2 Chainz And French Montana Debut New Song ‘A-Rod’: Listen

NEW YORK2 Chainz has a lot of hits and a lot of friends and he used some of them on Wednesday night when his 2 Good 2 Be Tru Tour rolled into New York City's Roseland Ballroom.

The night began with sets from Chicago's Cap 1 and then New Orleans singer August Alsina. Pusha T took the stage and performed several cuts from his proper solo debut, My Name Is My Name, as well as tracks from G.O.O.D Music's Cruel Summer compilation, before ending things with his breakout Clipse hit "Grindin."

Chainz, who was the guest on just a few hours before show time jumped out to "Fork," the opening track from his latest album, B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time.

Then for just about two hours, the tall and lanky Atlanta rap star bopped across the stage, rolling out hit after hit. Deuce pulled from his own catalog for high-powered tunes like "Feds Watching," "I'm Different," "Spend It" and "Birthday Song," but also he performed a few of his fan-favorites guest verses from songs like Juicy J's "Bandz a Make Her Dance" and G.O.O.D Music's "Mercy."

The amount of features Chainz has done have made him wildly popular and helped strengthen a few rap friendships. He invited some of those friends out onstage last night in NYC. Trey Songz, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, French Montana, Chinx and Cam'ron all showed up. After French performed his own single "Ain't Worried About Nothin'," the Bad Boy rapper and Tity Boi gave fans a taste of an upcoming track they have called "A-Rod."

Bill Murray Worked For ‘Stale Bread’ To Do ‘Grand Budapest Hotel’

Any press conference for a major motion picture is going to be a zoo, but when you're the opening night selection for the Berlin International Film Festival with a cast larger than many small countries like "Grand Budapest Hotel," things are going to get a little nuttier than usual.

The conference — which preceded the premiere by several hours — featured director Wes Anderson, producer Jeremy Dawson, as well as stars (deep breath), Willem Dafoe (Jopling), Jeff Goldblum (Kovacs), Tilda Swinton (Madame D.), Tony Revolari (Zero Moustafa), Ralph Fiennes (M. Gustave), Saoirse Ronan (Agatha), Edward Norton (Henckels), and Bill Murray (M. Ivan). Whew.

Once the conference got underway a grand (Budapest hotel) time was had by all, so here are all of the big highlights:

» "We are promised very long hours and low wages," Murray joked on how Anderson gets such great casts for his movies. "And stale bread. It's this crazy thing where you're asked to work long hours. You end up spending more money on tips than you make on the movie. But you get to live in — Wes, his dreamscape comes true. You get to watch it happen."

Anderson added that Murray only had about a day's work on "The Darjeeling Limited," but hung around in India for a full week. Murray joked back that on the various films he's worked on, they work for a very hard twenty minutes but get to spend five or six days in Paris.

» Anderson talked extensively about the inspiration for the movie, ...

‘American Idol’ Recap: So… You Thought You Were Going To Hollywood?

Hollywood Week kicked off Wednesday on "American Idol," and more than half the field of 212 "Idol" hopefuls was cut before the end of the two-hour episode. A fair number of contestants didn't even make it to their hotel, in a new twist that made this visit to Hollywood "Idol's" most ruthless one yet.

"If you think you know Hollywood Week, think again," Ryan Seacrest said, teasing format changes. Keith Urban's new haircut seemed to be the first. (His shaggy 'do has been upgraded to a tighter, more head-fitting cut.)

Upon their arrival in L.A., the "Idols' " first stop was an airplane hangar, where selected contestants — those who were on the fence after their initial auditions — were asked to sing for their lives.

"The judges expect greatness," Seacrest explained, and many did not deliver. Neco Starr did, however, ripping a note-perfect rendition of Bruno Mars' "Gorilla" that produced audible gasps in the room. Those 52 contestants were split into two groups — one group continued on and the other group was bused straight home. And it was pretty clear that those not in Starr's group — including first season "Idol" finalist Nikki McKibbin's son, 15-year-old Tristen Langley — were the ones who were being unceremoniously sent home.

That quickie round cut 32 contestants from the talent pool. The remaining 180 contestants were sent to the renamed Dolby Theatre, where many an "Idol" dream has come true. Here, it was business as usual, Hollywood Week-style, with groups of 10 sent to sing in a line, and individuals asked to either step ...

‘Man Of Steel’ Sequel: Tom Hanks Was Considered For Lex Luthor

Have you wrapped your brain around Jesse Eisenberg's casting as Lex Luthor in the yet? I'm still wrestling with it, myself — especially in light of a new report that floats out an entirely different name as someone Warner Bros. considered for Superman's arch-nemesis.

The Hollywood Reporter broke down the Eisenberg-Luthor decision in a new story this week, identifying a few other actors who were on Warner's wish-list for the still-untitled "Man of Steel" sequel. "Girls" actor Adam Driver, previously rumored to play Nightwing in the film, was apparently being courted for Luthor instead. Joaquin Phoenix, too, was on the WB's short-list. Apparently, the oft-rumored Bryan Cranston was never truly considered for the part.

But here's a name that's altogether new to the mix: Tom Hanks. THR reports that the "Forrest Gump" and "Philadelphia" Oscar winner "had been discussed internally" for the part of Luthor. He was never approached for the role, according to the report, but it's interesting enough to hear that Hanks was, at least at one point, a model for what the "Man of Steel" sequel team wanted in their Lex.

How did the vision for Luthor change from a 57-year-old, highly-accomplished, two-time Academy Award winner to the 30-year-old Eisenberg? Perhaps we'll never know. But in an alternate universe, Lex Luthor is doing this scene all over again, albeit with his best Hanksian scream. It's a universe I'd like to live in.

But it's no use playing the woulda-coulda game, now that Eisenberg is officially locked and loaded as Lex. After all, ...

Demi Lovato Just Wants To See Selena Gomez Be Brave

On the same day that reports surfaced about Selena Gomez's secret two-week stint in a rehab facility
in January, one of the singer's BFFs weighed in with some words of support.

"Weakness is living in denial," Demi Lovato wrote on Wednesday without naming names. "Only the strongest people ask for help."

Gomez was admitted to Arizona's Dawn at the Meadows on January 5. While the facility treats young patients with several addictions, Gomez was reportedly not treated for a drugs and alcohol issue. A spokesperson for the singer explained, "Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse."

Since completing the rehab stay, a healthy-looking Gomez, 21, has made several public appearances, including one at the Sundance Film Festival to promote her upcoming indie drama, "Rudderless," which co-stars Billy Crudup and William H. Macy.

A source told E! News that Gomez decided to get some help after pictures of her riding Segways
with former boyfriend Justin Bieber just after the new year.

"The last straw was seeing them on the Segways," the unnamed source told E! "She needed to work on her emotional life. She needed to learn tools on how to deal with Justin and letting go of that relationship ... This is the first time she's ever taken the time to deal with issues, to deal with herself, with a therapist."

While she hasn't spoken about what sent her to treatment, she did post a video on Wednesday in which she appears to be getting her groove back. In the clip Gomez and ...

Miley Cyrus Gets ‘High’ In ‘Unplugged’ Bonus Clip

Miley Cyrus has a reputation for mixing amazing throwback covers
into her live sets. From her patented take on Dolly Parton's "Jolene," to rips through Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell," Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and, well, c'mon, Robin Thicke's at the MTV VMAs, Miley knows how to pick 'em.

But in an unseen clip from her MTV "Unplugged"
special, instead of going into the way back machine, Miley dipped into her bag of tricks for a recent hit from England's Arctic Monkeys, "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High."

The late night drunk dial lament gets a slinky, jazzy facelift in Miley's hands, as she slows down the already crawling pace and adds a sultry vibe to the tune's bleary-eyed lyrics. "The mirror's image/Tells me it's home time/But I'm not finished/'Cause you're not by my side," Miley croons as she strips off a silver jacket to reveal a matching bikini top and ripped jeans.

Grinding her hips to the song's molasses drip tempo, Miley turns the song's original complaint into more of a come-here-now-go-away command, bringing it all home with a powerhouse vocal wail on the song's chorus. "Thank you MTV, for letting me of all people, go unplugged. That's brave," she says at the end.

Will ‘Fantastic Four’ Feature Female Doctor Doom?

What's the latest on Fox's "Fantastic Four" reboot, scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2015? The superhero movie, helmed by "Chronicle" director Josh Trank, is expected to begin production next month, yet no actors have been officially announced for the project.

That's not to say that Trank and Fox aren't looking to cast Marvel's first family yet — far from it. The Hollywood Reporter states that actors like Kate Mara and Emma Rossum tested for the part of Sue Storm, alias Invisible Woman, earlier in the week, while Miles Teller tested for the part of Reed Richards, alias Mr. Fantastic. Relative unknown Christian Cook, meanwhile, supposedly tested for Ben "The Thing" Grimm, a part once rumored for Josh Gad.

Teller and Mara's names have been in the mix for a while. Cook and Rossum are relatively new to the "Fantastic Four" rumor mill. But here's the newest and biggest bombshell of them all: the THR piece mentions that Doctor Doom is the "Fantastic Four" reboot's villain, and while Fox is "likely to go for a big name," they "aren't ruling out switching genders for the role."

I'll give you a minute to let that soak in.

Perhaps THR is just stirring the pot, but let's take it for what it is: Fox is eyeing high-profile names for Doctor Doom, including high-profile actresses. The typical kneejerk reaction with such a dramatic shift in a beloved character is usually not so positive. (This is me judging all you Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm haters out there.) But in this case, ...
