy Soojin remarks from the March 9 episode of "Girls," "Role Play."

» "So are you in for a little more? Because it's an important investment in our space's future. My appointment just got here. Okay. Love you. Bye, Daddy."

» "Opening Cemetery. Their prices will be the death of me."

» "Sorry, we're in such disarray. There just like aren't enough hours in the day."

» "I can't be a woman and a girlfriend and a gallerist and an electronic musician and all these things all at once. It's too much for one person. I love your beanie."

» "Totally, all of that. I've been saying all along that what I really need is an assistant who's more qualified than I am."

» "I mean, my best homo friend Jeremy is already gallery director, so I thought yeah, you'd start off as an assistant. My assistant."

» "Two-four, girl. But for the cred and intrigue of the gallery I'm gonna tell people I'm 22. So."

‘The Walking Dead’: Predictions For Tonight’s Episode ‘Alone’

Don't watch alone. It's scary. Do watch "The Walking Dead" episode "Alone," with people. Still scary, but less so.

"Alone" is the name of the game on Sunday's (March 9) latest installment of the zombie series, with Maggie Greene continuing the search for her missing husband Glenn, while Daryl Dixon and Beth Greene deal with some headaches of their own.

What exactly are we going to see tonight? Your bet is as good as ours, but here are a few predictions for the events of "Alone."

1. Tonight will be the Glenn and Maggie show, minus Glenn.
From our chat with Lauren Cohan last week, we already know that Maggie will have "a completely insane" episode tonight. She's going to do her best to reconnect with husband Glenn, even if we don't think it'll quite work out.

A Maggie-Glenn reunion is absolutely in the show's future, sure, but emphasis on future. The writers want us and them to sweat it out before any flames are rekindled. It's going to be a long and lonely road before Maggie and Glenn reconnect; but when they do meet up, it'll be worth the wait.

2. Tonight will be the Bob and Sasha show, plus booze.
While we wait for Glenn and Maggie to get back together, keep an eye on a new budding romance between Sasha and Bob. Tyreese's sister and the prison group's infamous boozehound looked to be growing closer together when we saw them last in "Inmates." Can we expect the sparks to continue to fly?

I'm betting that, yes, we'll get some forward momentum ...

‘Oculus’ Producer Jason Blum Never Wants You To Look In A Mirror Again

How better to premiere a scary movie about the way we interact with one of the objects most prevalent in our lives, than with a midnight premiere at SXSW? Granted, you won't see a lot of mirrors being hawked at the tech-obsessed convention, but producer Jason Blum knew that his new film "

"I love South By because people are more relaxed here, and people are a little more off guard," Blum told MTV News in advance of the premiere. "They say things and react more freely than Sundance, or Cannes. I love the feel of this festival."

Blum is no stranger to the midnight SXSW horror screening, either. The prolific producer has stewarded mega-hits like "Paranormal Activity," "The Purge," and "Insidious;" the last of which had a successful midnight premiere at the convention in 2011.

"Oculus" is the latest jewel in Blum's scary crown, starring Karen Gillan (of the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Doctor Who") as a woman who gets mixed into a terrifying situation involving a possibly supernatural mirror. And like "Insidious," "Oculus" got its premiere at SXSW to a packed late-night crowd of excited horror fans.

"I don't like to repeat, but hopefully we'll have a different but successful premiere with this movie," Blum added. "One of my favorite things about making horror movies is, the first time you screen them in front of an audience, it's very fun to hear people audibly react to the work you put into a movie. You don't wonder at the end of the movie whether it worked or not."

‘Chef’ Director Jon Favreau Would Have Directed ‘Star Wars’ If Anyone Had Actually Asked

Jon Favreau isn't directing "Star Wars," but he would have if someone had just asked him. Or at least, that's what MTV News learned when we caught up with the director/writer/actor at SXSW while he was plugging his newest, non-space set film "

For context, back in 2012 it was rumored that the front-runners to direct "Star Wars: Episode VII" were J.J. Abrams, Matthew Vaughan, and Jon Favreau. Favreau is no stranger to the franchise, having voiced a recurring role in the animated "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."

But to direct a feature is a large leap, and even for one experienced with scifi from his time on "Iron Man" and "Cowboys and Aliens." But as it turns out, those rumors were far from true.

"I didn't go after it," Favreau said, "but it's one of those things that, as people would say they weren't going to do it, and as there were questions coming my way as to my availability... I was really scared of the idea that nobody was gonna [do it], and so if they had come to me, I don't know how you say no to that thing."

For better or for worse, Favreau wasn't officially offered the gig and instead it went to J.J. Abrams, who is currently prepping the movie for release in December, 2015. Luckily, Favreau couldn't be happier with the choice.

"He's great because he works with the old generation, and he works with the new generation," Favreau continued. "You see what he did with 'Star Trek.' He kept the fans satisfied, because ...
