Drake’s Nothing Was The Same Producer Wants You To ‘Tear The Club Up’

As the September 24 release date for Drake's highly anticipated third album Nothing was the Same, looms closer, more and more details are beginning to leak out.

Young Money president Mack Maine already has his favorites. "I haven't heard the whole album, but my favorite track so far is the intro," he told MTV News at the Barclays Center after the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

"He also has a track him and Detail came up with, they're gonna tear the clubs up with that. It's a tie between those two."

Detail, who has logged hits with Lil Wayne, described NWTS as a hip-hop afterparty. He acknowledged that artists like Kanye West and Jay Z have already dropped some pretty high-profile rap albums earlier in the year, and now Drake will help to close out a year with some pretty remarkable releases. "Be on your worst behavior," the YMCMB producer warns.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Drake's go-to producer Noah "40" Shebib revealed that the intro that Mack referred to is a song called "Tuscan Leather." It reportedly samples Whitney Houston in a very clever way. "It's a three-staged record — one sample flipped three different ways, with a verse over each beat," 40 said.

Drake describes "Paris Morton Music II" as an all-out rap-fest. "That track excites me from a rap standpoint, just getting off bars and different flows," he said. "I played it for J. Cole, on some rap buddy-buddy sh--, and he was like, 'Damn!'"

Earlier this Rolling Stone also revealed that Jay Z, Lil Wayne and producer ...

What Came First: The Miley Or The Twerk? Oxford Dictionaries Rep Weighs In

Oxford Dictionaries Online added a whole new batch of words to its latest edition on Wednesday (August 28), including the now infamous "twerk." But if your first thought is that Miley Cyrus' teddy bear twerk-a-thon at the 2013 Video Music Awards had something to do it, you may be surprised.

According to a representative from the OD (not to be confused with the historical Oxford English Dictionary), the immortalization and legitimization of the word had nothing to do with the ex-Disney star. The Head of US Dictionaries, Katherine Connor Martin, told MTV News that the words added today to the online version of the dictionary were decided on months ahead of publication — back in the spring.

That means "twerk," "buzzworthy" and "selfie" were locked and loaded before Miley took the stage Sunday and twerked all over Robin Thicke as part of her "We Can't Stop" performance.

As for how the word was chosen for inclusion, Martin said that a few factors are taken into account. "Frequency [of use] is very important, but we look at a variety of different sources," she explained. "We have 'corpora' — so those are sets of electronic text that are supposed to be representative of the English language, so we can see changes happening and identify new words that are coming into use that way."

The team also has a watch list of words that the editors of the ODO have "identified as being new and noteworthy," Martin said. "We assess those for frequency and also for a breadth of usage."

Twerk was first put on ...

Kristen Bell: ‘Frozen’ Is ‘The Kind Of Movie I Wanted To See As A Kid’

Winter is coming. The next Disney animated film to hit theaters is titled — chillingly — "Frozen" and features the voice work of Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad in this loose retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale "The Snow Queen." MTV News recently caught up with Bell, who explained what movie-goers can expect from "Frozen."

"The movie is about a pair of sisters — one who has the power to freeze things, and it happens when she is fearful or angry," Bell said. "And because of feeling terrified to show that to the world, she sort of runs away and freezes the town accidentally. I play the sister Anna, who makes it her mission to travel across these snowy lands and bring her sister back amidst the fact that they're fighting and kind of at that point hate each other. It's kind of how they make up and find love in the end."

Bell's voicework on the film isn't limited to dialogue — she sings too!

"We're singing the lovely songs of Kristen and Bobby Lopez, who wrote 'Book of Mormon,' " she enthused. "So it's really, really funny music. It's really good music. They're amazing to work for."

Yet, the thing Bell is most proud about when it comes to "Frozen" is embodying a relatable heroine — something you don't always find in your average Disney princess.

"I'm really excited to show it to people. I became a part of the kind of movie I wanted to see as a kid," she said. "I always loved Disney animation, ...

After picking up his Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award

Speaking to MTV News' Sway Calloway on his Shade 45 show on Tuesday, Timberlake revealed that he had an hour-long sit down with West to air out their differences, and probe a possible collaboration.

The very first item on the agenda was discussing Yeezy's dis of "Suit & Tie" earlier this year ("Man I got love for Hov, but I ain't f---ing with that 'Suit & Tie.'"). As you might recall, Justin swiped back during his "Saturday Night Live" appearance a short time later ("My hit's so sick got rappers acting dramatic.")

"It doesn't matter," Timberlake said of the months-old flap. "It was one of them things where I love it, in a way, because at the end of the day it's just music," he said. "I love the record, I love 'Suit & Tie.' It reminds me of the music I grew up listening to. I respect his opinion because I think he's a genius. But I don't ...

What Happened When Macklemore Met Kanye Backstage At The VMAs?

There was so much happening at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards — both onstage and behind the scenes — that sometimes, it takes a few days for the subtler moments to rise to the surface. Hey, it wasn't all twerking Teddy bears.

Case in point, this genuinely sweet interaction between multiple-VMA winners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and the mercurial Kanye West, which occurred backstage following West's performance of . It's just a quick conversation between artists, but it shows that, no matter how big Mack & Lewis have gotten, they're still fans, first and foremost.

"Thank you for raising the bar as an artist, appreciate it" Macklemore tells Kanye.

He then praised his performance, saying "You killed that sh--."

And despite what you might think about Kanye, he was incredibly gracious, thanking Macklemore for his words, shaking hands with Lewis, and embracing who gives 'Ye a kiss on the cheek.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis would win three Moonmen at Sunday's show, and performed their equality anthem on the VMA stage with an assist from special guest Jennifer Hudson onstage. Kanye, on the other hand, basically breezed in and out of Barclays, doing a somber version of "Blood," then spending a few minutes in the artist VIP area before departing. But based on this quick interaction with Macklemore, he also found time to make some dreams come true.

Could ‘Gravity’ Be The Year’s Best Movie?

With the Venice Film Festival kicking off and Telluride, Toronto, and New York starting soon, the festival circuit has officially begun, and already a film as emerged with potential to be the year's best.

Critics reporting from Venice have given Alfonso Cuarón's space thriller, "

"Gravity" took Cuarón four years to complete, mostly because he needed to develop filmmaking technologies in order to capture believable spacewalk performances from his stars, Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, and it appears to have been worth the effort, based on what the early reviews are saying.

Todd McCarthy opens his review for The Hollywood Reporter by saying, "At once the most realistic and beautifully choreographed film ever set in space, 'Gravity' is a thrillingly realized survival story spiked with interludes of breath-catching tension and startling surprise."

The tech on display also Justin Chang of Variety stunned with its complexity, but he also wondered why a movie with such palpable tension and such a straightforward story wasn't made earlier, by someone else. "It falls among that increasingly rare breed of popular entertainments capable of prompting genuine 'How did they do that?' reactions from even the most jaded viewers, even as its central premise is so simple and immediately gripping that one might just as readily ask, 'Why didn't anyone do it sooner?'" he wrote.

Of course, none of this would mean anything without a strong human element, in this case Bullock, who spends most of the film by herself. McCarthy gave high compliments to both her and her main co-star. "Clooney supplies both manly reliability ...

What Did Justin Think Of Miley’s VMA Performance? JT Speaks Out

Justin Timberlake didn't just show up at Sunday's 2013 MTV Video Music Awards to pick up his Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award
and shut down the Internet by reuniting with 'NSYNC
. No, he was also there to watch the other performers, including, of course, Miley Cyrus.

While Miley's twerk-a-thon
has gotten lots of attention and spurred plenty of discussion
, Timberlake said he was not one of the slack-jawed celebs in the crowd who were caught on camera reacting to the spectacle. No, he was backstage getting ready to perform when it went down and when he visited Angie Martinez's radio show on Tuesday, JT seemed unaware of the controversy.

"Is everybody giving her a hard time about it?" he said with a smile. "I don't look at Miley that way, because I think the first time I met her she was Hannah Montana ... My thoughts on it are, it's the VMAs. It's not the Grammys. We're talking about Madonna in a wedding dress humping the stage. We're talking about Britney doing a striptease. This cycle is not uncommon."

Timberlake said Cyrus deserves a break because she's young and because the song ["We Can't Stop"] is "jamming." Plus, "I like all the bears," he said. "To me, it's almost if something like that doesn't happen at the VMAs it's boring ... something happens every year."

How Did 'NSYNC Celebrate Their Reunion?

He also had a chat with Fresh 102.7's Jim Douglas and re-iterated many of those same thoughts, including that his favorite part ...

Katy Perry ‘Lets the Light In’ On Prism

Katy Perry fans might have to wait close to two months to hear Prism, but in the meantime, she wanted to make one thing clear to her Katy Cats: this album will not take a darker turn.

Last year, Perry told L'Uomo Vogue that album would be "much darker" since she was pulling inspiration from everything she went through, seemingly referring to her divorce from Russell Brand.

However, when she recently sat down with MTV News she admitted she's now seeing things differently.

"There's not really any darkness on the record," Perry told MTV News of her upcoming third album. "There's definitely some textures and colors but I think I was saying that when I saw going through a different phase, but I really let that light in."

And because she was able to turn that darkness into light, Perry decided to appropriately title the album, Prism.

"The reason why I called this record Prism is because I actually finally let the light in and then I was able to create all these songs that were inspired by letting the light in and doing some self-reflection and just kind of working on myself," Perry said. "I felt very prismatic because of that I feel like now I get to show these songs off and share these songs with the listeners and it's almost like I get to beam the colors that I've experienced out from me."

Who Is Katy Perry's 'Biggest Bully'?

In addition to "Roar," which she performed for the first time at the 2013 Video Music Awards, Perry also released two ...
